Hello everyone! Happy July 1!
Wishing everyone a successful month! Wow...this year is flying by!
Starting today, I am switching my lunch/dinner meals (as posted on the June thread) ~~ I hope to get the ol' treadmill up and going this weekend too....just want to test out my theory about not being to burn off the carbs from dinner (as small as they may be...)
Generally...per my meal patterns....my lunches tend to be carbless...generally a meat/protein only...maybe with a little fat ~~ and my dinners almost always include a green salad or veggie (low carb...but still...carbs). I'm going to see if it helps a little. I read somewhere that a woman lost 7 pounds last week ~~ she was blown away...she said she usually loses 7 pounds in a month...but NEVER in a week. She then stated that she had changed her routine as follows: She was doing a lot more strenuous gardening outside, and trying to eat her dinner meal earlier (she and dh apparently at dinner later at night...like 9:00-10:00)....and it occurred to me (uhhhhh....my lightbulb is a bit slow sometimes) that, because of our schedule on most weekdays....I had a similar problem. Soooooo....I will be testing my theory this month. My average weight loss thus far would be 8.67 pounds per month (that is the 'average' from 4/1)....so let's see what happens.
I'm off work tomorrow...and the rest of the holiday weekend ~~ I will try to peek in from time to time (weather report looks pretty crummy at this point ) Wishing everyone a great LC day!

Agnes, I've been drinking my coffee black for so long I really don't like it any other way. Around the holidays I may try specialty coffees but that's the only time I have it differently.

Two nights in a row I went out to walk at the school, and two nights it hasn't happened. The first night I got rained out and last night the mosquitoes ran me off. But I got some insect repellent and I'm prepared for the next attempt. Tomorrow we're going to Amarillo for the weekend, so I may not be around much. Hope you have a great LC holiday weekend!

This morning I drove to work about twenty minutes earlier than usual and got a nice unexpected treat. The sun was rising through the clouds with some really cool rays shining down on the plains. Immediately I thanked God for the new day, the beauty of the sunrise and His faithfulness. It was awesome!

I hope to get all my work done early and leave about 1:00 pm today. Then me and A'Lisa will drive sown to Amarillo. It will be nice to have a change of pace even if it's just for one day. Tomorrow we're going to Splash Amarillo (water park) and I'll probably float in the lazy river all day. Fun in the sun! I hope everyone has a super fantastic wonderful LC holiday weekend!

good morning everyone!

so we had a very busy weekend... i am happy to say that i have stayed on plan... we went to my in-laws cabins yesterday for the day and there is quite a drop to the river that flows right by it... it is a beautiful place and we all love going there... i had a pretty bad fall down the steps to the river yesterday... i wanted to wash out my sons water shoes but instead ended up half in the river... my whole right leg is bruised and scraped... its pretty painful, especially the day after...

hope everyone has a good Monday!

Hi guys! Was wondering if I could join in your group.

I have about 130 pounds to lose. I started off this WOE a few years ago and lost 50 pounds but have since put it back on. I've been praying for my heart to change toward food. I spent much of last month overeating like crazy when I was visiting with family after my grandmother passed away. During that time, I really started to feel bad about how much I was consuming....even when the family wasn't around and I was by myself.

The other day, I decided to do a blood glucose test, and it looks like I may have pre-diabetes...I REALLY don't want that to develop into full diabetes, so I realized that it's time to get back on low carb, get this weight down and change my body.

I know I can't do this alone, and the low carb boards were such a help to me when I had lost that weight 2 years ago, so I thought I'd check and see if I could find a nice group that I can be accountable to!

I'm starting with Atkins induction today and am looking forward to seeing how this month will go! Hope to talk with you all often as we take this journey together to change our bodies and lives!

Hello! Happy Monday everyone!!
Busy weekend...lotta running around. The weather was blech on Thursday and early Friday...but cleared up enough Friday night to go to my cousin's house for a bonfire and fireworks. Saturday, spent the morning at the farm...and went to see local fireworks in the evening. Again...no weight loss this week ~~ just holding steady at where I've been........but happy that it is holding steady with no gain. I've behaved myself...so I must be in some sort of a stall....
Agnes.....ooooooh...I hope your leg feels better soon....those OWeeee's tend to hurt a lot more the next day.... Sounds like you had a very nice weekend all in all.

LowCarbChick: It is nice to meet you! Everyone here is sooooo supportive...and full of such good information.

Morning all. Hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July weekend. It was a low key one for us. Just bbq and fireworks. It was fun tho. Had blueberries, strawberries and whipped cream for dessert Sat night (and Sunday night too). YUM! Gotta love it when berries are in season.

Down 2 lbs this week. Still coughing up a storm and getting tired of it! Wish I would wake up and this darn virus/allergy/whatever would be gone!

Peggy congrats for being down 2 pounds this week! Weigh to go!

We just spent a few days in Amarillo, TX. We had a great time! We did some shopping, went out to nice restaurants, had some adult beverages, spent Friday at a water park. Lots of fun in the sun!

Hope y'all have a great LC day!

Happy July!

Vacation was wonderful! Its good to be home though. My family had a wonderful time at the beach. Just nice and slow.. Sun and Corona! I didnt stay on plan but I'd like to report that I dont eat 1/2 of what i used to. One hamburger, one bowl of chicken and dumplings (my mom cooked southern alot!). I wonder if my body is healing????

That being said, i'm not going to weigh until Friday. My hubby weighed today and he hadnt gained any! Go babe!

We met our new great nephew when we got back in town. He is just beautiful. 6 lbs 4 oz. Precious... Its really good to be home...

I'm sorry to hear about your fall Agnes, glad there were no breaks.
Welcome lowcarbchick!
Getting some jealousy about those berries Peggy, do you put them in whipping cream that sprays out of the can?
Great job on the holiday Denise!!
Moonius, the sunrise on the beach was incredible... Be Still and know I am God. BEAUTIFUL!
Donna, I hope joy comes to your household and peace in your marriage this week...

Here we go - my next 60 lb loss:
B: egg cream
S: Cheese stick and almonds
L: Greek salad
D: chicken breast and green beans

I know I can't do this alone, and the low carb boards were such a help to me when I had lost that weight 2 years ago, so I thought I'd check and see if I could find a nice group that I can be accountable to!

I'm starting with Atkins induction today and am looking forward to seeing how this month will go! Hope to talk with you all often as we take this journey together to change our bodies and lives!
welcome!

so i'm still in pain for the fall... it looks like part of it got infected too so i'm trying to take care of that... it was really swollen last night, but looks to be a little better this morning... but i will tell you this... when it rains it pours! i have some kind cold or somthing going on too... my nose is running, throat hurts, and i'm coughing... not good! we are leaving for the beach a week from tomorrow... if it continues i will go visit a doctor and make sure i'm better by then!

yesterday's menu:

b: tuna
L: chicken
d: ummm.. .peanut butter? not good huh...

i was kind of feeling sorry for myself and had some peanut butter... and skipped dinner

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone had a good holiday. I'm still on plan...yeah...even after two weekends!!! I feel GREAT, my pants are no longer tight and that "foggy" feeling has left. Now to start the exercise back up. I'm still either parking in the far lot or walking the stairs but not both. I'll get there...

Agnes - Sorry to hear about your injury! Hope you heal quickly...take care of that infection so it doesn't get worse. I'm leaving for the beach next Thursday, we are going to Rehoboth Beach DE.

Sandra - Hey there, glad you vacation was relaxing! I'm hoping for the same but with a two yr old who has never slept away from home...not sure if it will be. I'm hoping to stay on plan the whole time but we shall see...

Moonius - Glad you trip was fun...a water park, haven't been to one in YEARS! But guess I will be at some point with the little one!

LowCarbChick - Welcome and good luck!! I think the first few days are the hardest...oh and Sundays?! We can do this together!

Denise - Hoping you get a whoosh this week but at least last week wasn't a gain! I'm still too scare to get on the scale...maybe sometime this week??

Peggy - Good to see you! Feeling better?

Donna - Stress at home really stinks when trying to stay on plan!! But hold strong and steady...I hope things work out for the better with you and your husband, be it either way!

Well off to work...yuck...but need something to pay the bills! And keep me out of trouble.

Good Morning All!! Welcome back Sandra & Loveton!!
Today looks like it is going to be another beautiful day (wow...2 days in a row!! I'm going to get spoiled!! With all of the rain we've had the last few weeks...it is going to take forever to dry out).
Picked ds up from school/daycare yesterday....his left hand was all swollen ~~ looks like a spider bite. He said it didn't hurt or feel uncomfortable ~~ but this morning, it is still swollen and a bit red, and he says it hurts , so I am waiting for the doctor's office to open...so I can call to see what their thoughts are. Being so young (3 years)...I don't want to give him anything without talking to the doctor first.
Any-who.....here is yesterday's menu:
b: coffee, OMM
l: leftover sausage, green salad w/ blue cheese dressing and a sprinkling of shredded cheese, Water Water Water
d: Chili dogs (from a low carb menu...all natural hot dogs (1 carb each), beef, tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, little cheese sprinkled over the top), unsweetened soy milk with a drop of stevia added, peanut butter fudge (a recipe from this board...I sub'd 1/2 tsp liquid stevia for the Splenda in the recipe....quite good) **DH loved the chili dog recipe...definitely a LC recipe keeper ~~ something different for a change**
I hope everyone has a great LC day!

Hi everyone! I am still sick. This cough has *got* to go!!!!!! UGH

Staying on plan tho. I have upped my carbs (obviously with the berries) to the 35-45 per day and seem to be OK at this level. I have read that hypos need a bit more carbs. I will see what adding the fruit does. Heck NO Sandra...I don't use that stuff! I make my own with Heavy whipping cream and a packet of splenda. Once you try it, you won't want any other type!

Loveton...glad you are feeling less foggy and that your pants are not tight any more! I will tell you that when I started trying to lose weight at 359, I would park in the far end of the lot, but took the elevator to my office. It was ALOT of work lugging myself around. Now I could do *both* if I chose to. One step at a time.

Agnes...take care of yourself. Get better soon.

Menu:

B: Bacon
S: Cheddar Cheese (1 oz)
L: Greek Salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing
D: Seasoned ground beef topped with cheese, guac, sour cream, salsa
S: Blue/straw berries topped with whipped cream

Will check back when I can....take care everyone.

HI

I am new to this board. Not sure what thread I belong in. I am in week 4 of induction. I am not militant about the carbs. Trying to stay below 20, but have had a few days around 30.

Did Atkins several years ago and lost 60 pounds. Got hooked on the Advantage bars and wound up quiting. Regained 40 pounds. Tried WW (on my own) for 2 years and learned healthier eating (less processed). Lost 30 pound, recently started to gain so decided to go back to what made me feel the best.

I have never shown much on the ketosis strips...so not sure if I am in the zone . I lost 7 pounds in the first 2 weeks and had a slight gain this week (1 pound). Salt can make me gain dramatically so I am not upset. Last time around I averaged a pound a week.

Noticed that the "brain fog" cleared within a few days of stopping bread and potatoes. I am sleeping much better now too. I love the perks.

Hope to make some new friends. Point me to the right threads please.

Halo
