Zone 1 on Flylady down?? you are doing great! come join the FLYlady thread on the playground this week they post Kelly's missions everyday M-F ...believe me though he will be more interested in you and the kids than how the house looks
Hey Deb - he's only home for 2 weeks but will re-deploy home around October-ish timeframe - so the end is in sight!! I'll try to take it easy on the poor guy - of course the last time he was gone for 10 months and I was the one that ended up walking around like John Wayne for a few days.

I'm reluctantly looking at Flylady again - i've done it in the past and it does work but the emails drive me nuts! I've got to do something though - my house is a disaster - I'd say my children act like they were raised in a barn but that would be an insult to the barn animals! I swear if I have to pick up one more wet towel/swimsuit off the carpet I'm going to do serious bodily harm to whomever it belongs to!!!

Anyway, on my way out the door to practice. Talk to y'all later.

BTW: I finished my cloth napkins - they came out really nice - a pretty tea dyed muslin with tan thread rolled serging around the outside. Almost to sophisticated for us.

Good evening - I'm back from the boys last practice. Their tournament starts tomorrow. I can't wait till baseball is done. I am sick to death of their coach - he's an overbearing bully that contradicts himself constantly. He intimidates me - I can't imagine what a 50lb. 7 year old is thinking while he's yelling. UGHHH! I'm pulling them from baseball if they get the same guy next year. okay, I think i'm done bit@h!ng.

I did pretty good foodwise today:
B: coffee mocha protein shake
L: garlic chile pork stir fry
D: mozzarella stuffed garlic & artichoke sausage (2)
S: small handful of wasabi almonds and leftover cold chicken breast (from rotisserie bird last night)
H2O: not too good - i've got to get back into drinking a lot - only about 48 oz. today. I'll try to get at least another 20 down before bed.

Hope y'all had a good one - i'm cleaning the kitchen tomorrow - ughh!!! so I probably won't be on till around lunchtime. TTYL.

Okay - i'll definately got check out the flylady thread - I give up about day 3 when I'm getting the emails - too ANNOYING! I know dh is really not going to care whether or not the house is spotless, but i've really let it go since its just me and the kids this year - i'm at that lovely place where the only kids I'll let mine invite over have worse slobs for parents than me - so i'm not too embarrassed. Its ridiculous - I have a beautiful 1905 restored victorian but I can't ever invite anyone over because there's 2 weeks worth of laundry (clean) piled on the couch 'cause I don't want to fold it and put it away. And my sewing room... I think I could definately have the potential to become a hoarder when it comes to fabric. I need a 12 step program - "Hi, my name is Mindy and I have a fabric addiction." I have stuff I don't even remember what I bought it for. I am determined to get organized before the school year starts - y'all have my permission to kick my butt if I procrastinate on getting organized. Alright - now i'm going to bed. Talk at ya tomorrow.

dont worry...NOTHING could possibly be worse than my friend's apartment...she's a dear friend of mine and a great co-worker but OMG(!!) her and her husband have the worst place i've EVER seen...there is literally a path from the door to each room, every room is filled with odds n ends, burying the furniture, you can't even walk across (or into) the living room...there isn't a free spot anywhere in her kitchen, not counters, not sink, NO place to even set my keys....every single room looks like that, bedroom, bathroom, office/computer room etc...

i've tried to help her clean it out but as soon as i stop helping, she won't do anymore to it and that's where it ends...ive helped her take ALOT of empty boxes to recycling and crush hundreds of soda cans to take to recycling...one weekend we took like five of those big black garbage bags FULL of misc. trash out and that didnt even make a DENT in it

it's not garbage, per say, the place smells just fine and nothing is molding/rotting etc...it's just SOOO insanely cluttered, they both work full time and then play computer games, they have no kids...i dunno, i quit offering to help because i end up doing most of the work and seriously, NOTHING gets done after i leave

Good morning everybody. Sorry I haven't been posting with any regularity. Just not physically up to it. I'll try to post when I can. I'm not meal planning right now so I won't be posting any. My DW knows what needs to be done mealwise and is making sure I stay on plan. Oh yes I had planned on weighing today. But I got weighed on my trip to the VA hospital last week. I am pleased to announce my first months loss was a little over 23 pounds. I know some of that was water but I'll take it.

Everybody be true to your WOE, post those mealplans, drink your water and strive to be successful in your weightloss.

Bill

Bill,
I sure will miss your posts but post as often as you can. Hooray on your great weight loss this month.
Deb,
I have a dear dear friend who lives in a clutter. I think her problem is focus. Why not make a SHORT list of what you want to get done? Mark off as you finish. That way you don't start in the kitchen and then end up elsewhere.
Mindy,
The same idea does work with kids. Just a Short list of to do today for each kid would make a big difference and be a big help.
Dee,
I make a point of throwing out or freezing left overs . If it is not eaten in 2 days out it goes. Of course with only me and dh here I cook small portions mostly and there are few leftovers.
My personal experience after 10 plus years of being a house keeper in private homes is you either are organized all the time or you are rarely organized. I could tell you some stories about other peoples houses!
We got the kids to the lake and settled in. Gavin is a monster when excited and around Mom and Dad. I have a Jekyl and Hyde grandson..lol.
I ate 3 boiled eggs with 2tbs of butter and 2 oz of cheese for breakfast.
DH got a seafood plate for lunch, fried of course. I ate 10 popcorn shrimp and a very small (2-3 bites) of trout.
Dinner was 1 small beef short rib and 2 brats w/onions and peppers and about 2 tbs of sour kraut.
Snack was a few green olives.
Not good with water but will try harder.
I don' have a food plan yet but I am thinking some hamburger later.
HAGD,
Jean

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend!! We did!! Didn't get to cook out as planned, but grilled on the stove and it was good. My Dad and our roomie got the arm-chairs in from storage and Dad was so happy. One was his recliner, and he strtched out on it right away. My cat Rascal was happy too, she claimed Dad's chair when he got up LOL.

Freezing leftovers makes good sense, Something I need to do more often Can't afford to waste food in this economy!!

Hi Bill, Hope you get feeling better soon!! Congrats on the weight loss Thanks for all your words of encouragement on this board, I take them to heart and I really think they help in weak moments

Hugs to all and Have a Wonderful Day!! Jean

home blessing hour! oh i need to do this BAD!

Quote:
What is the Weekly Home Blessing Hour?

The Weekly Home Blessing hour is the time FlyLady spends slipshod cleaning her home. No detailed cleaning required; vacuum the middle of the floors only!

FlyLady sets her timer for 10 minutes to work on each of 7 tasks:
Vacuum
Dust
Mop
Polish Mirrors and Doors
Purge magazines
Change Sheets
Empty all trash

This takes approximately one hour; some tasks take less than 10 minutes.

"Don't obsess, set your timer for 10 minutes for each task, then QUIT!" ~ Kelly

FlyLady's Detailed Cleaning List - Zone 2: The Kitchen

This week were are in Zone 2, our kitchens, This is my detailed cleaning list. Please print and add to your notebook. Copy and paste into a word document. Do not try to do this until you have decluttered your kitchen. Spend 15 minutes a day decluttering and then you can start doing some of your detailed cleaning. Do not worry about this. You have not done it in years and one more month isn't going to hurt anything. Toss out the clutter first. It will be easier to clean. - FlyLady

2. CLEAN MICROWAVE INSIDE AND OUT
3. CLEAN STOVE/OVEN
4. WASH CANISTER/KNICK-KNACKS

I worked so hard today, I am tired.
Worked in my yard for 3 1/2 hours...mowing and pulling weeds. Showered redressed and went to Walmart for meds. Unloaded dish washer, did 2 loads of laundry (but one is still sitting in the dryer), made new humming bird food and cleaned feeders, washed a lot of Gavin finger prints and dog snoodles off sun porch windows. I did GOOD! ( Just hope I don't pay to dearly for it tomorrow)
I sauteed 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts with sliced celery in 2 tbs of butter and ate 1/2 for breakfast and 1/2 for lunch. I also ate 2 ham and cheese roll ups for a snack. I haven't decided if I want anymore food tonight. I may grill a hamburger patty or 2 and if I don't eat them will have my breakfast ready.
I found out I love sauteed celery. I will not be throwing out so much celery anymore as it tends to get limp here cause dh doesn't like it and I don't eat it fast enough.
Hagn,
Jean

I finally got really hungry and had 3 sausage patties and 2 eggs. I cut the small watermellon and had 6-7 bites. Yummy! I know it was not on plan but so good.
I am not kicking me for the fruit cause it could have been so much worse.
I see a pattern of too many carbs. I am proud of small portion sizes how ever.
I will do better tomorrow.
