Hey y'all. Just checking in. I'm surprised we haven't heard from Bill yet - any word on what happened? Still praying here.

I was okay today - I think i'm just going to have to cut myself some slack till TOM leaves on my portion sizes - I'm very snack-y the past few days - i've been pretty good about types of food, just not amounts. I'm heading upstairs early tonight - hoping to finish my book at a reasonable time so I can force myself to clean up tomorrow morning. My kids are having friends over since our little town does its fireworks on the 3rd instead of the 4th (cheaper!). I've got to run into town and pick up some sparklers for them to do too. Hope everyone has a good night!

B: skipped - talking to dh and then trying to finish my book
L: bacon wrapped hotdogs
D: homemade cobb salad - iceberg lettuce, tomatos, HB eggs, bleu cheese, poached chicken breast, bacon and ranch salad dressing
S: leftover chicken, couple of fresh strawberries
H2O: 72 oz. + 16 oz. peach crystal light

See y'all tomorrow! 'night!

yeah our town does theirs tomorrow night at midnight...and then the parade downtown is the morning of the 4th on saturday

bill is fine...he's home and just resting...i'm sure he'll be on later

all the kids are gone, house is straightened up and laundry is going...pretty much done for the night...took older son to his friend's house for the night...my guy fell asleep with toddler on his bed watching a cartoon LOL they are both SOUND asleep...i figure i'll leave em a note and go for my walk pretty soon

it's very sad...another community youngster passed away yesterday...first we lost a teenager this winter to a game of russian roullette with guns, then a high school graduate was killed in a drunk driving accident...and then yesterday the teenager son of a lady who works at my school, he went hiking with friends up a mountain, his backpack went over a ledge and he went to fetch it and he never came back...searchers found his body last night i feel just horrible for the family...that's sooo incredibly sad

A heart felt thank you to each of you for your expressions of concern. It appears I had what Doc called a flareup. Hehe! Real scientific I'd say. The nerves were aggravated by inflamation of the muscle tissue of my lower back and legs. They don't know why the inflamation occurred, but I've an idea it may be related to overtaxing of the muscles because of my weight. Deb this type of pain is a lot different than sciatica. Granted sciatica is a very painful condition but its unlike the pain from multiple damaged nerves. Its an excruciating, seering, burning kind of pain. Each occurence could last from a few seconds to 10 or 15 minutes. I was getting several occurence in different areas(thighs, calves, back) all at the same time. It really put me down. I'm not back to normal but after a cocktail of meds and steroids injected into my back and thighs I'm sure in a better way than yesterday. Thanks Ruth for updating everybody.
When Ruth and I were chatting on Yahoo, I was still pretty much under the influence of a generous injection of seconal(sp?). I don't know if any of you have experienced that med but WOW. That stuff is potent. Neurontin was mentioned by somebody here. I've been on neuronton for a long time now. After this episode, I'm now on the maximum dosage of 3600mgs a day. In fact I am now on the maximum dosage for all three of the meds I'm taking for this problem. Besides the neurontin I'm taking 1500mgs of naproxen(Aleve) and 60mgs of Vicodin a day. I don't like feeling on vicodin so I sometimes fudge on it and take a little less than prescribed.
Well again thanks for all your kind words and concern.

Just a quick run through before starting work :O)

Has anyone heard from Bill? How's he doing??

Deb, Will you go please visit Giggles once in a while for me while my computer is down. She's going to be a sad little tiger if I can't get on to see her.

I'll keep using the work computer when I can, but it may be until the 13th before my computer is fixed.

Wish me luck, the ones working today are having a pizza party, I'm planning on taking the toppings off a piece or two and having my salad. I'm not weighing in yet, waiting for WOE to get firmly set in my mind. I have a tendency to waver a little, but my net carbs stay low.

Congrats MetGirl on your loss!! THat is wonderful!!

Have a Safe and HAPPY 4th Everyone!! Hugs, Jean

ps: i hate firecrackers with a passion...those loud little pops right next to me just make me far too jumpy...i'm sure it stems from being shot and killed in a jungle war in the past (feel free to roll your eyes ) ...i love fireworks though way up in the sky...we're goingto see those t onight

Today we are going to do that in the Dining Room and Entrance Way.
Let's go after the ceilings, light fixtures and window sills!

Using a feather duster or dust rag get the window sills, the light
fixtures, the dusties in the corners and the ceiling fan if you have
one (remember to put something underneath this to catch the falling
debris, one member uses an old pillow case and slips it over the
blade and wipes so the dust stays in the case, I thought this was
brilliant!)

Hey y'all. Just a quick check in since i'm not sure i'll make it back later tonight. I got a couple of extra kiddo's for the night. We stopped and bought our fireworks (I only allow sparklers and fountains) and will watch the "big" show at 10. Trying to figure out something fairly easy/kid friendly for dinner. I decided to take the plunge and see how my body reacts to Dreamfields pasta. I'm making baked ziti and will have a big salad with it. Anyway, hope y'all have a really great holiday and I'll talk at ya later (or tomorrow!).

I am going to have a small cheat and so have eaten accordingly.
Breakfast: 2 fried eggs and 6 strips of bacon.
Lunch: n/a
Dinner fried cat fish fillet and cold boiled shrimp dipped into garlic butter.
I am going to dredge the fish in flour and pan fry it.
I am not going to over eat but I love fish..only fried though.
I figure the small amount of flour dusting won't go over my carbs for the day.
I may even have an adult beverage to celebrate the holiday and dh birthday.
If so it will be vodka and diet coke.
HAGN!

i weighed at one of those coin-operated scales at a mall today because NOTHING was open that would regularly have a scale...i even went to the hospital and only the emergency room was open LOLOL....

scale read 201 so i'm down 2 pounds from the beginning of the month and down 4 pounds from two months ago....but i think some of it's being replaced with muscle from walking because i can definitely tell a difference in my waist and legs and stomach from the walking now...and the difference seems more than 2 little pounds...i guess we'll see how the summer progresses

Good morning all. I've still got kids over so i'm not going to be on here long but I did my "official" weekly weigh-in. I was down 1 lb. this week to 342. Not quite the big drop I wanted but at least the movement was in the right direction. I'm hoping for a nice drop when TOM leaves. The dreamfields pasta seemed okay last night - no major cravings afterwards but I'll still only use it sparingly - it was convenient for having extra kids over to make a somewhat cost effective meal that everyone would eat. I did have 1/2 a slice of texas toast with it that I definately should have avoided but I tried to fill up on salad before touching any of the "carby" stuff. All in all, i'm satisfied with the "experiment". Hope everyone has a really good day - enjoy your fireworks and be safe! TTYL.

I'm a huge fan of Powerade Zero - no carbs and the blue flavor works with my migraines (other colors = migraine).

Ugh. There's a live woodrat in the bathroom. I need to roust it so I can shower, without getting bitten.

I think today, DH is GLAD to be blind!
