Hey y'all. Just thought i'd stop by for a quick check in. I'm still waiting to hear from Leroy. He was supposed to have a meeting this morning (his time - so last night mine) and find out flights/times/etc. I haven't heard anything yet. I didn't sleep worth crud last night so i'm cranky and watching the phone like a hawk. I hate the not knowing part. Maybe today... maybe tomorrow... maybe saturday... I need answers darn it! Anyway, my house is clean, the kids are playing on the playstation, dinner is simmering on the stove (creamy beef and mushroom stew/soup). Maybe I'll just go read a book for a while. Hope y'all are doing good. TTYL.

Hello friends,
Hooray for me! I got all my grass cut..pushing and riding, sprayed 2 1/2 gallons of round up, cleaned bird bath and humming bird feeder, blew off side walks and deck, went shopping, picked up Gavin, visited Mom and Dad, 2 loads of laundry, unloaded dish washer and cooked dinner. I am whipped!
I ate a big lettuce, tomato, onion and cuke salad with 3oz cheese and 7 huge black olives, dressed with mayo. Dinner was 2 small grilled pork chops and 6 pods of okra.
Water was great. My swelling is all but gone after 3 weeks of carb watching.
I feel good.
Jean

Hi Ruth I've around. Its just one of thse days when everyone is busy. Most posted early. Me, I've been on the run. Paying some bills, buying some groceries and setting up an appointment to get the car inspected. Plus spending time with my next to oldest granddaughter Davina. She spent the night with DW and I.

Thanks Bill - I'm ready.
I'm on my way up to bed - not sleeping last night has caught up to me big time. Finally heard from Leroy - he made it to Germany. Should be in the USA by tomorrow morning - maybe up to KS by early afternoon? Early evening? Not sure - but tomorrow for sure.

I was pretty good foodwise today - a little nervous snacking but not too bad.

B: skipped
L: salad (lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese & blue cheese dressing, ~1/2 c. cottage cheese, ~4-5 oz. shredded pork roast, 1 fried chicken leg (ate at buffet in town)
D: creamy beef/mushroom stew (stew meat, whole button mushrooms, beef broth, white wine, onion, garlic & cream), "zoodles" cooked in a little butter, ~2T. parmesan cheese
S: 1 oz. cashew pieces, 5 little square (1 serving) S.F. dove dark chocolates
H2O: really good - 100 oz. and i'm working on another 32 oz. cup

I'll let y'all know what's happening. Talk at ya tomorrow. 'night.

I'm surprised by how little some of the 300+ group members eat. I have to eat to lose weight. You can see by my mealplans how much I eat. If I don't eat enough my body goes into what's called starvation mode and my weightloss absolutely shuts down completely.
I guess everybody is different. But if any of you find hard or impossible to lose weight. Perhaps your body has gone into starvation mode and you need to eat more to lose.
Bill- my body is the same way so that is exactly why I am going to keep a food journal... some days I know I probably don't eat 600 calories, and I know not eating enough is as bad as eating way too much!

This is what helps me stay on track. It makes you be more aware of the food that you are eating.

Agreed. I don't eat anything bad, but in 2 weeks, I was hoping I would lose more than 8 pounds, so I was a little dissapointed, but I also know it's up & down and a loss is still a loss. I just want to keep better track of what I am eating and how much. I just ate a minute steak w/mushrooms & swiss cheese and just one filled me up. For lunch I had about a cup & 1/2 of chicken salad w/celery & green onions. For breakfast this morning 1 fried egg & 3 pieces of bacon. That's it- no snacks or anything... what are your thoughts?

What you listed looks good. When you make your food journal be sure to list the quantity of food. By this I mean: you listed you had a minute steak with mushrooms and swiss cheese. Ok how much did that steak weigh? How much cheese was on it? Cheese is high in salt and fat. Mushrooms are a very low carb food and you can be generous with them. I'm stressing this because quantity is just as important as what you eat.
You didn't mention it, but I assume it contained mayonnaise, another high salt food.

You are disappointed that your weightloss was only 8 pounds. How much time was it between weigh-ins? Even 8 pounds in a month is good it equates to 2 pounds a week. Which is what the doctors who came up with the Protein Power Plan expect a woman to lose on their plan. So don't be to disappointed. Revel in the weighloss and enjoy it.

Guess I better go get a scale. And yes, the chicken salad has some mayo & mustard in it.
2 pieces of swiss cheese and a small can of mushrooms.
2 weeks was the amount of time between weigh ins.

8 pounds in two weeks is great. That's 4 pounds a week. If you can maintain an average 4 pound a week loss in 3 months time or 12 weeks we're talking almost 50 pounds. Not bad when you look at it that way, huh?

Hi Patty. Sorry about problem with eating. I hope you're able to taste your food better. Maybe its due to an oncoming cold or something like that.

Good Morning,
I have another busy day ahead. Gavin spent the night so first I have to feed him, (cereal) get him and me dressed, and drive him home. Then I am going to pick up my Mom and drive us 20 minutes away to the small country store we like. They have whole beef tenderloins on sale for $4.99 a lb. Then back to Mom's and get a permanent in my straggly flat hair. Then I have to keep Gavin again so DD and her hubby can go to the Doctor and see if son in law needs surgery on his back.
Food was good yesterday and excercise was over the top (for me).
Brunch large salad lettuce tomato cukes onions 1/4 shredded cheese 7 huge ripe olives and mayo for dressing
Dinner was 1 6oz pork chop and 1 1/2 cups of boiled okra
water was good but I didn't keep track.
I'll be back!
Jean
