thats exactly what i think too...but he's adamant that this is perfectly legit...and its strange because he doesnt usually fall for things along these lines...he also says he can sign onto this without me but i dont think he can because both our names are on the mortgage

what i really want to do is have him give me all the contact info etc and then run it by the actual LOCAL office who worked with us on teh original mortgage and see what their take is on this

im worried he'll just jump right into this and sign something without me even on it...he's taking it very personally that i'm suspicious of this company

I was watching a Buy your first home episode last night. The young couple expected to get enough free money to make a down payment on their first home.
When it came time to get the so called free money the places wouldn't even return their calls. They had to get higher rate financing elsewhere.
I hope hubby is blowing smoke at you but if it is in both names he can't do a thing legally. You would have to sign or be forged.
Good Luck,
Jean

i just talked to the local mortgage broker that we worked with ...he agrees that it sounds very fishy and is even going to look into the information that the guy gave to hubby...it honestly LOOKS legit so i dunno...and he agreed, it cant be signed legally unless we both sign it

Hope everyone is having a good day & keeping cool!

Yesterday:
B - coffee w/cream & s/f da vinci's
L - 2 turkey & swiss roll-ups w/mayo
D - chicken breast, salad (lettuce, bacon bits, blue cheese dressing)

Tonight is the dreaded baked spaghetti casserole at the neighbors' house. I offered to bring something, but this is a kind of welcome to the neighborhood dinner for us so they wouldn't hear of it. I'll try to fill up on salad and hopefully meatballs.

Holy crap! I was ready to move when there was a possum in the garage. Me = wuss.
Agree that that deal sounds scammy.

ive been doing some research today on that fishy company....the website checks out, i called the BBB and checked that it's a legit company with a few random complaints, i called the contact number and it was answered by a guy with the right name, i called a different branch of the company and verified that there was indeed a RI branch and a guy there by the right name...it still doesnt taste right to me...why would a representative from a branch in Rhode Island be up here in teeny tiny Juneau Alaska??....

we are in a rock-solid 30-year fixed mortgage at 5.5% interest...we've never missed a payment..we're not desperately losing our home...what does someone have to gain by soliciting us?

perhaps it's the other way around and hubby actually approached him via some ad or something...i will have to ask him...he's taking it all very personally though

Jennifer..your mis-read had me rolling on the floor laughing. Do you think it would be humanly posible to eat 12 lbs of okra? I am having a fit of laughter just trying to imagine. All I keep visualizing is a big green slimy explosion LOL!!!!!!!
I assure you it was 12 pieces.
Thanks for giving me a big smile!

Alaska - if this company is basically trying to take over someone's mortgage, would this mean that they would own the home? If so, could they use some loophole to evict the original owners and sell the place without putting in a massive quantity of money in the first place? I'd be wondering what's in it for them?

i dont know....however i have absolutely NO intention of signing ANYthing to begin with...we have an amazingly good loan AS IS and i dont intend to do anything to place that in jeopardy...i just wish i didnt have to go through the whole merry-go-round with my guy before it gets settled down again

he's one of those ppl who are 99% content and 1% always looking for greener grass...he has an awesome job that he loves and yet he still looks at jobs ads....we have a lovely home and yet he still looks at real estate postings...*sigh* i think i just have to wait this one out

Hey y'all. I finally heard from Leroy - he's now in Kuwait. He got stuck in Baghdad longer than expected so he won't be home till Friday or possibly Saturday. No biggie - at least he's out of Iraq. I've got a couple of intersting tidbits to share...

#1 - I got my original wedding ring back on today! I was scrubbing mud off my feet and almost lost my other ring down the drain (its been loose the past few days) so I got out my jewelery box to try and find something else to work till I could get a ring guard. Just for ******s and giggles, I tried to put my original set on - and it slid right on!!! I haven't worn this since I got pregnant with Logan 9 years ago! I almost cried.

#2 - my dog ate my lawnmower. Seriously, he chewed thru the cables on the side of my riding lawnmower. I don't know how he even reached it. I really am beginning to think he's part goat. One more thing to add to Leroy's "Honey Do" list. Stupid &*%$*(& dog!

Okay so anyway, I was good foodwise today - even going down to post to go shopping.

B: blueberry/vanilla protein shake
L: caesar side salad, double cheeseburger (no ketchup, no bun) from B.K.
D: all meat chili over 2 Hebrew nat'l hotdogs cut into "pennies", 1/4 c. shredded cheese over the top
S: none
H2O: not good - only about 40 oz. + diet coke (small from B.K. - 20 oz? 24 oz??) + 20oz. Lipton diet green tea

Hope everyone had a good day and i'll talk at ya tomorrow. 'night.

Good morning,
I am out the door to cut grass. It is supposed to get to 94 today with high humidity. I hope I can finish. I am sitting here waiting for my Advil to kick in so I won't hurt so bad during and after. I guess my back is about as good as it is ever gonna get.
I ate good yesterday although I was hungry all day.
Breakfast: 1 can of vienna sausage and 1/2 cup cottage cheese
Lunch:grilled beef liver and 1/2 cup broccoli salad
snack: 1 small grilled chicken thigh
Dinner: Large lettuce tomato onion and cucumber salad dressed with mayo and 4oz of
steak.
I drank loads of water with a twist of lime...very refreshing.
No food plan for today yet. I am thinking grilled pork chops for dinner with more fresh okra. Leftover salad for brunch with last chicken thigh and cheese added. I will easily drink a gallon of water while I work outside.
I'll be back!
Jean

Jean good food plan for yesterday. Just watch the salt. I love vienna sausages but oh do they play havoc ith my body. Salt being the culprit. To much salt for me spells disaster. Water, water, water, retain it like crazy.

Hi Jennifer, I'm glad to see you're joining right in, that's great.
And I guess after 16 yrs in Texas you would have that Texas drawl.
I'm surprised by how little some of the 300+ group members eat. I have to eat to lose weight. You can see by my mealplans how much I eat. If I don't eat enough my body goes into what's called starvation mode and my weightloss absolutely shuts down completely.
I guess everybody is different. But if any of you find hard or impossible to lose weight. Perhaps your body has gone into starvation mode and you need to eat more to lose.

sorry guys yesterday's FLYlady mission

Mission: Grab your favorite window cleaner and let's bring a shine to the glass. This will only take a few short minutes and while you are at it, shine that sink too.
Your Laundry Room Mission is to clean out your lint filter and double check your vent hose.

Your next mission is to clean out your bathtub. If you don't do it everyday, the bathtub ring takes on a life of its own. Let's wipe down our tubs and get rid of that ring. Your Laundry Room mission for today is to empty the trash can that always seems to get forgotten! You will get bonus points if you remember to replace the bag once you take out the used one!

uggh my checkbook and the bank balance don't match up so i am knee deep in the books for a while..got down really low and didn't realize it!

Power button did not work. Connections looked okay, but no power ON when I pushed button. I just pushed and pushed - and nothing, no chimes, no screen. Bupkis! Got lucky as I tried again today. Umpteen pushes and I got a weak chime, a screen. YAY!

Might be battery. Might need to get a reconditioned battery to make this work.

I'll get here when I can. Miss you when I cannot connect. Ciao for now!
