Jennifer,
It is so easy and I have done it so much my seasonings are to taste but....
1 chuck roast
garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, water to cover, and 6 beef boulion cubes, crockpot on high for the time it takes to get hot. Then turn your crock on low and let it rock for 6-8 hours and it will shred cause it is so tender. Minimal carbs from the dried spices. DO NOT add salt cause the boulion is plenty.
Enjoy,
Jean

I'm starting Atkins Induction tomorrow for a few days then will move on to Atkins '72. Less wiggle room on '72, and I'm a boundary pusher when it comes to eating plans

Good luck- you can do it and this is definitely the right place. I have been doing Atkins for just over 4 weeks and haven't cheated once.. so I KNOW you can do it too!!

Our neighbors across the street just called and invited us over for dinner and a swim tomorrow night. They're having spaghetti...ugh! I figure I'll fill up on salad.

Deb - Sounds nice! I'd love to see pics.

WTG on 4 cheat free weeks! I know I can do it once I get into the zone, but getting into the zone has been harder than I expected this time around.

Deb- Love the addition, awesome

Alaska- couldn't a grizzly bear follow you on your walk ? Could you outrun it....that would certainly pick up the pace

Bill- you are the greatest.

went to see my Cardiologist today, he spotted me from back area, I waved. He was going on about how good I looked and he could see a big difference in me. That helped boost my self esteem....

Love, to all,

Patty

Good Morning,
I had 12 pods of boiled okra last night. It was wonderful! I also had 3 small grilled chicken thighs. All in all it was the best dinner I had in a long while.
I had a miserable night. I woke up at 2am and never got back to sleep. I am going to lunch with a dear friend today at the local K&S cafeteria. There will be no problem with low carb choices there.
I was up so early I was starving at 8:00 am. I ate 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1 can of vienna sausage for breakfast. I think grilled rib eye steak for dinner but not sure yet. I want to wait and see if DH has a good day at work first cause he grills steaks like a pro. His job is giving him and all the co workers a fit. We think they are trying to get some drivers to quit. DH has days of awful pain from rhematoid authritis and I try my best to let him take it easy when he is home.
Any way my resolve to do good is strong.
I'll check you later,
Jean

Hey y'all. I'm just checking in since I forgot to last night. Still no word from Leroy - i'm assuming that he's in Kuwait by now but I'm forwarding my home phone to my cell when I go to the commissary to stock up on his favorite goodies - good thing he really likes low carb - steaks, bacon and butter, oh my!

Yesterday-
B: blueberries (~1/2 c.), 1 oz. queso fresco
L: last of the leftover chicken w/ ranch
D: sirloin steak, mashed cauliflower, green beans
S: 4 s.f. russel stover coconut chocolates
H2O: 100 oz. + 32 oz. decaf. green tea w/ splenda

I'm heading out the door but I'll talk at y'all in a few hours.

RUTH- That's some close calls with the bears. Do you mainly have Black bears in your area. Pennsylvania has a high Black bear population. Its not uncommon to see on the news or read in the paper where a bear wandered into town. I think they're great and majestic animals.

where i live on the coast in the rainforest, we have a HUGE population of bears...they wander all over the whole community because we live at the base of mountains and rainforest, right at the edge of teh ocean...here we have black bears only...up north on the homestead where dad lives, there are both blacks and browns/grizzlies...grizzlies are big and mean but not often do they try to break into things...down here the blackies are like annoying raccoons...they are everywhere and get into anything that smells like food...

down here in Juneau they wander up hillsides, along the coast and all over the town...if they become a nuisance or start acting aggressive they are relocated out of town or put down, depending on the situation...one night my guy was downtown with friends at a bar and he went outside and practically fell over a black bear just right there walking down the sidewalk

does anyone know anything about businesses that are using federal stimulus money to help homeowners pay their mortgage??

there's this guy who's been talking to my husband and who my husband SWEARS is legitimate...he says his company is in rhode island but he's here in alaska in person...hubby told me the name of his company but i cant remember, and says he's researched it so he knows it's not a scam...i'm not quite buying this...hubby says it goes something like this, the company buys out our mortgage or takes it over or something, and then uses stimulus money to help us offset our monthly payments(????) i'm not too sure of all of this and none of it makes sense...i'm definitely not signing a thing for now...

secondly, we're not in the slightest danger of foreclosure or being unable to make our mortgage payments...we're doing just fine...isnt stimulus money supposed to help ppl who are in danger of losing their homes??

what do you all think?

That sounds awful fishy to me. There is no need to gamble if you are doing fine. And be sure to tell hubby there is no such thing as free money.
