Hello all!
I am home from the lake and am proud to report my food choices were good all weekend. I cooked bacon and egg breakfasts had chicken wings for lunch, brats with peppers and onions on Friday night, and grilled beef short ribs for Saturday night. My water was not good and drank way too much diet coke.
Todays food :
2 eggs with bacon and 1 tomatoe slice
1 left over beef rib and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese
Dinner is going to be hamburgers on the grill if possible or if it rains pan fried with peppers and onions.
I have drunk enough water today that I may soon start to float.
Sharon has posted on Houston Heather's weight loss journal. Hurry back to see us Sharon!
Hello Zer. So glad to see you posting.
Alaskan I would give anything to have your energy.
Min I am tired from hearing how hard you have worked. Congrats on your weight loss.
Deb I sure missed seeing your posts this weekend. I am glad to be home.
Bill do you weigh your portions? You sure do have a nice menu rotation.
Dee I hope your weekend has been good.
Jean

Yes I do. My experience is that the stomach has to much influence over what the eye really sees. By this I mean that portion size has a tendency to creep ever so larger and larger. I consider this as the stomach's influence over what you really see as a portion.
This may seem funny to others, but I have never under estimated the amount of food in a portion.

Test yourself some time. Put the food on your plate that you plan to eat. Then before you eat weigh or measure what you have been considering to be the correct portions. You may be in for a shock.

I believe that even on low carb. You can not pile on extra fat, or eat uncontroled protions and still lose weight. Especially if you don't exercise. Just my opinion and that of the Drs Eades, the creators of the Protein Power Plan.

May I join in? You're all so motivating and supportive, and Lord knows I need some motivation and support these days. I think the longest I've managed to stay on plan since the holidays last year has been 2 weeks & I had to buy bigger clothes today. Ugh!

I'm starting Atkins Induction tomorrow for a few days then will move on to Atkins '72. Less wiggle room on '72, and I'm a boundary pusher when it comes to eating plans

its been another hot day today, temps near 80....we took toddler down to the castle playground by the lakes and then him and my guy played in the water at the lake...came home, fed them a late lunch and took a short nap....went to get older son from his friend's and they both came back here for awhile...my guy just took the other kid home, while ANOTHER kid just showed up LOL but thats fine...quick dinner in a bit, then bathtimes...then i'll go walking when it cools off

finally found one of older son's friends...we kept going to the wrong trailer but he INSISTED it was teh right one and they kept saying "he doesnt live here" but i finally ran into the kid and he showed me where they really live...i was right all along, i kept telling daniel that the trailer never had a porch before but oh! he just insisted it was the right place LOL

finally got my tail in gear tonight and got the kitchen cleaned up, kitty litter changed, food/waTER DISH (oops) cleaned and replenished, dishwasher emptied and partly re-loaded...laundry folded...vacuumed and then used this COOL hose attachment to water the garden...way easier than lugging water sprinkling cans LOL

Decided to make the most of the guys on night shift, by asking them to DO ME (heft me up off bed, over to portable commode (TMI?)) before they depart for the day at 6:30. Snoozing later puts me into the hands of lightweight ladies who are busy doing breakfast trays just about when my body gets URGENT (TMI!) and there is no one available who can lift me to my own legs (and a walker) to get sat comfy for what one hopes will be productive (BM, in case you don't know).

So today I asked for assistance at 6am and got it - and got back to bed in time to enjoy breakfast at 7 or 8 or so. My AM dose of morphine arrives at about that time, along with a handful of other pills to make life less challenging.

Morning air is refreshing at 6am and it's good to breathe fresh air after a night of shut-in air. Roommate's cough seems worse at night, so we shut up and hope that will relieve her of a hacking productive cough. Let's hope so!

Monday morn and a chance to make better decisions. Weigh day today! For me, that means sitting bedside and being lifted by a belted pneumatic device that then shows a weight for the person held in a sling and standing upright.

Good morning,
It is stormy and rainy here in NC this morning. I had planned to haul our garbage to the dump and make a WalMart run also.
I have home grown tomatoes (a lot!) on my kitchen counter. It always happens that they all come in at about the same time. They are so good! I am eating them sliced with meals and watching portion size closely.
If the weather clears I will do my planned errands and if not it may turn into a me day for reading and resting.
Breakfast: 2 fried eggs, 2 sausage patties, 3 slices of a small tomatoe and coffee.
Lunch: No plan yet
Dinner: I just thawed a small chuck roast to put in the crockpot with boulion cubes onion and garlic powder. After it gets done I am going to add a few potatoes and carrots and thicken the gravy for Dh...of course I am taking my portion out first. I will probably have some sliced tomatoe on the side.
Zer, Maybe you can get into a new potty routine of going that early in the morning. I hate it when an unexpected urge comes so I try to sit and try every morning about the same time. TMI LOL!
Bill, What kind of scale do you have? Mine is a cheapy and only weighs in ozs. I think you are completely on point about being accountable about portion size.
Check you all later,
Jean

I have an Escali. The Pana #V63 model. I love its features. It weighs in pounds and ounces, ounces, and grams. Now here is the great features of this scale. It also displays in cups or tablespoons. When you choose the volume mode. You key in code numbers for a particular food say brocolli. It will display in cups.
It has a tare function which I use a lot. It has a 6.6 pound maximum capacity. Its pricey at $65. But for me its money well spent.

Good morning all. I got a call from dh today - he's on his way to the airport to start his journey home (prob. tomorrow morning). I'm on pins and needles - I think i'm ready but its been sooooo long since i've seen him that i'm a little nervous that he'll be disappointed that I still look the same. Stupid, I know. He's the one that likes big girls ("I didn't marry a skinny woman") and is usually the one to sabotauge any diet that I start, but I could have been so much smaller if I'd stuck with LC all year. Oh well, just nerves. I've got to make my grocery list and go shopping tomorrow. I'll talk at ya'll later.

BTW: Megan just came bounding downstairs - she broke out of the 120s - 119.8 this morning! Leroy's going to flip his lid - with her spare tire gone she looks very curvy lately. His baby girl isn't a cylinder anymore. hehe

Thank you for all the welcomes!

Bill - I'll post my menu tomorrow. The only day's food I'm sure about is the previous day's

Deb - Good for you going to Curves I used to be a member and enjoyed it. I'm thinking about going back but I've moved since then and it's not as convenient.

Min - I'm so glad your DH is on his way home! You're going to look like heaven to him no matter what!
WTG Megan! How old is she?
