I saw 163.8 on my scale earlier this week, so my weigh in was a teeny bit disappointing, too, but I didn't stay off the scale and saw the bounce from 163.8 to 165.4, so in the end 164.4 seems good. It's all in the perspective, isn't it?

WTG to both of us for staying consistent! Now we just have to chase down Teresa!

For me I think the one thing that is helping me stay away from nuts & PB is having SF jello cups on hand NUTS are EVIL!!!!

I am gonna make some more muffins out of coconut flour & see how I do with adding them into my yocheese/berries routine again. I did pretty well with the yocheese & berries with 1 muffin daily for breakfast for about a month or so....then went on a little binge and haven't allowed myself to go back to that routine. I think I can practice enough self control now to make some more. I just make a batch, wrap them individually and freeze them. Then I can just grab one out every morning

Did you make yourself any muffins for your runs/coffee shop outings?

Woohoo--look at all the big losers around here! Perhaps I'll try to join you all in the losers club next weigh in.

Lisa--an all time low, how exciting!!

Val--well, you knew the bounce up would happen but meeting that goal of under 165 is awesome.....and 6 consistent weeks is great! I haven't had 6 consistent weeks of maintaining let alone losing since before Christmas! (insert blushing smilie which is currently missing)

Kathy--I know, that spelling thing is a curse from my mom---a teacher. And I was the worst speller ever so I'm sure quite a disappointment to her!

You can totally do the portion control thing--you've done it before. Have you ever figured out what triggers off plan eating and/or binging for you? Is it the nuts? It's not like I haven't known this for a long time, but I think I am finally accepting that sugar is it for me, period. It doesn't matter if it's a little or a lot, planned or not, etc...in the end it is always my undoing. I am working really hard right now on convincing myself that I can live forever without it and not be one bit deprived. I know if I can accept that reality then this will all be so much easier. If only my stubborn little brain would turn the corner and just be at peace with it all.

OK--I need all of your help on Kim's menu's. I can do lunch and dinner without too much problem--but what the heck do you eat for breakfast that is induction friendly and not eggs every day?? Before eating yocheese I used to eat pumpkin mousse most weekday mornings---but I don't want to set her up for my sweet tooth problems!

Well for me it is easy because I was never truly a breakfast food loving person so i could eat a burger or steak in the morning or even left overs from the day before.....I actually prefer that over eggs in the morning

Teresa - I'm not a big egg eater, I used to have rollups for breakfast a lot on induction, though I'm not sure if deli meat is strictly okay on induction. I would get smoked turkey or ham or some leaner deli meat and roll it with sliced cheddar or swiss. A swipe with mayo or mustard down the middle before rolling was optional. Very yummy.

Kathy - I never did try the muffin thing for my coffee shop/long run issue. I decided to try protein bars instead. The lazy way, I know, but it was easier. I brought a protein bar and a protein drink actually, and ate them last week. It worked really well.

I may still try the coconut flour muffins though, they're still a great idea.

My Weight Watchers weigh in went well. I'm down 17 lbs according to them, 1.2 more than my scale says, probably the difference between clothes, time of day and not eating breakfast today. I get a WW keychain when I hit 18 lbs lost (10% of my weight when I started with them), so I'm hoping I hit that next week. Amazing the little things that thrill me! The stupid keychain is worth less than the weekly meeting fee, I'm sure!

Ahhhh, but it's what that key chain represents that gives it worth!! Congrats on the fantastic weigh in!!

OK--no wonder I can't do induction--you guys are all grossing me out with the breakfast choices! That said--any other ideas? Not that you're going to want to help me out now that I've called you all gross (insert laughing smilie!). This is really tough. I hope I don't ever have to do induction (now insert the blushing smilie!).

I bet if you were to do induction...actually scrap that...I bet if you were to eat nothing that had any sweetener in it for seven days you would see goal

Actually, since you seem to have a problem with my sweets consumption , you would be proud of me. Other than yocheese and berries I haven't eaten many sweets for awhile now. I'm too lazy to make anything. And I don't add sweeteners to anything else. Unfortunately it's not getting me to goal any quicker.... But I've tried the no sweets thing before and it never has helped me drop any faster. In reality since that is where I get most of my fats from I probably would do better to increase them believe it or not.

Now, what I really need to do is drop my protein since history proves that I seem to lose best that way. But I've been too lazy to do that too....

Kim's 1 week induction plan proposal

OK, the first 2 you will need for dinners:

Scalloped Cauliflower and Green Beans

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

These 3 are all ideas for breakfasts:

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

OK, here's the deal--take it or leave it!

Breakfast every day is some kind of egg thing, but no meat or cheese. The recipes above look like some good options but there are tons more if these don't appeal to you. But--no meat and no cheese. You can add an OMM made with flax only (no nut flours, CQ, etc)and topped with butter if you would like. If you are totally opposed to an OMM then an oppsie or whatever those things are called, but I think the OMM would be better.

Lunch every day will be a salad. On days when you'll be having beef for dinner--then the meat should be chicken, fish or lean pork loin on your salad. When dinner is chicken or fish then beef on your salad---like a taco salad. Any raw low carb veggies can be added. Only low carb high fat salad dressings, preferably homemade.

Dinner--make 1 casserole--I picked out White Castle Pie but if something else looks better, go for it. Have this on at least 2 nights. Have fish at least 2 nights and steak or whatever else on other nights. The cauli green bean casserole can be had on nights when you are having plain meat. When having the casserole, you can have a plain veggie--broc, cauli, green beans, whatever. Add butter and seasonings to the plain veggies, no cheese.

So--here is what a day might look like:

b--scrambled eggs with roasted red peppers and avocado (is avocado an induction veggie?) and an OMM
l--large taco salad w/veggies, salsa and sour cream (1/4 lb meat--no cheese)
d--salmon in dill sauce, cauli/green bean casserole

Sf jello or a cream cheese muffin can be had 1x per day but with a meal only. No sf pop or sf kool aid, etc. Unsweetened tea and water---as much as you want!

How does that sound?

Teresa - have you ever looked into the Optimal Plan? I think that's what they call it. It's that Polish doctor's plan, Dr. Kwasniewski. Lower protein, higher fat, carbs in some ratio to the above. Not that you need it really, but maybe they have some ideas about lowering protein that might help.

Yes---I actually was following those ratios pretty closely when I lost down to 140 this winter. I really, really liked it--and liked how I felt eating that way. So why oh why can't I get myself to go back to that??? That I don't know for sure. I don't love a lot of the fats that are easy to add--like butter and fatty meats. So I had to get creative and do a lot of meal planning....which was getting easier and I'm sure would become no big deal if I would just get my head back in the game.

I also think I'm a bit scared of all of the fat. Not for the fat itself because I think my body really thrived on that. But because after getting to that low I started binging--not sure why--I think my body and mind were freaking out with the new lower weight. After a binge I would go right back to high fat which ultimately ended up being a disaster....thousands of cals in carbs and crap and then high fat and I packed the lbs back on really quickly..... So I think I want to make sure I'm really stable before I dive back into the super high fat stuff again. Or maybe I'm just being really lazy. Or...who knows?! I think I'm just in kind of a slump and really unhappy with myself for not being able to maintain.

(((Teresa))) I read a while ago that maintaining is really just losing & regaining the same 5 lbs over and over again. It's certainly true for me. I certainly understand wanting to get to our goal weights, but don't be so hard on yourself. You weigh 150 freakin' pounds! And you used to weigh 350! And you've maintained that loss for a long time now. You are more successful at weight loss & maintenance than about 98% of the population. You are a rock star! I don't want to hear about how you are lazy or can't maintain. You are doing a fabulous job.

ok. I start tomorrow. I'll have eggs for breakfast (I like them, so shouldn't be a problem) and a salad for lunch. Then I'll get to the store and figure out what's for dinner. Can we compromise to 1 can of diet soda and the rest unsweetened tea, water and coffee?

Morning and Happy Thursday!

Kim--OK, 1 diet soda but it must be consumed at a meal. Oh yeah, and coffee is fine as long as it's black.

Thanks ladies for the perspective---I need that sometimes...OK, a lot of times!

Well, I changed nothing on my computer at work yet today I have all of my smilies back....? Weird.

Long busy day today, I'm already wishing it were over. Have a good one ladies!

You will have to explain the fuschia avatar. I like it though, it's rather calming in a fuschia sort of way.

I stayed off the scale. I'm below 165, I wasn't willing to jeopardize that with a little reality. If the scale bounced up today, I don't want to know about it.

I think for me that is one major step if I can honestly do it.

Lisa~ Congrats on the new low, I'm glad you are happy and found something that is working for you

Kim~ I wish you luck on the 1 diet pop & the black coffee.......Miss Teresa is mean

I so hate it when I lose posts!!!

I have no good explanation for the fuschia avi except that it's my favorite color and I was in such a funky mood this morning I couldn't think of anything else.

I agree staying off the scale is hard--but it's much easier than the stress it's been causing me lately when I get on it! I know I'll eventually go back to daily weighing--which personally I see nothing wrong with, if my head is in the right place.

My day is flying by thankfully. Unfortunately I have to end it in a 2 hour meeting this afternoon. I just don't focus well for that long, and my butt hurts when I have to sit that long!! But--when it's over--the work day is done and it's almost the weekend!!

Anyone have any exciting plans this weekend?

I have to give up peanut butter when I'm trying to lose, too. I agree it can put me in a lousy mood! LOL!

However, I'm not prepared to give up my diet coke. I still drink lots & lots of it.

I actually wasn't trying to give it up! As much of a pb fan as I am, I won't eat it off the spoon--it's always in something or on something--and I just haven't made anything lately. Maybe this weekend I'll make some pb muffins or pb cheesecake or something. I know it sounds crazy--but as long as I eat it in moderation I think I lose better when I eat it....it might be the whole fat thing though--not sure.

Do you drink the diet Coke with splenda or aspartame (or as I call it---bug spray!)?

funny thing is.. I love nuts...but I don't crave them..............I just made fried nuts and my DS grabs a handful when ever he goes in the kitchen............I am happy to have nuts around especially when I am starving and on the road but a few is enough to make me happy until next day......Also since i switched to the Natural PB I can have a bottle last for months and months........I recently bought a bottle just to put in some Coconut Oil Bark

Lisa~ Having control over nuts would make me a very happy person!
Most of the times when I do eat them they don't even taste that good to me.....they are just a "legal" snack....a semi-substitute....for something I'd rather be eating

Haven't been to the store yet but day one ok so far:

3 eggs with butter
salad with turkey, cheese tomatoes and ranch
grilled chicken and faux potato salad with one diet soda

Only 1 cup of coffee, 64 oz ice tea and 20 oz water.

I'm seriously going through junkie withdrawal of sweeteners--I ordered soda with lunch and took one drink before I remembered and asked for iced tea
