Lisa--the only way I managed not to eat them all was to immediately share them with some of my staff! Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I would have eaten them all.....malitol be damned!

So--when are you going to FL? Where exactly and what are you planning to do? Sounds fun but I hate FL in the summer.....but I'm sure you're used to that kind of weather!

Val--glad you made it through the hungries. Here's to seeing that 164 very soon!

Kathy---hope your birthday was great!

Morning sleepy heads!

Happy 4th of July!

It's rainy and chilly here--bummer after having such a beautiful week but guess it had to end at some point, too bad it's on a holiday that is usually spent outside.

We leave on the 28..................don't really have any plans because like I said ....it was an unplanned vacation. Normally I would go shopping....but I want to lose at least 2 more sizes before I shop for clothes again....so around cruise time was my plan.
We will most probably hit a few theme parks......but right now we are just playing things by ear.....which is fine by me

I have never been there in Summer before. I hear the heat is terrible...worse than in T&T because we get the sea breezes blowing across by FL heat is like an oven

Now if you could get a cheap flight over ......we could hang out in only airconditioned places...just saying

Happy 4th of July to you guys! I hope you are having a good day!

Lisa - my hair is a little longer and scragglier now than it was then. One of my thoughts for a cut is to go back to something a little more like that, but I'm also thinking of going a little shorter, too, kind of like a Meg Ryan cut - see attached. Anyway - when do you leave for Florida. I love impromptu vacations, too, I hope you have a great time.

Teresa - we had rain all week, today is the first nice day we've had in a while. We must be in opposite weather cities.

Kathy - Hope your birthday was awesome!

I saw a 164.0 on the scale this morning, I'm *very* happy. But, I'll have to stay off the scale for a while now, if I'm smart, because after such a big whoosh, I'll bounce all around 164, 165 for a while now before it ever gets quite this low again.

Val---wooohoooo on the 164!!! STAY OFF THE SCALE---GO HIDE IT NOW--NO SABATAGING ALLOWED!! Now send me some of your mojo so I can see the 140's again some day soon!!

Lisa--I would love to come down and see you! Let me know what city/cities and what dates and I'll see what I can find for flights. If you're going to be in Orlando I should be able to find something decent pretty easy. As much as I hate FL in the summer--I think I could manage it for a day or two to meet ya! That would be very fun!!

Val - On seeing 164 on the scale.....your hard work is paying off.............as for the Meg Ryan cut....although i think you would look great with it........it is very short for someone who is not accustomed to short hair.....for example do you put your hair up in a
'pony-tail' to run?...if yes... it might be difficult to do that with that haircut.....BUT once you have weighed all the pros and cons and are still happy...i would say GO FOR IT

Teresa - Sorry I would not know until we get there what days we would actually be hitting Orlando......it will be my SIL making those plans and driving us around.......if you can run away 'spur of the moment' that would most probably be what would have to happen..........we would be in Ft Lauderdale from 28Jul to 11Aug......WOOHOO it would be so great to finally meet you

Ahhh, bummer! Although I love spontaneous stuff, my job/responsibilities don't really allow for that. But the cruise is only 8 months away!

I'm back from my day, sporting a new haircut. It's not quite the Meg Ryan one above, and I'm mostly happy with it. She thinned out the hair a lot, maybe a bit more than I'd like, I'll have to see how it settles in. I'll try to get DH to take a pic tonight and if I get a good one, I'll change my avatar so you can see it.

I'm pretty sure I've bruised a rib. I did it earlier this week, and it hurts like hell, but I was still able to run. I had a rough time at poledancing today though, it used too many of the muscles around. I hope it heals quickly.

I was mostly joking about putting the scale away, but I'm kind of thinking maybe I really should. I *know* it's going to bounce up again, that's my pattern. I should stay off it and just assume I'm 164.0 until next Wednesday! I'll be happier than know it bounced up to 165 again!

Val--I'm telling ya, put the scale away!! And, wouldn't it be cool if you wait and it actually was 163 on Weds--that would be a nice little surprise!

A bruised rib does not sound fun at all. Take it easy.

I want to see pictures!!!!

Well, I'm done with all the eating events for the weekend. Overall I did good but way too much food, especially protein. Tomorrow I need to buckle down and get serious about getting a few pounds off. I have a family reunion in 2 weeks. I've seen some of the relatives several times this spring so they've seen me up and down--I think I've been a different size each time I've seen them. Some I haven't seen since Christmas though and I'm up probably 6-7 lbs since then. Doesn't sound like much but that's a full size--blah. So I'd love to get half of that off in the next couple of weeks. It's not like any of them will care.....but I do!!

Hello girls

I did have a nice birthday and was a really good girl.....I was rewarded with a little weightloss the next day. Hopefully I am on a roll again. I know that peanut butter & or any nut at all is my downfall I am going to start avoiding them like the plague again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teresa~ I hear ya on the 6-7lbs being a full size in pants.....sucks doesn't it!! I have a couple family reunions coming up soon and would like to have a few more pounds off by then. I'm sure most people would not be able to notice any weight gain.....but I feel like everyone is looking, ..................thinking here she goes again!!!

Vee~ I love that haircut.....I would love to have straight hair! My hair is curly and I have ALWAYS wanted to have more hairstyle options.

I've changed my avatar to show you the new cut. It's not exactly what I wanted, but it's cute. I'll live with it and see how it goes. It's not the most flattering picture of me either, I'm going to try to take a new one.

Congrats on the continued weight loss Kathy! On plan for your birthday, I'm very impressed!

I hear you on the 6-7 lbs meaning a full size, too. Funny how that is, when at our top weights, 25 - 30 lbs might be a full size, at least it seemed that way. I'm down about 15 lbs now from May and it's amazing how differently my clothes fit. Some are way too big and some fit properly and I can't believe I was wearing them before the way they were! And some I can get into that I couldn't!

I snuck a peek at the scale this morning - 163.8. I'm eating more today (on purpose) though so it may jump tomorrow. I'm trying not to get attached to the number, but it's just such a *nice* number for me!

Hope everyone had great 4ths of July! Teresa - you sound like you are glad it's over, if only because all the food is done!

There you are Kathy--I was worried you got a little too wild on your b-day or something! No nuts or nut butters? Well, there could be worse things. I also hate that paranoia that people are looking and judging. It's mostly in our minds, but there are some that probably get off on that. I had lunch Friday with a friend I haven't seen last since last fall. I weigh probably exactly the same as I did last I saw her. It was so nice to not feel paranoid or self conscious about all I've gained. Of course it would have been nicer to have been at an all time low or something!

Val--girl, you are on fire with that scale! Now--what did I say?? Stay off of it!! I love the new hair cut--looks very cute and summery!

Well, my plans to start being very deligent starting today lasted all of a few hours. I've had lots of low carb junk and overall just lots of food. I was planning to have a big ole steak tonight as my 'good bye' to excess protein but actually I think I'll be too full still by then to even finish half of it. I really have to put a stop to this now because overeating low carb stuff just leads to eating high carb crap for me.

Val--yes, I'm glad the holiday weekend is almost over simply because of the food. Sad, I know. I used to be able to just enjoy the time with family and friends and food was a secondary thing. Once I'm fully back in the groove I will be back there but right now I just wasn't quite in a good enough spot. I have got to get back solidly in my groove soon because the holidays are not that far off and I don't want to be wishing them away just so I can avoid a binge.

Teresa~ That is how this weekend has been for me.....food has pretty much been a secondary thing....amazing I can actually say that!! That is how most of my weightloss was...it was easy for me to just say no. The past couple months...maybe since Christmas, has been a different story. I have been saying F it too many times and have been on a weightloss rollercoaster. Hopefully I am back and I will be seeing the 150's again soon

And today I could eat a freaking house. Seriously. I have the hungries like you wouldn't believe. I've tried all my tricks, giving in with some legal treats (Atkins PB cups), a strong, low carb meal (lunch, eggs), pickles to kill the cravings (didn't work). I've eaten a great deal already today, which is okay. Calories have been low lately and I know this backfires on me. I had planned to eat more today to make up for it, I'm just hitting the point of lack of control and that freaks me right out. This is a pattern for me, get below 165, then all hell breaks loose, I lose control and I regain back up to the 170 mark. I really, really, really don't want to do that again. I want to stay under 165 and finally get into the 150s.

I just don't seem to have the tools to stop this. I don't know what to do. I'm going to go clean the bathroom. Maybe I can distract myself.

Val----so have you been able to distract yourself?? I totally understand the lack of control freaking you out and then hell breaks loose....been there, done that. Have you gone out for a walk or a jog? Sometimes if I can get totally away from everyone and everything for awhile it helps.

I just took a 3 hour nap. I guess that's one way to avoid eating!

Kathy--sounds like you have your groove back---yay you!!

I should have taken a 3 hour nap. That would have helped!

Anyway, I have made it through okay. I ate more than usual, but that's okay, the calories were still within my target. At the very upper limit of that limit, but within.

Morning....it's Monday....blah.

Didn't sleep worth crap last night although that's to be expected after a 3 hour nap!

Val--glad you made it through the day. So, what's the plan for today? Are you eating much fat or are you restricting that due to calories?

Any big plans for your birthday next week?

Where's Kim? Shouldn't she be back from Vegas by now? Or did she decide to run off and become a showgirl?

Mondays are blah. I have my quarterly reporting due tomorrow at 10am though, so I've got a busy day today. At least that will keep me occupied and time will fly by.

Teresa - I am restricting fat, it's pretty much the only way to get my calories down. On regular maintenance, I eat a lot of cheese & nuts. I pretty much have to cut out nuts all together and cheese as snacks when I diet. I do cut back on fat even further, in the least noticeable ways I can, for me. I use low-fat balsamic dressing on my salads, but it's a good dressing, so I don't feel deprived there. I use low-fat feta on my salads, but I can't tell the difference between that and regular fat, so it's no hardship, we actually use low-fat feta all the time. I use non-stick spray instead of butter or oil to make eggs or cook vegetables in. That I notice a bit, but can live with. We always eat lean proteins, so that was never a problem. And then there are a few places, I just deal with the calories, like with eggs. I'd rather have two real eggs than an egg white omelette - yuck!

My birthday plans are to run a 5k race! The Learn to Run clinic I'm leading at our Running Store had their goal race set for an unusual one that is on a weeknight. The day that happens to be my birthday this year! Which is fine by me, I'll enjoy that! We get our birthdays off at work, and I took the Friday as a vacation day, so I'll have a four day weekend. One of Jim's buddies from highschool is getting married that weekend, so we'll go the wedding. It's about an hour's drive a way, close to wine country in Ontario, so we are actually thinking of booking a B&B for the Friday night, driving down early Friday with our bicycles and spend Friday & Saturday before the wedding (it's at night) bicycling around wine country, visiting wineries. We've done that before and as long as the weather is good, it's lovely. I love wine, too, so sampling all the wines is fun!

My weight is up this morning, to 165.6 lbs. Up almost 2 pounds from yesterday. I knew it would be. I could feel myself getting more bloated as the day went on, from eating more yesterday and just in general. This morning my bad foot is very swollen and my rings are tight. Maybe it's the warm weather returning? I know I ate more food than usual yesterday, that would do it, too. And it's a pattern for me, drop a couple "virgin" pounds and then bounce back up, sometimes for a week or so.

But, I'm happy to discover that I'm not upset about it. I know the weight will go back down if I stick to what I'm doing. Not that I'm saying I have any guarantee that I can do that, just that I'm not worried that anything is wrong, or not working, or not fair or anything like that. If I don't re-lose those two pounds by my Wednesday weigh in, I'm still down from last week, below my old range of 167-175, and fitting into all my clothes. What more can I ask for right now?

Gosh, I wrote a novel this morning!

Hope everyone is doing well, Kim, Lisa & Kathy - how are you guys?

Teresa - hope your Monday isn't too blah. Don't work too hard!

Val---that sounds like a great birthday!!

I did the fat restriction thing a lot last year to try to lower calories....in the end it didn't work for me. I kept circling around the same weight and it seemed to set off more binging and off plan eating episodes for me. I think I do best lowering cals with more fat, as odd as that sounds. I just have to get my head back into the less protein more fat thing. Not sure why that's so hard for me to get back to--I really enjoy it but I have to 'think' more to make it work and I hate thinking about macros and balancing and all that stuff! But--I'm going to do that starting this week and we'll see how it goes. If nothing else I know I feel better when I eat that way.

All of my afternoon meetings have been cancelled--woohoo! Now I hope to get caught up on junk that I'm way behind on. I would love it if I could ever leave work---even just once---with everything totally caught up/done!

Vee~ Your weekend plans sound lovely I did have a nice birthday filled with family and fireworks.........but your plans sound very romantic & relaxing....except for the 5k I hope you have nice weather.

Lisa~ I almost amazed myself with my eating this weekend. I did eat a little more fruit than I normally do, but it has not hurt me on the scale. I don't want to jinx myself mentioning any numbers....but I think the scale is moving in the right direction again.

Teresa~ Did your day go any better? I hope you get some good sleep tonight

The day didn't get any better or worse....just a typical meh Monday. I would so love to go to bed right now but then I'd be up at midnight so I'll try to refrain but it's going to be hard.....

Where can I find a Notary? I'm assuming I'm going to have to go to the bank or the post office or something?? Anyone know?

You should be able to find a notary at both places you mentioned, some grocery stores require the managers to be notaries. Our grocery store has the service listed with stamps, fax, copies, money orders, etc. on a sign behind the service center.

I thought you would like the hottie of the week
FYI do not type a day of the week along with the word hunk when searching images........you might get more than you bargained for!!!!!!

FYI do not type a day of the week along with the word hunk when searching images........you might get more than you bargained for
OK, now you know I'm going to try this but tomorrow, I'm too sleepy right now and I want to enjoy it If that darn sun would hurry up and go down I would be in bed! Somehow it just seems wrong to go to sleep while it's still light out.

And tomorrow is only Tuesday.....

I feel mean making my kids go to bed when it is still daylight but if I wait until it's dark there is no down time for mom and dad.

I typed sunday hunk and after a couple pages of images came up with some....OMG images!!!!! The work hottie is much safer when searching for images for some reason.

Hunk or hottie....who would have thought there would be a difference! Well, now we know.

I think I need a 'mean mom' to make me go to be right now! Actually, I'm going to go anyway. I just dumped a whole glass of water in my lap and it was like total slow motion....I saw that I was losing grip on the cup but I just couldn't do anything to stop it. Then I was so tired that I didn't react when the cold water hit my legs (I have on shorts)....so I'm pretty sure that means it's time to go to bed....light out or not!

Night!

I'm back and I couldn't believe you guys hadn't posted anything since last Tuesday! Then I finally realized you must have started a new thread!

I had a good time, ate too much, gained a couple pounds and now am kicking my butt about it. Pretty much par for the course for me. Ran last night for the first time in 2 weeks.

Now I've got 8 months before the cruise. Time to focus and get it done. Teresa, Vee and Kathy--you want to plan my menus? LOL!

Happy belated birthday Kathy--it's the best month for birthdays!

I can't believe I will be 45 in a couple of weeks

Good morning all

I have to mow my yard today, it's sunny so maybe I'll put on my bathing suit & get some sun while I'm getting some work done. First I have to go to my mom's and dye her hair....I need to do my own hair too grays!!

Tomorrow is weigh-in day, it sounds like everyone is ready
