I saw Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino last week. 5 thumbs up!!!!

I can see why there is a rumor that it's last movie. The ending wasn't what I was expecting. People filed out of the theater very quietly.

Had to be a good movie, he was drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Really wasn't any sex in it, dang it. Basically, he plays a racist, bigoted irreverent man with a soft heart. He reminded me a lot of my dad, actually. He lives in an area that has had an influx of Hmong, he keeps his house and yard tidy while the rest of the houses around him are being run down. He hates the Hmong neighbors, the boy tries to steal his classic '70's Grand Torino, but then befriends them and defends the boy and his sister.

The language isn't bad, just typical biggoted redneck talk. It is great to see the transformation take place with him.

off to a better start today. i did my wii fit, played some wii sports. my eating has been great tho and according to the wii fit i'm on a steady downslide even tho i hadn't used it in 5 days. i lost another .7 lbs. total is 2.9 in 18 days. i guess it's a good loss....nice and slow. as long as it keeps going down i'm happy. I will NOT meet my goal of 15 lbs lost this month but at least i am losing.

hope everyone had a great weekend. it's warming up here but still a bit cold..probably high 30's low 40's....still dipping into the 20's here at night. my mom said it was 1 degree in Pontiac the other day. Stay warm!!

[COLOR="Blue"]Wow, so many posts to catch up on. There is no way to reply to everyone so I will just say that I have been reading but just crazy busy and not much time to post.....that is why I waved a couple pages ago so you all knew that I was here in spirit

I have been working alot this week and it has been sooooo cold. The windchill some days was 20 - 30 below.....not as cold as some other plades but when you work outside it is plenty cold enough. We have been busy and I have been blessed and been selling enough to keep my bills paid and be comfortable.

Darrell goes back to work tomorrow I think it is a bit too soon but he thinks he is ready and his doctor told him that he would let him try it. I just worry about him reinjuring his shoulder as his job is very physical. He is very bored and going stir crazy so it is off to work for him tomorrow. Reesey is going to be a complete and total basket case when he is gone. She has been used to him being home for over 2 months and she has separation anxiety issues anyway.......I hope she deals with it ok.

So I have to share something that happened to me last night that really disturbed me. My bff Robin, Aliyah, Aliyha's friend and myself had gone to Walmart. We were only in there for an hour and when we came out there were fliers on almost all of the windshields. They were fliers from one of the largest Neo-Nazi Groups on the Nation. It was talking about Jews and Terrorism and our tax dollars funding Jews as a Terrorist Nation. I live in a very nice area of town and I was just shocked to find something like this so close to home and it really bothered me. When I got home I ooked up some stuff on the internet and saw that they did a story on one of the local tv stations on the 7th about the same group. They had handed out another flier to "White Women" warning of the "high potential" of being raped by black gang bangers.

So I started thinking....my daughter was with me and what would hae happened if they had been putting that on my car as we walked up to it? There is nothing that bothers me any more than white supremacist's.......all they stand for is hate and I find it very disturbing. It was just a huge slap in my face of the extreme sign of the times we are living in and it really made me sad

OK........on to something more pleasant......well if you consider laundry pleasant I am trying to relax and get some laundry done before Aliyah has volleyball pratice this afternoon.[/COLOR]

Melly~ It is a twisted world that we live in and it isn't ok for groups like this to promote hate. I know we live in a free country but this does upset me. I am glad you were safe and didn't bump into them. When I was in high school the KKK came to town with all there big guns and had a thingy because they wanted to set up a headquarters here. However, the community let it be known they were not welcome and not wanted. So maybe it would have to be a community effort to say we don't want this here.

too bad that they weren't at your car Melly...they wouldn't know what hit em!!!! seriously...i'm glad that you dodged them. we live very close to the grand master of the KKK..he lives a few towns over. besides that we've had terrorists and the like crossing the border here at our port....I am thankful for border patrol and i mind my own business so luckily there's no problem but it is very disconcerting when we are reminded of where we live and what we have to deal with in this world. maybe the government should take some measures in squelching terrorism right here at home.

Good Morning Peeps... Well I am still doing two jobs Doesnt sound like its going to end very soon. Had a water pipe burst in one of the rentals over the weekend so I am still trying to get that mess cleaned up. Can get the lines out of the w-3 so looks like I will be hand typing the w-2s for that along with the w-3. I am thinking I should be met at the office door with a valuim and a bloody mary in the morning

We have to stop at the renters house for LJ's parents the rent was due on the 15th and they have not paid yet. Since the rental is litteraly in our front yard his parents have asked us to collect it.
Honestly I like the guys but not in my front yard.
I had hoped since some of the roomies changed this year it would be better. They are party animals. Fun to be around but not when you have to be up at the crack of dawn and they keep u up all night from the noise. The understand next time it happens nice Shan is not coming up to ask for it to be turned down but mr officer will be there instead.
