hope u feel better soon. Melinda, if you can get him to do lc with you it will be so much easier. Try making things that he'll enjoy eating. Salads are great, I make for dh ceasar salad with real bacon, parmessan cheese, etc and he loves it, doesnt even feel like you are on a diet. I add blackened chicken or fish. I am steaming a cauliflower to make the mash potatoes, I like to eat that with meatballs but I have no meat at home, gotta go buy some. I think i'll freeze it in separate containers to have ready for lunch when I make the meatballs. Dh wont try that stuff but I dont mind it too much.

Another Monday, another try.
I have food I can eat finally. My Christmas tree is out of the way so I can use my treadmill. I don't dare weigh. ![]() I'm making the cabbage, rotel tomatoes, hamburger dish tonight for me and a tater tot casserole for the family (I use real, sliced potatoes though) That will be dinner for them tonight and dinner for me 2 or 3 nights. My daughter likes the cabbage stuff too so she may help me eat it. I really need to start eating something before noon. That is so hard for me. It's just a matter of laziness really. I don't want to stop cleaning or whatever to eat. We are selling our hummer and are fixing up a $150.00 car we got. I just can't afford the payment and the insurance with my teenage daughter and soon to be home from college teenage son on that and my husband's truck. I will miss it. It goes anywhere in the snow, but we won't be so strapped. I hear you on the high price of food Melinda. We have been eating a lot of pasta and high carb stuff. Now maybe I can afford food. We may join the athletic club. It's full of rich, snobby people but it's close and my 9yo can go. It's a family facility. It's $90.00 a month but my oldest son's membership to Gold's Gym is $39.00 by itsself (I got him a year membership for his birthday last March.) Hopefully he can join with us on the family plan even though he is 19. He lost 50 lbs last year. Apparently he can't cook. lol He will be home at the end of this month. My grocery bill will go up but he is going to pay us a little rent. Onward and upward. |

One more thing. I told my husband last night that I don't feel he supports me in my weightloss. He is a junk food junky. He eats tons of crap at night and usually makes a munchy run after dinner.
My daughter and youngest son are starting to show it too. My son's pants are getting tight. He gets plenty of exercize so I know it's our eating habits. I don't want them to suffer like my oldest son and I have. My husband's weight never changes more than a few pounds. He is 6'4 and weights around 217. I hate being a foot shorter than him and weighing way more. I bought stuff like yogurt, fruit, beef jerky, and nuts for snacks and I am going to hide them and dole them out to the kids. They eat way too much crap. One good thing is they have never had much soda. I just don't buy it. My mom buys it when she is here but she limits them. I'm off to eat, drink more coffee, and start cleaning. Good luck to everyone in this new year. Let's post a lot and keep the thread going. I am going to do my part from now on. |

Jaz, I hope you can sell your Hummer. We tried to sell our beautiful Pathfinder..... it was a dream to drive... but no one was buying anything at the time because of the gas prices so we lost it to the bank. I'm so upset about what happens once you have a repo.... but we really didn't have a choice. But I do understand how hard it is. We have a family of 7, 4 adult appetites over the age of 16, and 3 adult appetites under the age of 12. LOL
The kids can eat more than the adults! I don't buy junk though. A snack for them is a cup of whole grain cereal and a yogurt or an apple and peanut butter. But those are the expensive things! A bag of chips is cheaper, but in the long run I'm concerned more about their health. Their immune systems are strong and they fight off colds and flus with lightening speed. So it actually saves me from doctor bills and medication costs. Back to school and work tomorrow. Give me strength! I'm going to TRY to get to Curves every morning before school and every other Saturday. That will give me 5 days one week and 6 days the next. My weight is slowly still moving in the right direction, even though I have not been sleeping or eating well. I hope to be out of the 250's this coming week. That will be a milestone for me. I've been in the 250's and up for probably a year now. Lordy be the day when I see 150 ..... talk about a party! LOL Talking about 150 - actually... that would be the "dream" goal for me. I don't really want to be smaller than that, even though the charts say I should weigh 130. I felt my best, and had the curves in the right places at 165 - 170. Heck, I'd be happy with 180 right now! So, my first goal is to be out of the 250's. Next goals are the 10 pound marks. When I hit my pre-marriage weight of 218, I'm treating myself to a massage. At 199, I'm going clothes shopping. At 180 - I might do something fun and crazy like a day cruise or something... (if the money is there.... these are dreams ya know. LOL) What are your goals and dreams?

gm all.. well I am at 280 this morning
It is kinda of getting hard . I have been having cravings already and DH is back to eating what he wants. He is trying to help me , Like last night we were at wal mart getting stuff to make for dinner tonight and he wanted spaghetti. So we was looking in to some Low card sauce. The one that had the lowest carbs was 9 carbs and 3.99 a can when I could get two of the higher carbs sauces for .94 a can.. I told him just get the .94 cans and I would eat some thing Else.I am so tired.. It must be me coming off all the carbs. ![]() I have started not letting the kids eat all kinds of junk . Last night they had celery and peanut butter for snack. So they are coming off all the candy and cookies we had over Christmas.Hugs to all ![]() ![]() menu B..sc eggs ,bacon coffee/davinci and heavy cream L.. leftover steak and cabbage D..some ground meat and a salad S.. celery, pickles, olives, hot cheese, sf jello is needed |

Melinda - For spaghetti sauce check Hunts..I think they have a no sugar added sauce and that is a pretty cheap sauce (in our area anyway) or even check Ragu...I have some "light" Ragus that were on sale...I will check when I get home but I THINK they are no sugar added as well...or else the carbs are pretty low, which is why I bought them.
Menu looks good...just keep at it!!! |

Hey everyone! I'm away from home so I haven't weighed. Just putting some distance between me and husband. He has pulled his last trick on me, I can't take anymore.
So, I'm focusing on me for a change. I took Jillian Micheals quiz for the Biggest Loser diet. I didn't join the diet site, but here are the results it gave me. You're a balanced oxidizer. This is the fancy term for your metabolic rate. It simply means that you need equal proportions of protein, carbs, and fat to process the nutrients in your food optimally, and to produce and use the resulting energy. Lucky you — your diet is the easiest to follow! You feel your best on a diet that incorporates a wide range of foods, and your ideal macronutrient ratio is 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% fat. sounds good to me! |

I cant believe I have not been able to check the posts or make a post. I said I was going to check often, it gives me will power but at work its almost impossible and at home I just get so busy.I'm glad everyone is doing well and sticking to plan. I have been doing well myself too. I have started exercising, Monday I did a little bit of running in the garage, its been so long since I jog. I havent done induction, I'm doing higher carbs but have done well. The scale is moving very slowly but that's ok. I've been checking my sugar every now and then and its been 102 or 105, much better than during the christmas holidays. Its amazing how what we eat affects our body, bp, etc. Torri, that ratio seems to work for you. I remember when you were doing the curves plan or ww you did well (stay away from wheat though), I still remember that. Wonder how Coleen is doing...hope she returns. You know, you guys talk about shoveling snow, tonight is going to be one of the coldest day so far......in the 50s I was actually doing landscaping outside today when I got home from work, in scrubs and a tshirt. Funny how different our weathers are.Well I'm off to do some shores. Good night everyone and keep sticking to it. |

I had kind of a fun night last night. My daughter and her friend were going to a concert in Salt Lake City. We didn't want her to drive so we drove her. We had 3.5 hours to kill.
We went and saw bedtime stories. I liked it fairly well and my son really liked it. Then we found a Walmart. It had a 2 story parking garage and an escalator inside. It also had an escalator you could put your cart on. I'm not used to the big city. ![]() I skipped the popcorn, although I used to have it as a sometimes treat when I lost so much weight in 2007. |
