I am doing fine, waiting for my exercise bud to finish with her grannie duties so we can go work out. I hve the feeling she will not be able to go. Wish I had just gone on this morning and got it over with. My goal is 2 hrs each day 5 days a week. Food wise I am on plan, eggs/bacon with coffee/cream this morning. Chicken salad for lunch and will hve steak for dinner. How is your day progressing? Hope you got some exercise in during lunch. I did 40 squats earlier. Hve been up and down stairs 2 times.....as u can see I am counting movements Read where movement every 15 mins adds up to a full workout at the end of day.

I hve never riced cauliflower. I like it lumpy

Hi friends. I'm so glad to see some of the old gals pop back in. Donna I've been thinking of you lately, maybe because I cant stick to plan and i remember how well you and I were doing a few years back.
Well, life is OK with me. I've been really busy between work and going here and there, never have time for the computer. I have not been on plan, I just cant stick to anything, I eat too much, munch too much and it sucks. DH and I want to start jogging so maybe we'll loose some, but I havent been feeling all that so we'll see if we can start tomorrow. If the people at biggest looser can do it, then we sure can.
Torri, how is it going? Are the kids with you or hubby? I hope things work out for the best, whichever way it turns. Congrats on the loss, at least something positive is coming out of this.
Jazlyn, sorry about the stress. I've been stressed too lately, not really a reason but life I guess
Melinda, hope dh finds a job soon. Are you both unemployed? Where are you going to move to?
The economy is horrible these days. Like Diane said, I'm very thankful for my job, even if its supper stressfull and frustrating. I better not complain about it.
June, glad to see you are still sticking to it.

I'm off to continue cleaning the house. We took the day off today. Since we go out every weekend I never have time (or dont feel like cleaning) and my house is a mess.
Take care everyone. Keep sticking to it. I may not be, but I'm still hopefull.

Yes we can, but let's remember they have trainers and losing weight on the show is their job..and spend hours at it.

Sounds like you are a busy woman Illy. How is the job going?

June - You are ROCKIN with the exercise!!! I didn't go at lunch, but Rex and I did just get back from a walk...I know I need to kick it up, I am trying

I actually ended Jan with a loss...so am glad for that!!
Now I gotta do the same for Feb.
Sure is nice to start recording losses instead of just gains

Thank you June

I forgot how stressful it is with my son here. His stuff is all over. I think he has more clothes than the rest of combined. He has gone out every night since he got here. He even went out on Saturday and they didn't get here until 1:30 am.

He tells us everything which is good and bad. Some of the details I could live without.

I am going to start making small goals for myself. I have practically been a hermit lately. I am on 6 different meds. When I tell my psychiatrist I'm not feeling great he adds another med. I am thinking of going to someone else. I am having blackouts where I don't remember whole conversations. I have also fallen twice.

I'm starting again today. Again. I'm sure my weight is one reason I'm so depressed.

Hope everyone is having a great low carb day.

Jaz, hang in there. Might want to set up some house rules. I had to do that , lets everyone know what is expected and what will not be tolerated. Try vitamin Bs Jaz. Get as much sun as you can. It always has helped me when I am down.

Jaz, I would at least see a different doc for a second opinion on your meds and history; especially with those two side effects!!!

Morning friends, happy Saturday.

Diane, congrats on the loss. I;m proud of you.

Jaz I agree, sometimes its better to change doctors and get a new perspective.

Well dh and I have walked/jogged for 2 days now. We took yesterday off of exercise cause we were so tired but we did both days for one hours walk 5 min/jog 1/walk 5 and so on. Food has not been great but we are making progress

LOL, Diane! IN one word. NO!! I have really received some very good input and alot of food for thought. Thing is, I don't see my activites as exercising now. Its just a fun way of moving. As my pool buddy says its like having our own country club to ourselves. Altho, we seem to have spiked interested to some of the other gym goers because we have notice others beginning to join in the fun!! Most pple come to work out, we work out while we r socializing. Just happen to be moving the whole time. There is a walking track blt around the pool above us, I think we keep the walkers entertained too I know they keep us entertained. I tip my hat to all that are dedicated to exercising every day. I do believe its a habit, a good habit. Once you begin you want to continue but once you falter its hard to begin again. I don't want to falter, even when my pool buddy can't make it I make myself go. Hope you have a great day and keep it low carb. You hve come so far.

June, good for you. I have convinced myself that exercize is so horrible I can't start.

I'm feeling so desperate, I even joined a zero carb board. I am gagging at some of the things I read. I'm not putting them down, it's just not something I could do. I'll post more later.

Jaz - I have been reading the 0 carb thread here, checked out the other board but really haven't read much. It seems to work for a lot of folks...and it did peek my interest but not ready to commit to that yet.

I had a nice loss last week and I think it was because I had my fats in..from burgers for breakfast and cheese. I have hoping to keep the same balance this week

June - you are doing great..do you notice any change in your clothes fitting looser?

June, I know what you mean about the pool/exercising. We've gotten a pool membership at the local Holiday Inn several times. Once I get there, I'm great. And it forms a habit. Then we expire our membership, have to pay registration fee again, etc. I really don't like it in the winter though because no matter how warm a shower I take and no matter how dry I get; I FREEZE when I leave. Thinking I should put a cow tank in my living room. Love walking and jogging in the water too, because there is no pain!!!

Jaz, the worst part of exercise is starting. I began by doing a few things while I was sitting watching TV. Few leg and arm exercises before getting out of bed then before going to sleep. It was helping , I could tell a difference. Now I am going to the gym and still doing the other. Is the zero carb thread in this forum. I would like to read and see what its about. Really don't think it would be for me because I think I am as low as I wanna go on carb intake. I just can't give up my coffee/cream. Try and exercise a bit today. Its not going to kill ya you will feel better for it.....

Diane, woohoo on the weight loss

The scales showed a small loss this morning but tomorrow is my offical weigh day, if its the same I will post it. I am beginning to feel a small change in my clothes. I tried on a smaller pair of jeans, ones I was wearing during the fall and they fit fine. Not overly tight, just comfortable. Kick in the hinney is, ones I have been wearing were 24s, I thought they were still 22s. I forgot I got my 24s out of their hiding place right after Thanksgiving. Now they (24s) are going to goodwill. Never ever go to a higher size

The weight I lost at first of year was the weight I gained during the holidays. I am still 10 lbs above my weight the first of Nov'08. I was so bad during the holidays, my brain went south and I guess you could say I did a complete binge for 2 months. It cost me dearly and I hope I can keep my mind set where it is now.

I lost 19 lbs within couple weeks then gained 6 of those bk when I started working with the weights. Really wrecked my mind set. Thanks to the ladies and gent in the other thread I think I know where I am and where I am headed.

I am so glad you have lost Diane, you know from the beginning you have always been an inspiration to me. I think both of us know exactly how to get to where we need to be. We just have to stay with this way of living.

Exactly Sharon, there is no pain and movement in the pool and it makes ya feel great!! I know how you feel about freezing. I just grin and bare it. The gym I go to is not warm. The pool water is not exactly warm either. Its more tepid water?? I no longer go to the locker rm because its cold with dry clothes on!! I dry off at pool , put my clothes on over my suit, throw on coat and out the door I go. I do try to park in the sun. That way the truck is not as cold When I get home I run in the house and hit the hot shower. Then my hinney goes in front of the fireplace till its red hot. I hope you can return to the pool soon. I know how it makes ya feel.

Thanks June

The Zero Carb thread is in the Other Plans section....pretty much nothing but meat meat and meat, if I understand it right. Seems usually fattier meats, so the fat helps you feel full and then don't really feel liking eating more.

Honestly, I was tempted...since I personally can live without veggies...I think..I have never craved veggies..I eat them because I am told we are supposed to, and I do enjoy my spinach salads. But imagine life without cheese or chocolate

I just have to stick with what I know...because this is where I get in trouble...I start reading threads and info on the lastest craze and I fall for it..not that it doesn't work for some, but it usually does't work for me. So I gotta keep my head focused on ME....

Here is a recipe I tried recently and really liked it.
I am not much of a salsa girl, but this was really good

Seriously Simple Chicken Chili

--------------------------------------------------------------

This recipe is from Dana Carpenders crockpot cookbook.

2 lb boneless/skinless chicken breasts
16 oz prepared salsa
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp chicken bouillon concentrate
3 oz shredded Monterey Jack cheese
6 tbsp sour cream

Put chicken in slow cooker

In bow stir together salsa, chili powder and bouillon, making sure the bouillon is dissolved. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
Cover slow cooker, set to low, cook 7-8 hours

When the time is up, shred the chicken with a fork
Service topped with cheees and sour cream

Recipe sounds good Diane. I checked out the zero carb. I read where some do ok with cream and cheese. Course you can't hve the chocolate I am pretty low carb already, only eat veggies every few days. Most days my carbs come frm cream and coffee or nuts but I am out of nuts and will not buy more. Now to get the peanut butter out of sight.......lol.

When I think of my menus last week they were very lc as well...and will be this week. Last week I did have the cauliflower, but this week I don't have veggies in my menu...which is okay......

Funny how that dang pb keeps sneaking in the grocery cart.....

On Zero Carb there was a nice summary of the plan written and I printed for reference..I guess you can have eggs, cream, butter but no other dairy. I think for now I am sticking with what seems to work for me..and I think it is keeping fat in my diet...so I have some bacon-cheeseburgers cooked up this week..

Morning, was down a few lbs this morning so I am pleased. Hoping they do not return by Tuesday.....just never know with my body.

Diane, I didn't see the summary on the zero carb. I was just reading what pple were saying. I am probably going to keep doing what I am doing. Dropping the nuts and limiting my coffee intake, not suppose to be drinking it anyway. That will take the cream away also.

Valentines is approaching. GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRR No candy please!!!

Carol -- you know the funny thing is sf chocolates never seemed to bother me much in the past, but a few weeks ago I had a few and I was sick...so maybe the sugar alcohols effect me now..so no longer will I do sugar alcohols. For my chocolate I have a square or two of 85% Lindt chocolate..there is sugar in it, but a serving is 4 squares so when you break it down with the dark chocolate and fiber it isn't a bad choice and usually a square or two satisfies me.

Welcome back....loving the avitar and I saw your pictures in the other thread...

I am hoping our "winter" is over...we should be in the 70s this week

I hope you like the recipe. I actually liked it better the next day and topped it with a bit of the sour cream. I may have this again next week.

Nice to see you

Pool, 2 hrs. Staying low on carbs. Picked up a lb over nite, I know its water so I am not stressing. Had a whey protein shake this morning using coffee as the base, really wasn't bad. Drank it before going to gym, my stomach was howling by the time I was leaving pool. Its ok but really not a replacement meal for this gal.

Hope everyone is having a good day. There r thunderstorms expected tonite.

June - do you still have those egg creams? Didn't you drink those at one time? I have been having one for dinner with protein mix...I actually like them, once I got past drinking a raw egg!!!

We are supposed to have t-storms and possible tornados tonight as well

My lastest snack item that I am loving is those baby Baybel cheeses...I got some from Costco..I realize it sounds wierd but I like unwrapping them...like a little present inside. And..70 cal per baybel (less than string cheese) and I can easly keep track of how many I eat...which believe it or not, IS within reason
