2. Print out the "I'm dreaming of a CASH Christmas" and CASH STASH labels. Feel free to decorate your CASH STASH holder anyway you like. There are a few smaller labels that you can use to wrap around your credit cards... more on this later.

3. Go into your purse, or the change pot in your car, or the bottom of the dryer, or between the sofa cushions, and hunt down some spare change. Toss it into your CASH STASH. Congratulations, your dream of a CASH Christmas has begun!

Emma M. Nutt Day

When : September 1st

Emma M. Nutt Day celebrates the first woman telephone operator in America.

Emma Nutt became the first woman telephone operator on September 1, 1878. She loved the job, and worked at it for 33 years.

This special day celebrates the world of telephone operators. It was a very important job for many decades. Today, the position has been eliminated being replaced by automation in telephone systems.

A little side note about Emma: According to Emma, she was "very thankful that my first name was not Imma".

Labor Day? I'm here...at nearly 6am in predawn SoCal... Got my hot slosh and have collected distressing data from my cynical scale that shows me UP 6# - from Aug.1's 391.0 to Sept.1's 397.0.

Hey, it's just data... but my data is headed the wrong way! It's time to adjust my eating, to modify my plan, to re-think my carbs, to head off a trend that is UNacceptable.

I'm doing meat/fish and eggs for a while, to encourage my body to burn off some ounces daily. Time for my trend to show a downward glide! Past time. So... today is a new start for me, a new chance to make better LC decisions and to put denial behind me. Behind me, where my caboose is, where my bad decisions hang on, wagging as I waddle, to remind me how bad decisions hang on...and on...and on. All aboard, for a Labor Day of great LC decisions!

Time to burn some calories! Let's get cookin', cookie puss! Taz is doing a Labor Day 15:15 that will help me empty yet another storage box of stuff that is going NOWHERE but the dumpster - a sewing project that was doomed from the get-go, as the fabric is not sturdy enough to hold a seam where I sit down and where I stress a dress when I am scrunching around on a car seat. Got home from work one day to find my entire back seam was laid open, and glad that my black slip had shielded me from total exposure! It's on its way to the dumpster, as soon as I can reach that box, high up on top of my file cabinet. Woo-HOO...another bag gone, and a storage box I can use for some heirloom mementoes for gifting to nieces and nephews in time.

I had a chance to work a switchboard with plug-in cords and all, mid1960s, at a college dorm that had a small - and truly vintage - switchboard. It was fun. Think Lily Tomlin's portrayal of Ernestine (one ringy dingy) and you have one of my best memories of living in a time warp that FSU at Tallahassee was back then.

Can't figure why my 4am search for a thread with "300+ Support" did not produce results. Glad to see you got us started. Back to the Book is a good way for us to go into Sept, as most folks get busy working their plan as the holidays loom with traditional feast foods and then the new year offers a chance for a new start. I want to refine my own LC plan, kick to the curb what does not work for me, do more of what DOES work for me. Let's get it ON!

Zer,
My first job was with Southern Bell as a telephone operator on a plug in switch board. I was 16 at the time and got the job through the DECCA program at my high school.
My plan when I stick to it is Atkins induction.
I will be back to it tomorrow!
Deb,
We don't do much gift giving in our family anymore cause it's just to expensive. The little kids get alot of gifts and my 2 grown kids and their significant others get a few small gifts. We don't exchange with siblings or parents..we just get together and eat and watch the kids enjoy the day.
HAGD!
Jean

Flylady!! Zone 1 - The Front Porch/Entrance/Dining Room
Here we go!

Zone 1: Mission #1 Monday

Dear Friends:

We are in Zone 1 this week, that is the Front Porch, the Entrance
area and the Dining Room.

Today you are to sweep your front porch area around your front door.
Shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. This
makes a huge difference in how your home looks. We have a tendency
to neglect this area and yet it is the first thing that people see
when they come to your home.

hey! I found ya'll. I was just about to post on the old thread. Im having a cheat day..I know I don't need one but it is what it is. Im enjoying the day with my hubby and my girls and gonna eat what they do. Its partly because of a low budget week..but tommorrow I will be back on plan even if it has to be mostly eggs this week, maybe that will help me recover from ramen noodles n such today. I cant be munching meat when they are eating noodles..so have to do what I can on weeks such as this when were robbing peter to pay paul. This has to be a lifetime change to work and there will be scrimping by times as this that I have to deal with. I hope everyone has a great labor day, be safe whatever you do.

HELLO everyone and HAPPY Labor day!

Well I was in a horrible way for a few weeks. It started out w/ being in pain, I thought gallbladder , Doc thought pulled muscle....turns out he might be right. Though TOM has been a little strange the last two months and I hoping the pain in my side wasn't something to do w/ that.

I have an appt the 22nd for my LOVELY lady exam!

The week this all happened I downed a bunch of apple juice to dissole stones, lol!

Then just went completely OFF Plan

This is day 2 of ON Plan.

I have to say AGAIN, I got that soreness in bed feeling again. I Hurt all over but my lower back was worse. Last time I went off plan I realized this. I always thought it was my weight or my very old nasty matteress....It isn't it must be SUGAR?????

I had tough time during all this because DD and mom were NO support, no help....even knowing I needed some things and NOT getting them making me DRIVE out and get them myself when I could hardly even stand to walk! Heck just when you think you can't hurt any more.....life surprises you

I ordered HCG and will starting simeons protocol soon! I need a boost, I need this weight off Yesterday! This promises FAT loss where the fat is and not just random places. I have been reading about it for a month. All my supplies will be in this week BUT I will be waiting until TOM is over.

Of course that is been every 3 weeks for the past 2 TOM's so I will be starting in 2-4 weeks depending on that!

Sadly I am actually looking forward to giving myself shots every day. Kinda like when I was IN Pain w/ the pulled muscle....it took my mind off the emotional pain for while.....Kinda like cutting w/o the nasty little scars! SAD Isn't!

HEY Alaksan...YOU are VERY bad luck...first your friend and now me! We had TWO bear sightings in a week. ONe was DOWNTOWN a 30lb bear climbed a tree....it was in an apartment complex, there is an elementry school and a shopping mall there! .

Sadly a few days later a 200lb bear attacked an EMu at a farm NOT Even 3 miles from here! THANKFULLY the poor little thing survived. I can't imagine seeing something attacking my babies. Makes me worried for my goats!

Zer: Sorry to see the scale is up! Glad to read that you got a cook and helper.....BEST OF LUCK to you!

Deb: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! LOVE the long hair! What an adorable couple. Sounds like and hubby have it going on after all these years!

I am so sad to see that Vicki is still not posting. Has anyone heard from her?

Off to check out the 15:15 ....everything I had gotten done is GONE, buried under even more junk
