ive lost weight twice on LC and by watching calories and portions....i weighed 247 after the birth of our youngest and i used those two strategies to get down to where i am now at 202....i lost weight last summer with that and then went off plan while undergoing hip adjustments this winter, gained a FEW pounds back but not alot...then went back on plan this spring and lost some more...good luck

The answer is YES, you really can lose the 2nd time around (or 3rd or 4th, etc). Re-read the book, and follow it step by step. Don't try to do it by memory, I think that's where most people get messed up and think that it's not working--but actually they are not following their plan of choice as written.

Give it 2 weeks--what do you have to lose?!

I agree! I have gone on and off Adkins more times then I can remember and I still lose weight at a good pace. Good luck!

I restarted last week after a 4 year carb binge (no other way to put it - tried WW and Biggest Loser and out of control for a long time) and today was my first week weigh in...down 14.4!!! So yes - you can go back!

Back in 2002 I lost 70 lbs only to regain them all back plus some. Then I had my twins and was at my highest weight of 270 lbs and miserable. I restarted back in March and so far I lost 24 lbs. The scale is moving, slowly, but it's moving in the right direction.
You can definitively lose again, no matter which "try" you're on.

It's great that you're going to be exercising with your DH . It always good to have that support!!

Yes, you can. This is my second chance at it too, and I have found it easier than the first. I think knowing my limitations better, has helped in overcoming obstacles. I plan ahead more this go round and am determined to reach goal. My first time doing low carb, I lost from 320 to 260, -- then gradually almost gained it all back. Since January 2008, doing Atkins a second (and final) time, I have lost 105 lbs and not giving up yet.

Reread your book, come to this support system often, and plan ahead. Best wishes to you and your DH. This go around for me also included a diagnosis of diabetes and high bp -- what a wake up call! I am a stubborn, hard headed sort of person and eating low carb is now becoming a wol for me instead of a quick fix. Find your motivation and hang on tight for the ride.

Welcome back!
