id like to try a challenge...i dont usually do these things...how do i do it? and i dont understand the weight posting thing LOL
my highest recent weight was 247 in april 2006....highest weight EVER was 270 in november 1997 i started LC/calorie counting in april 2008 and lost 15 pounds as of july 2008 for a weight of 202 right now...my goal for labor day is to finally FINALLY make it to 198, the lowest weight i've ever seen on myself as an adult and ive tried soooo hard to get there and just havent made it yet does any of this qualify for the challenge? |

Hey alaskan laughter....sorry I didn't answer you in the other thread, I must have overlooked your post.
Basically all we do in those challenges is list our starting weight for the challenge, our overall starting weight, and our goal weight for the challenge. and then every week by monday, we list what we weigh that week. And then I will post a chart showing our losses and progress towards our goals. |

Hi Hotties,
How's it going for everyone? I hope we can get this thread really active like it used to be. It's going fine for me. This week I am taking the train and walking because my car broke down. It really sucks (but the extra exercise is GREAT). But hopefully I will have my car back by Thursday morning. I really need to buy a new car but I am flat busted for now...still working on hopefully getting a teaching job before the school year starts so wish me luck. |

Hi-
Lola sorry to hear about your car-WTG on the exercise! Here are my stats: Challenge starting weight: 290 Challenge goal: 269 Overall starting weight: 351 Two important milestones I'm trying to reach this challenge are that when I get below 276.2 I will have lost 100 pounds from my highest weight (back in March 2007) and 269 will be the lowest I have weighed in over 10 years (and I used to get stuck at 270 so that would be a breakthrough from a past stall/plateau weight). I have an overall goal to lose 60 pounds by Dec 22nd (that would put me at 230). I did get some good news the other day. Got some lab work back and my liver enzymes are back in the normal range-perhaps this may indicate that I no longer have a fatty liver? Here's wishing everyone much success this challenge!! ive been doing surprisingly well on making good calorie choices the last two days...its been SO hard lately, lots of stress in my life etc...but i did good two days in a row

i dont know whats on the menu today...im really very bad at planning ahead LOL even in terms of social events...im working more on conscious eating lately and have been pretty successful the last few days
only eating when im hungry...even if that means hubby and i get lunch together and i dont actually get anything because im not hungry...its weird but im finding ways to make it work...toddler is "paying bills" in his high chair with an envelope and my old carbon copy checks LOL cuz that's what he saw mom doing this morning...its very cute LOL |

Alaskan- it's a good thing to only eat when you are hungry. I took me a while to realize that I was eating when I wasn't hungry and then eating way past when I was full. I tend to know what is on my menu because I am the one who has to cook everything for everyone around here

I'm here and I'll weigh in tomorrow morning. Hope everyone is having a good day! I hope the scale is kind to me in the morning. I thought I had eaten ok yesterday but apparently my body doesn't agree... *L* maybe I'll see some better numbers in the morning. I am trying to get back into the 280's and keep the scale moving down instead of bouncing back up into the 290's and then staying there day after day.

Laura I'm sure you will see the 280's very soon. Tomorrow is my weigh in day as well. Today I added strawberries for the first time. Dr. A says that 1/2 a cup is 5 carbs. I'm hoping they wont slow down my weight loss too much.
My menu for today is B- 2 slices of bacon, 1 egg and 1/2 cup strawberries L- chicken with ranch and greenbeans D- taco meat and salad S- cheese stick |

I am very upset with myself and the weight I've gained...but I am here to admit my mistakes and to try, try again and this time I WILL SUCCEED! I feel like TOTAL crap right now - induction flu, I guess... So far today I've had:
B: 2 or 3 eggs (I made a bunch for three of us...), scrambled with a few TBS cream, 5 slices turkey bacon, water S: 2 hard-boiled eggs L: large hamburger patty with a little mayo, mustard, and steak sauce, WATER S: 2 cups coffee with splenda and cream (as little of both as I can handle!), water and excedrin D: hamburger patty with salad (lettuce, cucumber, and green pepper) w/ ranch dressing, WATER WATER, WATER, WATER As far as the challenge: Overall starting was 375, current starting is 330, goal for Labor Day is 289 (Hey, a girl can dream...plus, I plan to REALLY do this!!!!!!!!!)

I know sometimes the food choices can be boring but if I remember to shake it up I can generally rotate it around.
