Yep...cause for some reason I can't EVER throw-up. But I'll take 1 or 2 bites of something and then I feel stuffed. I'm pushing as hard as I can to get 32oz. of fluids in each day this week.

I was getting 70 oz. of fluids in and I was able to eat 2 or 3 tbs. of food at a time last week. Who knows. My nutritionist is the one that said it sounded like a stricture. I dunno. I still haven't heard back from my doc's office.

Ask about your stoma too mysti. The surgeon forms this from stomach tissue and sometimes he makes it too small.

Whew! Doc's office called and said that as long as I am still able to pass fluids that I can wait until my surgeon gets back to come in.

I ate my lunch very slow today and took little tiny sips of water after each bite and it all went down with no trouble. And, I've drank 32 oz. of water so far today...so that's good. I go in to see my doc a week from Tuesday. They said if I start puking to go to the ER. But, I think I'm going to be okay.

Thanks for all your well-wishes and prayers!

I am feeling better. I was about to eat 1.5 oz. of chicken & broccoli quiche. Oh, it was so good!

I've gotten down 52 oz. of fluids today too. I'm still shooting for 70...we'll see if I make it.

OMGosh, I'm the queen of rabbit holes on the internet! I just finished eating another small piece of that broccoli quiche this morning and I'm not having any problems. It is SO hard to eat slow! But I'm convinced that's been my problem.

I hope everyone is doing good today.

I had a much better day today. I've gotten in about 50oz. of liquids...still have 20 more to go. I had breakfast, 1/2 string cheese for lunch, this protein chocolate cookie thing for a snack and then I going to eat some Wendy's chili for dinner. No problems with anything going down.

And, I only have 3 songs left on Guitar Hero III to beat it on expert! Okay, not life-changing, but it makes me happy none-the-less.

How's everyone elses day been?

Mysti so glad you are feeling better, you gave us quite a scare yesterday talking about a stomach stricture....

I was down another 1lb this morning... i'll take it....

just finish fixing dinner for my dh and son... fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and biscuits..... now I need to get back in there and cook my fish, not sure what else I am going to eat....

I called my nutritionist yesterday to see if it was ok for me to eat 1 tbsp on peanut butter on pre-op diet.... it seems like she said it would be ok.. but I can't remember....

the other night i made a chocolate protein drink in the blender and added in 1/2 cup skim milk and one tbsp of crunchy peanut butter and chopped and blended well, it was so good, reminded me of a butterfinger... I was sure wanting one tonight....

Mysti thanks... I sure hope he will be proud of me... it does not seem right to be on a 1,000 calorie a day diet and hardly lose anything... I lost more when I was doing just regular atkins...lol

but I know that this diet is not for the weight loss but to get my liver into shape for surgery.......

i am hungry haven't eaten today, yet and its 12:52, we have been out going to yard sales all morning.... got to go and eat.. bye

OMGosh, thank you Dave for Wendy's Chili. I had that again for lunch today and all I can say is YUMMM! A small gives me 3 meals. Not bad for $1.20.

I'm wiped out. I went to Wal-Mart this morning...then I weeded my flower beds for about an hour....then I went through our storage closet and found some size 24 pants that I can wear! Actually, I found about 10 pair.

I'm an XL on top and a XXL on bottom. I have the oh-so-lovely "pear shape".

Hey Folks:

I'm a 3 year RNY post-op and I've been lurking along with you all to see how you're doing -- great job, all!

Just want to mention that the BeneProtein powder mentioned in some of the earlier posts is generally considered a less effective choice than some other flavorless protein powders because 1 scoop only contains 6 grams of protein. Compare this to AnyWhey (my personal favorite) from Optimum Nutrition, for instance, (available online here at Netrition or from GNC stores nationwide) which has 17 grams of protein per scoop. Scoop sizes are different, but I think you'd have to use almost 4 times the amount of BeneProtein to equal 1 scoop of the other, making the BeneProtein much more expensive as well. So when you're looking at flavorless powders, be sure to compare serving amounts and protein grams.

Flavorless protein can be added to your drinks, scrambled eggs, ricotta or cottage cheese, homemade puddings/popsicles, soups, faux cheesecakes, baked goods, mock danish, etc.

Push that protein, girls!

Can I say one thing about this as an experienced WLS patient 8 yrs out? None of this happens by weight loss alone-weight loss is the beginning of the journey and some of us need extra help such as counseling to get us to this point. You will still be the same you, skinny or fat, with the same basic insecurities and problems. WLS is one of the tools we utilize in our journey to this healthy state.
