Good Morning girlies~
I'm down 6.5 lbs as of this morning.....Gotta love induction!! I feel like this surgery is either going to make or break me. In a years time I have stopped smoking, given up my beloved Diet Coke, given up real Folgers for Decaf, and now I'm low carbing again. Isn't it funny how those things just don't seem as important as a healthy future? ![]() |

Hi ladies!
Everyone seems to be doing so well--I'm so proud of you guys! I'm at 213.2 today, inching closer and closer to the 50 pound mark (209). It's funny, though--I don't feel nearly as small as I did last time I was this weight. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely thrilled to be wearing some 16W bottoms and a few 14/16 tops from LB, but I still feel so jiggly and bloated. I know there's a big difference in my body, but I can only actually see it in things like my emerging collarbones; otherwise I don't see any change when I look in the mirror. I think part of the difference this time is exercise, which continues to be a huge problem for me. Any other time I've lost a lot of weight, I've worked my butt off (literally) at the gym while also eating on plan. I've yet to get into a regular workout routine, even though I KNOW that when I work out regularly my self-confidence and body image shoot up. I would almost certainly be losing faster if I were working out regularly and doing some light weight training. But I'm not, so in my mind's eye I'm still 259 pounds. Argh.

BTW, thanks for asking!
![]() My pouch feels kind of weird...what's new, huh? I'm never hungry in the morning, but I have to eat or drink something to help my pouch feel better. It's hard to explain. I pretty much always have a protein drink since food isn't appealing at all. Other than that, I'm feeling pretty good. Hubby left around midnite last night to go get my 2 kids so I woke up a few times. I have got so much to do today! My house is a wreck. LOL Is there anything at Starbucks that I can have??? If so, I'm going over there this morning. Unfortunately, there's one about a mile from my house. I don't go there often...I'm too cheap, but today...I'll pay for a little pick-me-up. ![]() I'm down another 2 lbs. today. Oh, I can't wait to see the 230s! It's hard to imagine that just 3 1/2 weeks ago I was 270 lbs. ![]()

I think we can all understand that here. I gave up diet dr. pepper (which was HUGE for me), daily coffee, sugar, high carb food, etc. before surgery. Which proves again that it's all mental. When that switch gets flipped, then we can actually do things. But I had such a defeatest attitude for so long. I was stuck in an unhealthy lifestyle. Thank the Lord I'm doing so much better now. Now I feel like I'll actually live a long, long life. ![]() |

Mysti I dont' go to Starbucks that often, once in a blue moon...lol
but, the last support group meeting our support leader was telling us to watch out for hidden sugars... she said she got a sf flavor coffee of some kind and when she first drank it she felt something was not right... she asked them what was in it and the first ingredient was corn syrup.... so make sure you ask them before you buy I am so glad you are feeling better.... its funny I can tell it in your writing... weard huh? Are you weighing at home or only at doctors office? 35 lbs is awesome.... thats less then a month right?

I have been trying to exercise for the last few months, too. I think that's what has helped me to lose almost 20 lbs before surgery. I walk almost everyday and do an aerobic tape on rainy days. My step-daughter and I are working on a couch to 5k program right now for running. We plan to do a race in October.

Mysti~ You are so right about the healthy lifestyle. My health has become one of my top priorities now. I thank the Lord daily for the second chance, and I don't intend to blow it this time!
Lisa~ Thanks! Amber~ YOU ROCK! I took a look at your youtube video too, and all I can say is WOW. I pray that I can do as well as you have. Kyla~ I used to drink 2 pots of strong black coffee in the morning and then start on the diet coke..... crazy huh??? I prayed so hard that I wouldn't have the headaches, and only had it one day. Now coming off carbs and sugar has been different. 3 days of headaches and TOM hit this week as well!!! EYES ON THE PRIZE GIRLS!!!!

Kyla, I remember how hard it was for you to give up caffeine--I think you even said once that you could never do it. And now look how far you've come! You're totally going to rock this band when you get it.
Thanks for the kind words, Mycattaz. |

Jenny- Thanks so much! I hope that I do as well as you have! You're going to be in onederland before you know it! |

Okay, here's my food log from yesterday. My protein was only at around 50 grams. How can I get more in? I'm not going to eat crackers anymore with my tuna. It just made me feel yucky anyway. So, I can add more protein in there. But I don't know what else to do. Any suggestion? |

I can't get your fit day to come up....
the other day in nutrition class, she said to buy the beneprotein, its tasteless, so you can add it to anything to increase your protein... maybe if i could see what you are eating it might help....lol how are you today? |

mysti, from the looks of your eating, the protein powder might be a good thing for you to try.... I hear Walgreens carries it, but I have not found it yet, but I've only been to one walgreens....
also the nutritionist said that you can add more protein mix to a drink... like if it calls for 1 scoop for 8 oz of skim milk... add 2 scoops..... she said all it would do would add extra protein to it... also adding the sf carnation instant breakfast to the protein shake, not only adds more protein to the drink, but it also adds more flavor,, another one that sounded good to me was adding tang to vanilla protein drink...makes like a dreamcicle I am doing good... I was down another .4 this morning... he wanted me to lose 30 before the surgery.... I have only lost 10... dh made one of his remarks this morning about me eating the same old stuff everyday...... don't know why he even cares... as long as I am happy with it, what does it matter...right he said yesterday something about making something for supper, and he said only if you can eat it with me... I told him I couldn't have it, and he said he just want make it.... i sat there for a moment and told him he needed to get over it, I was on this post surgery diet and then after thats its going to be a while before I can eat some of the foods he likes to it.....that it was not sense in him not eating it because I could not.... |

Lisa, that's hard about your dh. Sometimes I think the people around us don't know how to react to our "diet". This morning my 8 year old son said, "Oh, you're still on that diet". LOL I was making a protein shake. It's hard for people to realize that things are going to be different now. And it's okay.
Just do what you know you need to do. And thanks for the protein tips. ![]() |

![]() I just ate 2 deviled eggs so I wouldn't be hungry. Ate them a little too fast, but I feel better now. Geez, I wish we could just meet at that park. ![]() |

do any of you eat with your meals... I was told 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after... but never with... unless you just need a sip of something....
its hard not to give up drinking and eating at the same time... I know I must make this adjustment....how did everyone here give up eating and drinking at the same time? |
