That is so true but I think the good thing is that you KNOW that and expressed it. Let's face it those kind of things , at least for me , have become mental games .... like " it doesnt matter what the scale says, you pants are tight you obviousily didn't lose anything" and then the voice that starts "see you can't do anything, your gonna be fat forever" which leads to a big pity party and even bigger binge!

At least you are realizing some things just show your success slower! Good for YOU!

Thanks for the sympathy over losing Elvis. He lived a long life and had good care. He passed on in December 2007. He is buried in my back yard so I speak to him frequently. I hope he can hear that he is still remembered with love. I truly believe he does!

You know I really think that you should ! I don't know about the rest of you ladies on here..maybe mine is combo of being a sea cow and a single mom ( doing all the things men usually do) but I don't even feel like a woman any more and I hate that. It is hard to feel feminine when you are huge! I really think I need to find little ways to do things that make me feel that way and I think by doing that it will help me keep on plan too!

I am fighting cravings for salt and chocolate and carbs today. Been stressing as I job hunt and try not to melt in the heat.

Hey wait a min. I thought after a while on this lifestyle you didn't crave those things???
Hope everyone is doing well. **hugs**

This brings up another newbie question.... do you all have horrible skin on your feet! At first I thought it was the diabetes but then I realized it might just be my poor feet carrying around all this weight!

OH and so you all know that pedegg thing from TV is AWESOME if you need to get that skin off ( My feet start to hurt if I dont') and dont' want to take time to soak!

I LOVE doing this but the reason I don't have footsie spa days is because it is so darn hard to get to my feet w/ my belly in the way and that just reminds how huge I really am...not to mention it feeling like aerobic workout!

I am new and well I wouldn't want to offend anyone if I was a regular. I know that having come this far w/ your WLS plans you put a lot into but PLEASE think about it and don't be afraid to cancel if it if you change your mind. I won't do because of all the possible after surgery complications. I can't remember the % but the it is a high number of people that can have them ...even for like up to 3 years or something. the other day I read that most people w/ WLS will never really be a small person....still probably overweight, just not obese and if you look at some of the celebs that have had it, it makes sense : Randy Jackson comes to mind. I wish you all the luck in the world, just remember if it doesn't feel right, don't be afraid to cancel it!

Lyonnesse hey lucky, I have done sf jello and cr cheese several ways over the years, sometimes I make it from scratch and mix the cream cheese into the melting jello and refrigerate...but for now - the ex bought me some prefixed jello and I just scrape that into a bowl and cut off a certain amount of cr. cheese and put both on the spoon for each bite..then let both melt in my mouth..to me its like ice cream..rich and smooth.. I have also been known to mix Cr Cheese with orange SF soda or jello and then put it in the fridge to harden..its like orange popsicles.

<waving to 4gotn1..dont want you to feel forgotten>

Awww thanks, Vicki! And that cream cheese thing sound delish!

Forgotten1,
I ate the sausage patties as the only option for me at the time. I don't like McD's eggs. I eat their sausage on occasion and it doesn't seem to bother me. I really like sausage and mostly buy Aldi's brand. That was my lunch today..3 homecooked sausage patties.
My flowers in pots all do very well but it takes alot to keep them watered in 100 degree heat. The flowers on my avatar are from last year..I need to take a pic of this years. They are pretty 2.
Zer...I didn't get to my toes today, I took a nap instead. My daughter asked if I enjoyed my day off...I told her I was lonely. She wanted to know what I would be doing without Gavin...I would have a job and make some $$$$!
It is no fun to be so broke in todays economy. I truly have to think about every mile I drive now. Sure hope I live to see things get better.
HAGN!

Hey forgotten,

Welcome to the thread. I also am a big pet lover but live in an apartment now and can't have any pets. My daughter has wanted a dog for so long. Also, I am allergic to cats so that to doesnt help either.

I think you might not have access to that thread because it's on the Playground and you have to be a member of this board for so many days before you get access there.

Yeah, things are pretty scary these days. I read that the big oil companies reported a35 billion dollar PROFIT in the first 3 months of this year. So it's not like they are losing money and have to raise gas prices. It makes no sense to me. I would hope the government would step in a put a cap on gas prices at around no more than $2 a gallon. Things are just ridiculous these days...and there doesnt seem to be any relief in sight.

Milo is OK! he was having seizures because he wasn't getting enough sugar.......i think the reason you can't see it is it's on thwe Playground and you have to have been here a while....a little background on Milo... he and his 2 siblings were found on an apt complex's doorstep covered in mud and not even with their eyes open yet..were taken to this wonderful lady who had a nursing Momma cat ,was accepted and feed by Momma Cat until the first lil' one died. then this sweet lady has been up every 2 hours bottle-feeding the other 2 one of those sweet angels died and Milo is only one left..poor little guy...she has been such a hero to these orphans but the vet said the seizures was from is it hypoglycemia??/(when you don't have enough blood sugar???) some Kyro syrrup in his bottle should fix him right up! thank heaven for the Angels out there who rescue these babies

oh he is orange and white (a creamcicle kitty)

THANKS for the WELCOME, Lola!~

That is the thing I hate about apartments! I hope she can get one soon. I think it makes growing up more fun! I can't imagine being allergic to my kitties. Me and dd live w/ my mom and she is getting allergies. I said "just ask em' how many times a week they want you in for shots" lol!

Deb I will pray for Milo...what a horrible start in his little life! Poor thing! YES rescuers are AMAZING people. It is what I tried to do but ended up keeping them all. Hey once yer' here and named you must remain!~ LOL!

I even have done rescue transports for rescues taking a dog accross several states. The "legs' of the transport are about an hour and I thought, I can hel and not get attached. NO such luck! I have three that STILL way on my minds as to what happened after they left rescue!

I can't wait to see what all fun things I can do when I am here long enough. What else am I missing???? hehehe!

Hi everyone!

I'm new around these parts and thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm an Ohio gal who has been low carbing it for 4 months now. I had found out I was very hypothyroid and slightly hyperglycemic and was told by my doc to watch carbs like a hawk. Doing that, along with starting thyroid meds have allowed me to lose 26% of my excess weight in just 4 months. Whee! Still have a long way to go, but I know now I CAN do this!

I look forward to getting to know you all in the coming weeks and months!

I am very comfortable with the doctors I am going too... I have been going to support since January now and have considered it for two years...

its coming down to health... doctor told me in November I will be in a wheel chair in a year... my legs are giving out.. he said I need knee replacements in both knees...

I did gastric stampling in 1982, had no support, did the surgery and went home...didn't know what to expect, even what to eat my first meal.....

Since then they have come along way... I am going to a hospital that is noted as a Clinic of Bariatic of Excellent...

I am seeing a couselor before and after surgery to talk about things

seeing a nurtritionist....

I know this is not the easy way out... it is major surgery, its going totally change my digestive tract... but, I also know, that I can't do this on my own... I have tried... its not working for me and I am running out of time....

Just pray for me....

I have everything prepared and ready to do this....

Jean, napping is as much ME TIME as anything I can think of. Nice to know that you can relax while someone has your young charge IN CHARGE for a change. My experience is that a small person can wear out a big person with the energy that burns as a kid wonder WHY THIS and WHY THAT and asks all sorts of questions. Kids are high-energy machines. Glad you got some time to yourself. Naps are when we can be like a cat! That's how it feels to me as I drop off for a quick nap, feeling deliciously drowsy and just slipping off. Got no kids to watch. Just me. Solitude. What a luxury napping feels like. Free, too!

I know that the cost of everything is prohibitive. So let's enjoy the free stuff!

Dear Zer,
Solitude is something I have always wished for and now find I hate. I feel so much better and so much more useful when I have folks around of all ages. When Gavin gets school age I am going to apply at a day care or rest home as an aide. Not much $$$ but it is so satisfying to me to help those who truly need help. I used to work at the blind school here as first a housekeeper then as a house parent. It was a residential school and I got way too attached to the students.
Helping with bodily functions doesn't faze me at all and I find that is the most embarassing part of age or disability.
I am much happier being busy than napping these days. I do find I sleep better after a busy day and feel satisfied too!
Good Night and Love to all,
