Hello gang. Having a rough time, my oldest just turned twelveteen.

Not sure he is going to make it to the real teen years. I thought girls were supposed to be the problem children at this age.

Morning to all.......
I am off today and going to brunch later with my son. He is working Sunday and won't get to spend time with his mommy for Mother's Day and wanted to take me to brunch

The little black and white kitty that I found didn't make it. It was nursing but just not strang enough to survivie. The other 2 are doing pretty well especially the little gray one.

I don't know if I have mentioned my girlfriend that has brain cancer. She had brain surgery a few years ago and then it came back. She had surgery again a few weeks ago and it has been downhill ever since. She developed an infection and went back in the hospital and then developed blood clots and on and on and on. They have now given her 2 days to 2 weeks to live. She is in a tremendous amount of pain but her brain is not registering it (which is a good thing). They are keeping her on morphine and comfortable. Sometimes she recognizes people, including her kids, and sometimes she doesn't. I just got off the phone with her daughter and I am going to go see her today. It will be hard if she doesn't recognize me but I just want to see her anyway.

Took off today to look at a metro lake I alawys pass by. It's a gorgeous day, sunny, 76, slight breeze. People are fishing around the lake, talked to a couple of them. Got directions to a nearby baitshop. The water is clear, crappies are supposed to be hitting in the morning and late evening according to one guy.

Go to the baitshop. Ask him about the fishing. He doesn't know a thing.

It's more of a run-down mini-mart in a bad part of town with half-empty shelves, but they do sell bait. I've never been in a baitshop before where they dont give you advice or know what's up and where. Strange. In my home town, they could tell you what rock to stand on and which way to cast...

I figure I'll get my minnow bucket and get some tonight as they don't open until 8am.

Then I get this feeling of guilt. I'm out of a job. I should be looking for a job instead of fishing. Fishing is a reward for a week's work. Desn't matter if there isn't any job openings out there, I'm not working. I'm a bum.

What a Catch-22. When I was working, I worked so much there wasn't much time to fish. Now that I've got all this time on my hands, I don't feel I've earned the right to enjoy it.

Can you say 'depression', boys and girls? Got any xanax?
