Well...got a pork shoulder on the grill now. I am using indirect heat for the most part and throwing on a lot of apple chips. I had injected some Mortons Quick Cure in it while it was still in the heavy plastic bag and let it sit in the fridge for a few days. Picked some fresh sage out of the garden to put on top but can't say that it has done anything for flavor. I've been doing some sampling, it has a slight ham taste to it from the Quick Cure and the smoke. Another hour and I'll bring it in.

Also trying the new Jose Quervo Dark Tequila. Got some Baja Bob's mix, added a little extra lime juice to it. Not bad. Both Pami and I thought the Jose had a whiskey smell to it as it is aged in oak casks. It's also a blend (don't know what blend, writing was too small).

Tried to get the windows done today. Dang rain....

FC is showing off. I don't even quick cure and smoke meats. I don't like to put that much time into meals. If it takes more than an hour and 6 ingredients I am inclined to order in. LOL

Today I have to make some hors d'euvres to take to a dinner party. It is not goignt o be a fun party. It is a last gathering of all the culinary school people for a friend who has terminal cancer. This will be hard for me.

Melly how has the weekend in gone. I am waiting on the cousins from hell to get here with their kids. I really had my uncle on my mom's sides kids. Well one is ok she is about 4 months older than me but the oldest who is year older than me is really mean to me. Ya'll would want to kick her butt. I told my Dad I come for a little while for my mom (she would like it be better) but if she started in on me I was leaving. He said just don't answer any questions. My brother doesn't like them either. I called to make sure he was coming. He promised not to leave me alone with them.

cheri - that was me about the scooter unless someone else has one now. my payments on the scooter are 92 a month, 100 every 6 months for insurance and 8 bucks to fill the tank. gets 85 miles to the gallon. 2 gallon tank. 12 miles to work and back. i'm still payin on the car but the gas to put in it is makin it two payments a month. it's almost 300 a month for the two cars. so now we have one car and a scooter.

Update on the dinner and the friend who has cancer and 11 children, several of whom are under 18. She had a few and adopted several. Turns out that she and the children will be moving to VA and she is on a lsit with Cancer Centers of America, Austin TX. She will be living with a relative and travelling to TX for treatment. Her prognosis is 3months, but the CCA thinks they can help her to live longer and control pain. Her relative wants to take all of the children into her home, so they will not be separated. God has Blessed Lisa in many ways.

I did alright at the dinner and did not cry until I got in the car to go home. It was good to see all the students and friends from culinary school and Lisa looked and felt pretty well. We laughed a Lot!

I have been busy with a house full of the children's friends, for 2 days. Helped one do a final project for school and just sent them all to the drive in movie. I am TIRED! hahaha. SO I am off to bed.

Sorry I'm soooooo slow sometimes, well I read and plan to answere and then get distracted with something at work.

I weighed myself the other morning and am down to 362, it's a start anyway.

PLEASE don't get a scooter. With the drivers and insurance laws you told me about may I suggest one of these instead?

There is alot to be said for getting behond on posting I cannot begin to catch up but I will say that I have read all of the posts and I am sending and to those that need them.

Katy I am sending prayers to your friend....it sounds like you had a wonderful time and you both probably needed it

Bobby it is so great to see you here. I love it when you are around and I miss you terribly when you disappear. Congrats on the loss I think we all always do better when we are here and posting. Even if we are struggling and not eating well.....this is where we need to be. We have friends here who know where we have been and what we have gone thru and love us unconditionally

I am off today, my 3rd day in a row!!! It has been pretty nice. Uusally I only get 1 day at a time and I spend it running around like a mad woman and go back to work not feeling like I have had a day off.

We had some friends over yesterday for a BBQ and we really had a nice time. Our daughters are friends and play volleyball together. I don't know if I have mentioned it but this is the family that Ailyah is going to Florida with in July. The 2 men are always quite entertaining when they get together.....they are a crack up!!

I have my appointment with the podiatrist today....FINALLY!!!! I just hope that he can figure out what it is and help me repair it. I really want to walk for exercise and it is killing me that I can't. Funny how that works out....when I had no foot issues I was a lazy heffa and didn't walk and not that I want to I can't

I am sorry you have the tear (I figured it was that) .. chances of it healing itself is very slim unfortunately since we use our knees every day... but you might be one of the lucky few... most likely they are going to do things to make you comfortable and to relieve the pain.. I am sure that the knee brace.. anti inflamatories and icing will help you and hopefully you will be able to keep from having surgery... at least for a good while. I did that for a few years but the last time I went in for my shots he asked why I haven't had surgery yet.. he said next time I have to go that direction... surgery is the only option to completely fix the problem for me.
