Is this when you start losing what someone calls "virgin fat"? Fat that has not been lost and gained repeatedly???

Hmmm, my virgin fat would be under 239...but before that 282 is the next "magic number" of VF.

Ladies - I won't be on later - have to get going now, too... Last night at 1AM DH was called to go to his mom's (an hour away) cause the paramedics had been called from her medic alert thingee. She is 83...and had a gallbladder attack. Surgery is scheduled for 4:30 today. Please pray for her, DH, me, and out three kids that everyone comes out no worse for the wear. I'll update you as I can - but I don't think my time will be my own for many hours. Take care and eat LC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My culotts (sp?) are falling off of me!!

When I came home tonight from my gs ballgame, as I got out of the car, I had to grab my britches! They just about fell off!!

I have been noticing they were getting very loose but when I stood up the waist was turned halfway around and was dropping over one hip!!

I told my 16 yr old DD that my britches were falling off and she said, " I know, I've been noticing your pants were getting really baggy"!

Bless her little heart!!

I will weigh in the am for my official 1 month of induction weight.
I am not sure where I started but I am on my weigh (pun intended) down!

Just want to pop in and say hello to some of my favorite ladies!

Zer, WTG on your steady losses! It DOES make a difference if you just stick it out. We don't want for it to take awhile but what's the alternative? Stay the same or gain? We've all spent a lot of years being overweight...what's a few more spent reversing the damage we've done thus far in our lives?

Virgin fat---untouched by what exactly? I'll have to think awhile on that one..

Tanicka--not much advice, but just want to say I know exactly how you are feeling and it's so hard, but until your mind is right it just doesn't fall into place. Maybe with the stress in your life you unconsciously sabotage your efforts. I know I've been there and done that. It's been easier for me this time because I don't have small children anymore and can focus on just doing it. I feel for you guys with little ones running around because I know exactly how hard it is to stay strong with chaos running rampant in your house!

Cris, I'll be praying for your mother in law and your husband.

Kim

Isn't it grand to see real data on how well we are doing on our LC program? Makes a scale so much more than a horrific device. Makes my scale a useful tool!

Um, Edna, are you going to need suspenders to keep you from stepping right out of your big britches? Or will you take them in a bit, move the button over, do what it takes to keep wearing your too-big britches for a while longer?

TGIF and a wickedly wonderful LC day to all of us!

What's your plan to make today a calorie-burning day? I know, I don't do any of the calorie-burning stuff that most of y'all do, working out, walking, taking care of kids and partners and households. But even I think about burning some calories as I feel my body heating up and get trembly when I push myself to go a few steps further, to do a bit more, to push the limits, to get some of the odd jobs done so that I don't have such a long TO DO list lurking in the back of my mind. Today - maybe - I see an opportunity to do a wash, fix some LC snax, prepare to have plenty of LC protein-fat food ready to eat this wknd. It's all a chance to burn calories, even if I sit as I chop onions and mix up my fridge food. That's my "fast food" when I am on track, all the stuff that is ready to eat without much more fuss than just opening a pot of eggy salad or fishy salad and spooning into me a mouthful of what my body wants for energy.

Burn, baby, burn! What I do today will probably not show up on my scale on my official weigh day, Saturday morn, but it WILL show up in a week or so! Got to have faith, even if the scale bounces up. Body is just trying to hold its own, trying to stabilize as I cut calories, burn calories, and offer few carbs to a body that probably still thinks carbs are a way of life. No more! No way!

Zer,
I am a single mom with a 16 yr old dd and I get NO support from her dad, so, in answer to your question...

I will be using suspenders or taking my britches in!!
I can not afford new clothes for me. Only when there is no hope for my clothes will I be forced to buy new ones!!

I am going to the beach in July with my daughters (i have 3) and my grandbabies (also have 3) and 1 sil. I am so hoping for new clothes before the trip but we will see.

Here are a couple of pix of my family. My girls, oldest in red, Christa, seated Amber, youngest Brittany.

and my precious babies!! Lindsey, Josh and crying is Isaac

Hello! I am back on straight low carb. Atkins style. And I am staying there. Truely. Started induction today and even though veggies are scarce, I will survive. I have green beans. And sis is taking me out to lunch, so I will prolly order a salad of some sort.

I am also not going to weigh for awhile. I am going to have The Man put the scale up where I can't get it. Then go by cloth sizes. I think that is the ticket. I am fixated on staying at a certain number, so I am going to eliminate the number. Because even though I panic at leaving the numbers behind, I sure do want to get into nicer clothes that are sitting in my closet. So that is going to be my motivation. Sort of like the yogurt and special K commercials where the already skinny chicks are trying to get into a bathing suit. really, but hey.... Its a good idea.

Sharing wardrobes...for nearly-new clothes as we drop size!

Edna, as we drop size, chances are someone has a slew of clothes in our new size, clothes that are now too big for someone a few pounds/inches ahead of us. It happens. Post your weight and size or inches measured and someone MAY find that you are just the one to help them make room in their closet for smaller clothes. This is a list of seriously LC shape-shifters, many of whom are just happy to pass along their 'big' clothes. Worth a try? Might be fun!

It is my intention to go through my clothes SOON (something always comes up...) and maybe I will have some to send someone's way. I tried on a 26 dress today (that I haven't worn since about 2001...) and it fit okay. I have clothes all the way up to 32's that someone can wear...and maybe there's someone out there with 26's and 24's that they've grown out of that I could wear for a while... Trouble is I still sometimes wear these bigger clothes - but I've told myself when the school year ends (June) I will not wear them back to school next year. I want to be a 24 when we go back in mid-August... Slowly down through the 20's...I'm taking my time, but I have to keep going DOWN!!!!! Anywho - if anyone out there has 26's - 24's (dresses, especially, or skirts - longer - past the knee, usually - a bit a-lined and/or flow-y...) that's what I normally wear...maybe keep me in mind??? I'll update everyone once I go through these clothes about what I have...

PS - To all who knew - my MIL had 2 surgeries in the past 24 hours - she is 83 and things were a bit scary. Anyway, she is in recovery and doing well. May even get discharged Saturday or maybe Sunday. Thanks for the prayers and well-wishes!

Hi-

Congrats to everyone who is doing so well-hitting goals and shedding weight!

**hugs**to those who are struggling and dealing with challenges and issues.

I'm ok-been playing yo-yo with the same 3-4 pounds around the low 290's-189 mark. Saw 287 one day and then shot up to 291 this morning.

Deb-your son and his Fiance make a wonderful couple.

Cris-hope your MIL and son are doing well.

Tanicka-I understand! *hug* and keep fighting the good fight-we will start shedding this weight again.

I'm still job hunting, still dealing with snarly and preparing to go to Italy for Court in June. Had some health issues that are unresolved but hoping things get better soon. Need to get back on track with my exercising and do more clean eating (been having blood sugar lows and fixing them with carbs then bouncing up with high blood sugars...and the weight also is bouncing around as a result).

I get online when I can but mainly I'm out looking for work and trying to get interviews or going to interviews but no job offers. Been told most of the time that they are interviewing now with the idea that when the economy picks up, they'll make a decision-but not to expect anything until next FALL at the earliest!! Oh well, I tell myself at least it is a good thing to get an interview!

Hope everyone is doing well. **hugs**

What a struggle. Hard to view this as an achievement, but...

Got to accept what I cannot change. That means taking my struggle to get to the kitchen, boil up some eggs, chop 'em up into eggy-mayo salad, and wash a few dishes afterward as an ACHIEVEMENT for a physically challenged person.

I'll take it. Just as I take a weight loss of an ounce or two. Got to take it and be grateful that I have what I have, can do what little I can do. What else?

By the time I'd made the eggy-mayo salad, I was too pooped to eat, but I had a few bites on a bran-rye cracker. Maybe one egg's worth of eggy-mayo salad, with the rest in the fridge for an easy meal or two Saturday. Not bad. Not a lot but...I'm working on gratitude. My celery is dying in the fridge, so I'll try to chop a lot of it into a fishy-mayo salad Saturday - and work on eating it all up.

Trash out? Nope. Mail picked up? Nope. But I did some handwash and hung it up to dry. As I teeter on my uncertain feet and feel the pain in my hinky hip, I remind myself that I am 100# lighter than I was on 9/9/06. I'm glad of that. Just wish I felt a little lighter on my feet...and my knees/hip. Heaving myself up from the straight chair in the dining area is a 3-heave job, with my right arm pushing up on a chairback beside me. What a hassle!

I'm trying to look forward to when I'll have 100# less to heave up off a chair, to my 65th b'day when maybe I'll be strong enough to dine out without being afraid I will not be able to climb out of a restaurant chair. Could happen! It sure HAS to be easier to heave up 299# than to heave up 400#, right? Right!

Am I deluded? Am I just fooling myself by daring to dream I can shift 100# off of me and into the ether in 9mos? I feel that it is possible, that I can DO this, I can hold firm on eating fish/eggs as I let go of just over 10# a month.

Oh, pray for me. If I cannot manage to do this NOW, then when??? Sigh.
