Thanks, Heidi, for your kind words. My mom was my best friend and my really only true confidante. Words do not describe the emptiness in my heart without her. I'm learning to get along, but my life will never ever be the same.

Thanks to you, too, Carol. Glad I'm not the only one who feels this was about FLorida in the summer. I HATE IT! My kids don't seem to mind as much, but I sure do! TOday was a nice day here. Got them a slip and slide and the three of them skidded along on bellies and butts for about an hour. Then they jumped in the pool. The twins were asleep by 9:00, which is great! I do really try to be a good mom to them. To spend time with each of them and to let them know how much I love them. My mom was a good mom, but the "I love yous" didn't seem as free-flowing until later years. I also can't remember ever going somewhere with her for fun - you know, a movie, a park... We went as a family/extended family with grandparents, but not alone much. We all went to Star Wars in the 70's...that, and 1 drive in movie are all I remember. I try to take the kids places - parks, the beach, movies, even just taking one to the grocery store to have alone time. I also can honestly never remember laying around in the morning snuggling with my mom/parents. I did that a lot with my grandmother, whom I just loved to pieces. I snuggle whenever possible with my kiddos. That same grandma was known as "Tickly Grandma," for all the tickling she did. I tickle my kids A LOT - but not to the point that it bothers them. I'm not the most huggy-touchy person with most people - but I make up for it with my kiddos. I just can't get enough of them! I know I need to cause the years are coming when they won't want to be bothered. I'll have to get some puppies then!

Cris My Mom was a very loving mama she didn't do much with me one on one she didn't have the time because back then our home ran by my mother doing most of everything that went on inside our home and Dad did everything on the outside literally that was how they ran it they ere both constantly occupied I was the 3rd in birth order of three girls.

I did feel sad a couple of times because my Dad wanted a boy and being the third girl I did hear them say it a few times which was airheaded I think now as an adult.

There was not too much huggung or snuggling after six when we went to school it mostly stopped. My young years were 1946 to 1960 after that I was a growing teen who didn't needs snuggling. As for doing things and going places My Dad took us places but there again it was work for Mom always she packed our food funny we did not go to a restaurant as a family not even once till my oldest sister graduated High School and it was thought to be some huge Celebration and Special O so special to go out to eat OMH that was for the Rich people in 1958 it happened we went to a Chinese Restaurant in Wellsley, MA
named Chen's Village it was so amazing back them we were like so wowed over the whole experience. Then My sister got a job at a bank and bought us our first Television so we grew up without a TV it was the best thing about my childhood. Didn't think so back then but now I am so pleased about that.

OH MY G I am just going on and on here sorry Cris hope to get together when it cools off in the fall and let's try to get some pounds off over the warm months cause we have the pool now.

Your children do have an excellant Mom I just can tell from your prsonality in your posts...

Hi-
Thanks Heidi, Kim and Carol. Your support, encouragement and caring mean so much. It has been rough and stressful. I'm also trying not to kick myself too hard or too often for making a few bad choices. Beating myself up constantly for falling apart NOW when I am here as opposed to when I was overseas isn't going to help. SO, since I can't change the past, I can move forward and I AM trying to make better choices each time I face one. It is amazing how much vigilance making good food and exercise chocies takes. Thanks again for being there. **hugs**

Cris-I am so sorry for your rough time. I am here if you need to talk. **hugs**

It is cool and rainy here-supposed to have storms this afternoon. I know I'm more prone to be down and make unhealthy choices when the weather is like this so I'm going to do my best today to stay on track. Hope everyone has a good day.

hi!

The funeral was nice. Grandpa lived a long (almost 81 y/o) full life, and though he'll be missed, he had lung cancer and Alzheimer's so his death was pretty much a blessing. He's out of pain and at peace.

Any word on baby Emme? she's here and all is well.

Summer is indoor season here in Houston too. I hate summer!

Carol, I loved your biographical post, I love seeing into people's lives, very touching and lovely to read.

Now please don't keep us in the dark regarding baby news!

Laura, thanks for checking in, I am glad you are feeling well enough to post- I love to read everybody's posts!!!

I grew up poor and we didn't do a whole lot of going out, and my mother was always working, working, working & in the army reserves, traveling a lot(single mom) so I sent a great deal of time with my grandparents, who were only 45 when I was born (my mom was a teen mom) and they were very old fashioned, farm people, very no nonsense. I think I blew their minds, when I was a teen and adult they wondered where on earth the ultraliberal, feminist grandaughter came from, even so we were very close and I spoke with my grandmother everyday, until she died ten years ago. She struggled with her weight, and with depression... I am eager to break that cycle so that my children don't have to see me in that kind of pain- both physical and mental.

Jennifer, I am glad the service was nice, and yes, sometimes when people are sooo ill it can feel like a blessing when they pass on.

we have been hooked on "the shield" too and no Carol, you aren't allowed to rent it!

I thought of you this weekend, when I was watching "glob trekker"- they were shopping in Thailand, and hiking in what looked like Afghanistan or maybe Turkey, I missed the introduction

Carol,
She is ssooooo beautiful! Believe me when I say "You will be walking on clouds for years." Our first grandbaby is now 3 1/2 and he is charming, funny, adorable. Our second is 1 1/2 and she is clever, smart, a copy-cat for sure, and has us wrapped around her pinkey. We just found out that the third is on its way but not until December. Each week, my daughter-in-law calls and tells me how 'big' the baby is and what is developing. This is week #5 and we have a beating heart!

I've been lurking since January but this baby brought me out!

Hi Tanicka...I remember when Hannah was born we were we were just so fo her she is still one of the cutest babies on LC Friends ...I think I understand your wish for the hospital days they have a feeling all their own.

The hospital my daughter is in has Lojack on Emmies ankle and one Lojack on her mother and fathers wrist if the wrong thing happens the entire maternity goes into lockdown...

have you ever heard of this new safeguard? No more baby switching such as the case from several years back do you remember it?

I had not heard of it and it is amazing how many safty measures they are taking.

My DH and I bought a Flowering Tree called the "Bougainvillia Ball Tree" and a Vine called the "Mandevilla Vine" to plant and name after Emelie.

The Emelie Tree and Grammie

Flowering Tree and Mandevilla Vine represent Emmie Life on Earth

They will be planted outside my LVRM and Den so I can always see them from inside my home...
I hope Emmie likes them
Have a Good Night Ladies BBT

Those are so pretty. I love bouganvilla (killed the sp I know ). I wish it grew here, but with weather so unpredictable....

I love my girl as she is now, but I kind of wish we were back to before we found out all her problems. When I was free to just revel in the beauty of my new baby. Now, I am more aware than ever that every moment with her is ever more precious. Still, with her burgeoning personality, its so hard to not smother her with all the affection, hugs and smooshies I want to. lol. Course now that she is mobile, them days are coming to an end. I just know when she officially gets her wheels.... Watch out!

I love babies. I'd have a dozen if it weren't for crazy economics, rough pregnancies and the sad fact that I have just one nerve.

Good morning ladies. Carol She is simply beautiful! Congrats again.
Those flowers are beautiful too.

Tanika has there been any more news on Hannahs condition?

Well I'm here and feeling very sluggish and lo. I need a plan I can stick to. My DH is even concerned at this point because Im feeling so down. I dont know weather to go LC again or low fat and watch what I eat. Im at a loss. Today I will start on LC again atleast to get my cravings under control then maybe Ill switch it up to a lc WW plan or something. So here's to day 1 again.

B - coffee, cream, bacon maybe?

L - small salad, blue cheese, chicken wings

D - ? not sure.

Hi

Arlene-**HUGS** Sorry you're feeling down and sluggish. Would getting out for a massage or just some light exercise in the sun help? Anything I can do to help? What is your proposed menu for re-starting LC-maybe we can make it more exciting and varied so you feel like you're eating decadently-I have been enjoying steamed shrimp seasoned with old bay seasoning and dipping them in hot butter since Publix has a sale on already peeled, deveined shrimp. Also been eating salads. Today I made the baked parmesan dipped chicken breasts and a salad for lunch.

Cris-I think it is great that you have so many posts! I love hearing about you and from you! How are things going? Sorry I missed talking with ya last night-didn't get your message on here until I was home later than that time.

It was in the 30's here last night-snuggled up with my kitties. Hope everyone is doing well.

**hugs**
