it was one of those so, so days... ate broc, kale & tofu at work, for lunch, with sesame seeds & Brags,
for dinner we had roast chiken & green beans. I have not had enough water today, and wayyyy too much salt. off to drink water. I finished painting last night and got all the stuff put back, but not all the picture, YET, sigh... it feels endless ![]() |

Breakfast/Lunch: asparagus, chicken salad.
Dinner: 2 grilled franks with slaw. (kids birthday party. ) I didn't eat cake or ice cream but did have couple spoonfuls of rotel dip, its not a carby dip.....i made it past the chips I just made a small amount of artichoke dip,( mayo, parm cheese and tiny bit of artichoke) to eat with couple pork rinds. I might be a little over my carb alotment but not near what it could have been. Two hours of pool exercising. Ok, I am really being good here, putting the dip up after only 3 dipped pork rinds. I am feeling guilty. happy dance for me.Hope everyone has a nice evening , will see u tomorrow. ![]()

Hi everyone!
I'm back from Italy and offcially legally separated. It was a very sad event and very painful. I don't know what to think or say about it. Please keep me in your prayers as my healing process goes on. When I got on the scale this morning, it said I weigh 290 so that is my new starting point. My goal is still the same as ever: to do whatever I can to lose the next 10 pounds (and hopefully have that happen within a month). My goal for July 1st is to weigh 280 (or less). I am back to job hunting and hoping I will find something soon. I am even considering part time jobs-just something to get money flowing in. I had alot of compliments about my weight loss and the things I have done to improve myself. That was nice. I hope to post a new avitar with a pic of me from last Tuesday as I walked along the sea. I missed all of you very much and hope to be more active on the board in the coming weeks as I reshape my life, my eating and (hopefully) my body. Congrats to everyone doing so well-getting on track, staying on track, shedding more weight, hitting new goals, etc. and supportive hugs to those struggling. You folks are simply the best and I love each of you SO much. **hugs** Thanks for the support and love each of you gives. I wouldn't be doing near as well as I am if I didn't have you all to turn to. Here's to a great June and the second half of 2008 being a time where we just keep getting better and better! --Laura |

Hi-Thanks for the warm welcome back and the encouragement.
![]() Heidi-she's adorable! Thanks for sharing the pics! Hope you have a better day today-with yoru eating and everything else too! June-thanks and I agree-there will be alot less of us to see when 2009 arrives. ![]() Since I got back, when I have been tempted to eat offplan, I just tell myself eating ____ will not get me to the next goal I have set for myselfm (down 10 pounds by the end of June). Sometimes that is really difficult and doesn't seem like much motivation, then I think about the big picture and long term and I know it is all about the choices and baby steps we make moment by moment because it all adds up. I hope I see some good results at the end of the month -we just have three more Mondays to go before July arrives! Jennifer hope you're doing better and I love the avi with the kitty! Hope everyone has a great weekend! **hugs** --Laura |

Laura, I hear you! I ate 3 Wasa crisps, yesterday. the small ones, only have 8 net carbs for 3, but geesh!!! three tiny crackers- was I INSANE. of course doing that kind of thing is not going to further my goals. I know it, and I need to knock it off.
One thing I do notice, is being prepared is ESSENTIAL. having quality produce on hand, having meats prepared (a few days ago I roasted a whole hen, like June) really makes a difference. Otherwise I see myself float over to prepared lunch meats and cheese and they make me swell up like crazy. I don't know how to get past the need for emotional comfort. It has been rough , lately with my body HURTING often. my back & neck ache all the time. I know I would feel better if I were thinner, I know I would sleep better, but all I want to do when I hurt is eat for comfort. Self defeating behavior. ![]() |

I had a bad day yesterday as well. I have been really stressed about a 15 page paper, presentation and storyboard I have to do for work by next Thursday. I bought SF chocolate covered pecans and ate at least a dozen of them, plus had 3 helpings of pepperoni/mozzarella cheese. My ankles are so swollen today! There's no way I am weighing anytime soon. I had 6 of the pecans today already--but no sodium yet and I am trying to get through the day without any cheese. I may have to get rid of the pecans to keep me out of them.

![]() ![]() ![]() I have another sinus infection Last time I comforted myself with food & it led to a month-long binge, but I'm determined no to do that this time. I've already had a couple of urges that I was able to overcome. Wish me luck! Laura - Glad you're back. All the best for a bright, happy future ![]() Glad you like the pic of Penny kitty. You can't see her face that well, but she was fussing at me for making her leave the flowers alone - after I took several pics with her big head in them of course (see below)heidi - Freya is adorable! Look at that smile! I have the same self-defeating behaviour; all I want to do is eat when I'm feeling low. The best advice I can give is to talk yourself out of it. I've really been working on that, and believe it or not it works! I tell myself that I might feel better (read: numb) while I'm scarfing down whatever, but is it worth my jeans being tighter, the scale being higher, and the self-loathing that will follow? I've been making an effort to make myself really think about it, and I've talked myself down from a binge a time or 2. Just this AM in fact. June - You made great choices at the party. Good for you! ![]() Kim - Good luck w/your presentation. Don't feel bad about what you ate. You're really good about knowing your limits and making changes. Does anyone else live in a salmonella tomato state? I really want some now that they're in season, but I'm leery. Do you think the farmers' market or buying orgaic at Whole Foods would be safe? |

Jen, sorry you have sinus problems. Have you ever tried a nettie pot(Ithink that is the name) My son usues one and he swears by it. A specialist in Denver suggested it and he has been using one for 3 years now. I have not heard anything about salmonella tomatoes or state. Can you give more details. I have been trying to talk myself out of eating for 30 years. So far it is not working!!!
Kim, hope to see you back on track soon. Its awful when we allow so many things to get in the way of our staying on plan. I am the world's worse. It seems like things keep getting in the way of what we so desperately want. Just keep remembering how good it felt to get below 200#. Throw those pecans in the garbage......below the nastiest thing u see in there. Wishing you the best. ![]() Heidi, looks like you had an on plan day!! I had too much coffee yesterday. I am going to try and limit coffee to one mug.........big mug!! If I could drink it blk it wouldn't matter as much but this love affair with cream is not working for me. Heidi, you hve to put Freyja's pic along side yours.......She looks just like you. The smile is one to melt hearts!! Laura, hope you had a nice week end. Hello to everyone that drops in today. Wishing us all a low carb day with at least 30 mins of exercise. |

Thanks for the well wishes. At least my binge was LC...but that being said I probably had another 20 of the pecans yesterday. I know there are SAs in the chocolate but have no idea how much. So last night I just threw them away. Lesson learned. Hopefully I won't pay on the scale Monday. I did manage to avoid the pepperoni/mozzarella yesterday anyway. ![]() |

Hi everyone
. Heidi your little girl is so cute! I haven't done so well this weekend. I was good all day yesterday and then last night while we were having our family game night I dug into the chips and ice cream. Then today I had an ice cream as well, dang those nutty buddies, why do they have to be so darn good .Tonight I will plan my meals for tomorrow so that I have no excuse to go off plan. Hey Laura, we are all here for you! ![]() |

I really offically blew it yesterday too... I ate a muffin & some homemade gnochi , over this whole period of time I have been able to cook for others with no problem, and yesterday I just SNAPPED. I just ate that pasta with my hands, not that much, but it was the way I felt, like a drug addict. I admitted it to my husband, because secret eating felt way worse, but dang, what was I thinking? today I have to be back in control
off to work, have a great day friends. ![]() |

Heidi, I know the feeling. I don't understand y we do that but its like being a zombie or robot and something else is in control. All without thought. You are doing a good job and I know today you are bk on track. That is the secret, getting bk on track as soon as possible. Sometimes it takes me a week or longer to get bk on track and I do at least 8 lbs of damage. Hope you have a great low carb day
![]() Morning Nikki, I hope your bk on plan today. Don't allow the slip to keep u off plan. You are doing a great job and need to continue. ![]() Yall should know I am talking to myself. We all need to stay on plan. Figure out what is causing us to go off plan then make adjustments. I am so tired of losing and regaining the same 20 lbs. If I had stayed on plan for the last year I would be below 200. There is nothing wrong with low carb eating. There r so many things we can substitute for the high carb foods and yet I(we) keep grabbing for the bad carbs and undoing what we have struggled to do. I am going to try and get thru June without one high carb slip up. That said, after last week of bordering on slipping, I am going to make the rest of the month strict low carb, high protein. I have decided I am not normal. I need to realize this and understand that I will never be normal. I am sick with a disease that can only be controled with low carb foods. Everytime I eat a high carb item I am poisoning myself. I would never knowingly eat rat poison...OK, I am rambling again and if I don't stop now this will be a book. Sorry!! Hope everyone has a low carb day.......EAT PROTEIN!!!!!! to all that post today. |

Check out my stats!!!! Doing the happy dance right now
![]() ![]() June - I forgot to thank you for posting about the nettie pot. I found lots of info and am going to look into it once this infection is cleared up. Congrats on 60 lbs! Heidi - I have so been there. Today is a new day, and you have a clean slate to go forward. Don't be too hard on yourself if you're not perfect. I've learned that every day, meal, snack is an opportunity to learn what we did right, what we did wrong, and how we're going to use what we learn to go forward in our journey. I really commend you for telling your husband about your secret eating. When I did it it felt like a huge step and it was a relief to get it out in the open. |
