hello friends, nothing to report here, weight wise, but bought a new pair of jeans from AVENUE, which were 16s- which is cook, BUT their jeans run super LARGE, so I know I am still in 18-20 range at Lane Bryant. The big deal is that my stomach has gone down some. It was really out of porportion to the rest of me, so I am happy for any leeeettle teeny movement.

the loose skin is another issue, that I am trying hard not to focus on. That and staying off the scale, which call to me like a siren's song.

sigh, cheese & nuts, if I gave up cheese and freaking nuts and red wine I would prolly be near my goal.

It is one of those days when I am in a funk and everything feels blah.

I am cooking a leg of lamb, cabbage, polenta (for the fam of course). I am hoping for a nice family dinner. I made some
Baba Ganoush
Categories: Appetizers, Dips, Vegetarian, Vegan
Yield: 1 batch

1 1/2 lb Eggplant
3 tb Lemon juice
1 ts Salt
2 ts Minced fresh garlic
3 tb Sesame tahini
-- (optional: substitute
-- yogurt or sour cream)
1/4 c Chopped parsley
1/2 c Toasted pine nuts
2 tb Olive oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Prick eggplant all over with a fork.
Bake whole until tender (about 30 minutes). Remove from oven, halve
and scoop out the flesh. Blend in a food processor with the lemon
juice until smooth. Mash the salt and garlic together and combine
with the eggplant, along with the tahini. Cool and stir in the
parsley and pine nuts. Before serving, drizzle with the olive oil.

too, which I like as a sauce on meat.

Laura- I would love nothing more than to have food for the week built up, but those days are over. Ever since The Man came home off the road, he is a big eater and aways has been, but I cannot keep stuff built ahead. Not at all.

Well its not going to be an issue for much longer.

My weekend. Blah. lol.

I am having troubles with The Man again. He is giving be grief because I can't find online work to do from home. I find something, think it might be legit and it turns out they want money. I don't pay to work. Simply put. Especially if money isn't guranteed. So basically I am finding myself in the precarious position of damned if I do and damned if I don't.

If I get a job, he gets mad, if I don't have a job, he gets mad. I am just SO tired of it. So with that, its official that I am getting a job this week, no matter how much he gets mad, then I am making plans to move. Somehow and some way. I am much smarter about money now than I was last time I tried to leave, so I can do this. I can make it on my own and I can be alright.

Just a QUICK check in (and then I'll post more hopefully tomorrow)!

I have done REALLY well at staying OP this weekend, even at The Cheesecake Factory and with a lot of stressful, busy stuff going on! Yay for me!

This week I have off from work (paid... woo-hoo!) for Spring Break, but I of course ended up booking just about every minute with something (I'll never know what drives me to do that!?)... of course, it's mostly fun stuff or things that are on the "to-do" list that I never seem to have time to get to, so it should be a great week.

Anyhoo... off to have a LATE dinner with my hubby (it's 11:15pm here... that's how crazy this weekend has been!), and then BED! Sweet dreams friends!

Hi everyone!

TaNicka!

Heather - Good job staying on plan at Cheesecake Factory! That's not always easy.

I'm down 1.5 lbs for the week. More would be better but it's TOM so I won't complain.

I got through Dylan's Pizza Hut/Skating field trip without eating off plan! That is progress!

I feel so stinking happy. Only thing that could wreck it is if Hannah has something wrong with her heart. Which I am thinking she doesn't because otherwise they would have called us in sooner right??

good afternoon friends...

it was a monday,
woke up earlier than usual to take Maxwell to his new TAG class, as 7:00am, which turned out to be at 7:30 which made me nearly LATE for work. no breakfast, arrived STARVING, rummaged around and ate a T of almondbutter, and prolly a cup of cold tofu, then a big spinach salad for lunch.

I am having coffee, and trying to feel less stressed.

T I am glad you were able to avoid stress eating this weekend- it is always the stress that drags me down.

the good news is that my sewing machine seems to be functional again, and I can work on some new projects and keep myself busy.

I hope you all have a good rest of the day, and I look forward to reading up on what's going on. Thank you all for being HERE.
it feels like such a blessing to have folks to check in with.

Gettin' - I think you're right = they would have called I think.

Ladies, I live in a high carb minefield. Since I've been home from work I've had to make 2 butter and bread sandwiches and cut off the crusts (I would LOVE to eat those...) and I've doled out two small servings of Bryer's ice cream to the twins... I'm now about to make some dinner - and I'm totally an emotional eater - I feel I'm gonna eat quite a (low carb...) meal cause I've had a day from heck!

snacked on left over lamb , and some cheese, so I may have to skip dinner.

Tamale, I feel like I am being punished by god, some days, when my children are asking me for treat after treat or snack after snack I baked cookies on Saturday night and thankgoodness they were all eaten, because I was weakening big time, by 9:00pm or so.

Well, I have fallen into the nuts again, but its better than a blizzard dairy treat! I am having a 3 minute chocolate cake made with almond flour to drown my sorrows. Hannah has a hole in her heart. I have to go to cardiologist to see how bad it is.

SOOOOOOOOOOO, when I got out of Drs office, it was funny though, cause my first thought was, I am NOT stopping for anything, maybe burger. Well the DQ I went to didn't have the fancy burgers, so I deliberated about ordering a SF treat, but decided it was too many carbs and just got a diet pepsi. But upon getting home and it all hitting me, I decided I better make a 3 minute cake in lieu of easter candy. I even resisted the offer of ice cream from The Man (see trying to sabatoge me already! ). So thats progress, even if I am backsliding some. lol.

Ohh...so sorry Tannie! That may explain her small size a little though. Some of those defects are easily corrected and since she hasn't had any "blue" episodes that is a good sign! I'll be praying for you and WTG on avoiding the stress eating!

I'm so sorry Tannie.

Honestly, if eating's what you need to handle the stress at least keep it low carb and try not to over do. I know it's not the best thing, and everyone else will probably say just the opposite, but in my experience changing the way you cope with stress takes time and practice. And receiving a serious diagnosis about your child is about the worst stress you can be under, which, IMO, may not be the most productive time to try to change those behaviors.

Hello everyone... just checking in!

Ok, so the weekend went really well... foodwise and otherwise. I had A LOT going on, but managed to stay completely on plan! Saturday was my friend's bridal shower (lots of carby foods that I avoided) and the church service aimed at 20 and 30-somethings that I'm helping lead that was followed by a dessert reception (had ONE bight of frosting! and lots of coffee to avoid everything else!). Sunday I spent all day at my Mom's house with my family sorting through all of her things and packing them up (she passed away in late November and we're starting the process of getting her house ready to sell). It went well and despite fast food runs, I stayed OP. Yesterday I packed a lunch to bring to my friends for the day and then my hubby and I went and babysat my newest neice for the first time and brought along corned beef and cabbage to make there.

Today's Menu:
B- 1/4c pistachios (4)
L- beef franks, cauliflower (8)
S- strawberries and cream (4)
D- cobb salad (4)
TOTAL=20 carbs/8 glasses of water

Now I'm off to try to catch up on everything I've missed on here during the last few days...

Arlene- You stayed on plan as bets you could. How are things going otherwise? I'm sure you're stressed with the 15th coming up so soon. Got ya in my thoughts and prayers!

How is everyone else?

I used my grill for the first time last night-the food was tasty. I'm still unpacking and sorting my stuff and hope to have it all done by the end of this weekend.

The weather is lovely here and I hope to get out and enjoy it a little bit today and certainly next week when I can in between my job hunting.

Hope everyone has a great day!
