happy birthday baby H!

Whew, made it through a family get together...
I broght raosted asparagus, with EVVO & balsamic dressing, shredded cabbage with EVVO & lemon dressing, and deviled eggs. They provided grilled burgers, si I did really well.

thank you for the kind words June, my weirdness comes from a very messed up childhood, which I am trying to overcome everyday, one step at a time.

Dh & I did a lot of housework together today and felt generally productive!!

I talked to my walking partner, and we will resume our nightly walks, soon. He was really pusing me and so is my husband (in a positive way). So I know that walking made a positive impression on people. I need to get that back.

Weight today 277 , I am not pleased but then what should I expect when I know I could have been better during the month. Not going to make one single promise to myself this month. Just going to take it as it comes. June should be a good month for us all. Its summertime!!!!!!

HANNAH!!!!

Tamale we need you, good thing you are BACK!!

June, one day at a time, I guess. I have not dared to step on the scale, but I know what I need to do and I will do it. At least we don't have to feel powerless.

I am baking (of all things) a cake, for a little old lady, that bid on my cake coupons at my son's school auction. Since I don't have a lot of $$ to donate, I donated a bunch of coupons for homebaked goods. this sweet lady has been gobbling them up, at a rate of a dozen per month, so far. very cute, and it makes me feel good to have donated.

LOL Heidi, I use to do that I have a 5 lb fudge that I always donated. The same man always made the highest bid. It brings back fond memories. I always enjoyed doing things like that even tho at times it was a chore. 12 cakes in one month?? Do you think she has a fella???

I almost caved a bunch of times today, but I managed to stick to it:
B: 3 small eggs with 3 sausage links and 1 slice turkey bacon, 1/2 c coffee with 1pkt splenda and 1TBS cream
S: some pork rinds, lots of water
L: double stacker (2 patties and cheese only) and water from Wendy's
S: 1 slice bologna with mustard, water
D: taco salad with taco meat, cheese, sour cream, and picante sauce w/ romaine...
about 6 strawberries with 1 pkt splenda and as little cream as I could stand... Water
WATER WATER WATER!!!!!!!
Sounds like I've eaten reasonably...
Hope you all did well, too!

Hey all! Today's b-day with Hannah went very well. Yes, I had cake, but did tremendously well, not on plan today at all, but the food could have been much, much worse.

We went to church, then to picnic/service project for church camp and to my moms today.

For exercise today, it was all about landscaping. lol.

Welcome back Nikki!!!

Didn't get to exercise in pool yesterday because I waited for my friend and thunderstorms moved into the area just at the time we were going in I did alot of yard work earlier tho, boy is it ever hot. I know as one grows older the cold becomes more bothersome but I also think the heat does too. Bit sore from moving landscapers, feel it mostly in bk of thighs. I need to do some serious ab work. Any great, quick ideas????

Glad lil Hannah had a nice birthday. First birthdays are always so special

Yup, crunches, military hold and bicycles. Also Abs of Steel is pretty good. They have a post pregnancy workout that is great. It has about 10 minutes of exercises, but the are mostly just variations on crunches.

I tried this variation this morning and REALLY felt a difference. Lay down on your bed with your shoulders and head hanging off the bed (beware the suffocation factor for the um, well endowed members of our team) and fold your hands under your head, like a normal crunch, lift up as high as you can, then settle back all the way down til you touch the bed and keep at it for 12-15 reps. Do this a few times, resting after each.

The extra space couple of inches you don't get on the downward part of things with floor exercises makes a huge difference on the upward motion and your abs fully support you, where on the floor, we tend to use our backs to help.

Uh, great idea Gettin, but I really wanted something without doing exercise!!!!! Just teasing. I do like the idea of doing them while I am still in bed. I do several things before I hit the floor, when I wake, because it gets my juices and oiling started so I am not so stiff. Some mornings its a piece of cake some I can hardly finish my bicycle reps.
Have you tried the shapely secrets muscle bldg that someone posted elsewhere? You hold your muscles tight for 25 seconds. I have done them few times and I can already tell a difference in my arms. Its amazing how easy yet how strong they r. Its a seven min workout but so far I have only done the first one which is only the arms. Thanks again, going to go and do some pool exercises before another storm decides to move in. Waited to late yesterday and didn't beat the weather.

I like to use my yoga ball, for those style of crunches, and I also like to hold it between my ankles and lift it up, I really feel it in my stomach when I do that...

My stomach didn't like me for a week the last time I held that ball between my ankles and lifted up!!!!!!1 I will give that another go!! Time to get serious, with all the outside work I have done with a lil more exercise here and there I should get there this time. I am ever so tired of just posting and talkin about it. Its time to get it done.

Morning ladies, it's early here, I wanted to check in before getting ready for work. I figure starting my day off here is a good way to get my mind focused on having a low carb day. Sounds like we are all working hard at getting back on track. I stepped on the scale this morning to see what the damage was from eating carbs and not exercising over the last 2 weeks and I'm up 8.4 lbs . Yesterday I was a good girl and I have todays meals planned so I have no excuses. Lets get this done ladies, I know we can!

Hugs to all

Morning I am up and kicking.
Snuck a peek at the scales and Im down a lb. Its good thing because last nite I was a tiny bit miffed. I checked for ketosis level and there were none. zip. Trying to figure what I could have eaten that would throw me out of what little I manage to get. Is it the coconut oil in my morning coffee or its the ham I had for breakfast. I am going to bypass the ham and see if its the ham. I can tell a difference in how I feel since I began the coconut oil so I will continue with it for next few days.
Taking my grands to see Indiana Jones today so I will have to endure the smell of popcorn Still doing my morning exercise before getting out of bed. Yesterday I had 2 hrs in pool, movement the whole time. I do believe walking in the pool is the best exercise. Its easy, I enjoy it and I can always tell a difference in how I feel.

Hope everyone has a wonderful low carb day, me included

I'm 8 lbs over my lowest weight too. I think for now I'm just going to accept that I'm having trouble being 100% committed and not beat myself up over it. Even though I'm 60-70 lbs overweight, it's better than the 200+ lbs I was overweight when I started last January.

so, so day for me, nothing to report.

June, some days it just doesn't show. Yesterday afternoon I dipped and had none, then I went and jogged and dipped last night and had moderate. It's a guideline, not an absolute--so don't let it drive you crazy!

I agree Jenn, we are much better off than we were! However, speaking from experience it is easy to slide and let that 8 lbs turn into 80 if you aren't careful. If you are struggling, maybe aim for maintenance for a few months until you are ready to tackle it again. Just don't stop weighing or posting!

BTDT on the weight re-gain, unfortunately. No way am I giving up; just not going to beat myself up if I eat off plan. I was doing so well in that regard, but let my emotions get the best of me & binged. Then I got mad at myself for it, rinse & repeat. No more beating myself up, and lots more thinking about how far I've come instead of always thinking about how far I still have to go.
