I am still on plan. My weekend was busy is all.

Yesterdays menu:

B- 3 egg omlet with sausage, cheese, cream cheese and onions, 3 slices of bacon
L- none, lol
D- 2 cups of coconut curry pumpkin soup, homemade bbq sauced chicken stuffed into 2 lowcarb tortillas
S- chocolate caramel mock danish

Today so far:

B- 2 lowcarb bbq chicken wraps
L- none
D- 2 c. leftover soup, turkey unwich or might add sausage to soup, salad w/ ranch dressing
S- not planning on any

I ended up moving my saturday goodie to Sunday because despite what I said about it being only Saturdays, I missed Saturday and this was a better alternative than what I was hankering for.

Back and boy was I good!!!! I stayed on plan the whole time. It was a fun filled trip with all sorts of goodies and great food.. I even passed up Aunt Sally's pralines. I ate eggs, sausage or bacon for breakfasts, salad with protein for lunch, and my dinners were mainly protein choices. I took couple of atkins protein shakes with me just in case I needed a quick pick me up in case we were long between meals.(which were not needed) I will weigh in the morning, hopefully there will be a small loss. Even if there is not a loss, I know I am ahead because I usually gain 5-8 lbs when we take week end trips. I just don't think I gained, course if I did, you can bet you are going to here about it. The couple that was with us ate like pigs. One being a low carber herself but she has reached goal and she will definitely be bk on plan. She was considerate of me by not eating anything sweet and I really appreciated it

Kim, wow, congrats!!!!! 199, girl I am so proud of you. Way to go on the run, I know it has to be a great feeling to know u completed the race.

Arlene, Carol, Heidi, Laura, Nikki, Tanika, glad to see(read) yas, will catch up later. Hope you all had a wonderful week end.

Thanks everyone! I can't wait to welcome each and every one of you to this fabulous land of Oneder!

WTG Junebug! Those NSVs make it all worth while and that's a great one!

Sorry you are hurting Heidi Hope you feel better soon and I wouldn't worry a bit about the difference in scales, it's better to go by the one you weigh on consistently anyway. It's just a number, a guideline...lol.

See you all soon!

graduation went well for preschool. My son wasn't too much of a fruity pie this time. Not like at Christmas.

The bestest part! I had CAKE in my hand and did not eat it! Not even a little crumb! I got it to feed a bit to Hannah, plus Dylan wanted to have cake AND cupcakes, so I improvised.

I did however have a couple sips of punch. Not alot, just enough to keep my tongue from sticking to the roof of my mouth. lol. Count it as 1 or 2 carbs and thats it. I am not much for that sort of thing anyways. It was just generic sprite with sherbet in it. Not my sort of thing.

it was one of those days,
beginning with two wild children in the office, one throwing oatmeal and when I went to pick him up, throwing himself on the ground, yanking on my injured shoulder.

then we had a child fall today, and most likely break his arm.

I called his mom, and then his dad and left messages.

the child went from hysteria to moaning and unresponsive in about 8 minutes.

there is a message on his ER card that says "no ins, please don't call an abulance"
so I waited another five minutes and called his emergency pick up, then I called my co admin, who is affiliated with the religious order that owns the school.

20 more minutes went by and his mom shows up in a old tiny pick up truck, with the emergency contact friend.

she rushes in, I tell her, "let me drive you to the hospital! Oskar has been in pain for 45 minutes" the arm is swollen and kind of twisted out of shape.

so mom sits down and proceeds to do REIKI !! WTH??? and then says over and over "I need my husband, we have to wait for daddy, but his phone isn't working" and another 15 minutes pass, then she asks for arnica, and other homeopathics, which we have, because we have a clinic in the school in the evenings.
more time passes, the child is checked out from pain,
mom decides that we can't move him, so she tries tying him onto the cot with some knitted ropes, which makes the child cry. I ask her to please pick him up and put him in my car, and when I go out to meet her she has put the cot in the car and I say, I don't want to drive him like that, because it doens't seem stable or safe, can't she just sit him up and put on the seatbelt??
"he has too much fear around moving" ummmm, but not too much fear around being in PAIN FOR AN HOUR??? #$&*?

so then the gardener offers to drive them, in his Mercedes, which he thinks is large enough to carry the cot & the mom in the back seat.

I am furious,
then after screwing around for another 15 minutes or so, her husband shows up. the friend she arrived with, had paniced and gone to get him at home.

I feel like this woman's behavior was totally insane and it made me so angry. My boss on the other hand felt like it was totally ok. the gardener agreed with me, but thought I should have driven the unsecured kid.

I don't think the mom wouldn have even taken him to the hospital if we hadn't push for it. she would have continued with the reiki baloney.

I was so stressed when I left the school, I felt like stopping for fast food, just something to comfort myself, but I didn't. I did just drink some coffee with cream

I have a massive headache and I feel like I need to lie down.

Heidi, I totally agree that the child needed to be buckled in. Regardless of the pain he was in, he needed to be buckled up in a seat belt. Coffee and cream is the way to go. For me its a good fill in for comfort food. I just don't always remember it. You did a great job by passing the fast food place. KUDOSSSSSSSSSSS

I weighed this morning and I weigh 275. Once again I am moving downward. I just need to stay motivated and keep going down. Yall just don't know how pleased I am that I didn't eat one single thing off plan while we were away.

Heidi, I have worked in a doc office before and the scales r not always right!!! Only your scales weigh the real you

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Heidi

Ditto June

How absolutely awful for the child and for you.

I am surprised he was allowed at school where they said he could not be brought to an ER because they have no ins. ???? What kind of parents won't get medical help for a child???
Imagine if his injury was worse than a broken arm...then what?

hope your headache clears soon

I am going to share an article I liked on exercise it motivated me long reading may help

There’s a saying, “Use it or lose it.” That’s pretty much why exercise is good for you. But that’s just the short answer. The details of what actually happens in your body are truly amazing and, I think, super motivating. Here’s the the rest of the story you won’t want to miss!

[This article is going to motivate you to exercise more. So here’s the obligatory, but important, cautionary note. If you are going to start an exercise program, you should have the OK from your doctor first to make sure that you don’t have any potential heart or other health issues.]

How Exercise Makes You Stronger and Healthier

The very first day that you start your exercise program, you will be healthier than you were yesterday. Why? Because your body immediately responds to the exercise by building new cells and tissues to support that exercise. It gets ready to better handle the exercise you will do tomorrow. Isn’t that amazing!?

There are several marvelous ways that your body changes when you begin a consistent aerobic exercise program. All of the improvements your body makes increases your VO2 Max, which is a measurement of of your fitness level. Specifically, VO2 Max measures the volume of oxygen a person can consume in one minute exercising at maximum exertion.

Here are the incredible changes you’ll see in your body:

Heart
When you train over a period of time your heart will grow in size, allowing it to pump a larger volume of blood with each stroke (or pump). This allows more oxygen to be delivered to all the cells in your body. At the same time, your heart also becomes stronger and more efficient at pumping blood.

Blood Vessels
In response to your muscles needing more oxygen, your body will grow more capillaries to deliver more oxygen faster going forward. Isn’t that cool?! In addition, over time, regular exercise will make your blood vessels become more flexible allowing them to deliver more oxygen rich blood more efficiently. And if that wasn’t enough, the increased blood flow in your blood vessels serves to clean out excess cholesterol, keeping you free of clogs which can cause strokes and heart attacks.

Red Blood Cells
As you exercise each day, your body says, “OK, I get it. You need more oxygen. Alright, turn up the red blood cell production!” As your red blood cell count increases so does your ability to receive more oxygen more efficiently.

Cellular Level
This improvement is very cool too. In each of the cells in your body there are these little power machines called mitochondria. What they do is produce energy by combining oxygen and glucose (or other fuel molecules). This combination produces ATP which is the molecule that gives your cells the energy they need to do their cellular work. When you exercise regularly, guess what happens? Yup, your body creates more and stronger mitochondria in each of your cells, making you more powerful and giving you more endurance for everything in your life! Wow! How exciting is that!?

Muscles
When you use your muscles beyond what they can handle, either through aerobic exercise or weight bearing exercise, it causes your body to build new muscle tissue. Tiny tears can occur with weight lifting, and when these tears are repaired, this is what causes the muscle to become larger and more defined. Larger, stronger muscles will raise your metabolism making weight management easier.

Your VO2 Max

If you want to test your VO2 max, a simple way to do this is to perform the Rockport Walking Fitness Test. It is well regarded as an accurate way to measure your VO2 max. If you can’t get your heart rate above 120 with fast walking, here is a similar jogging test. (Again these tests should only be done with your doctor’s approval.)

What Kind of Exercise is Best?

The best kind of exercise is the kind you do everyday for 30 minutes, whether consecutive minutes or broken up throughout the day. You should aim for a target heart rate of 55-85% of your max heart rate. Here’s the formula to calculate your maximum heart rate:

Maximum heart rate = 208 - (0.7 X your age in years)

Example: If you are 40 years old, then your maximum heart rate = 208 -(0.7 X 40)= 180.
Moderate activity level would be between 99 - 126 beats per minute.
Strenuous activity level would be between 126 - 153 beats per minute.

So it doesn’t matter if you walk or run, bike or swim, play tennis or rake the yard. As long as you do it everyday and get your heart pumping you will make yourself healthier every day. The only advantage that running has over walking is that you can burn more calories in a shorter period of time. But, the advantage of brisk walking is that it is easier on your joints than running. So just choose whichever activity you like better, and go for it!

Another thing to keep in mind is that you have to stop in the middle of your exercise, don’t fret. As long as you finish it later, it’s fine. You can do 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. Everyone has time for that right?

My soon to be released book on healthy living will have more information on healthy exercise. In the meantime, all you need is a pair of sneakers and you’re good to go. Vary your exercise every so often for a new muscular challenge and also for fun. Here are some other aerobic activities you can try:

maybe some of you younger gals can do these I am underwater moving only.

biking
cross country skiing
swimming
tennis
strenuous yoga
squash
hiking
kayaking
golfing
soccer
jumping (jump-rope or mini-trampoline)
dancing

thanks for the info... I love walking... if I can get my back out of the depths of pain, I will resume walking again in a the next couple of days. Jogging becomes an issue, with the bust getting too jumpy

the child is having surgery tonight to put a pin in the arm! YIKES!
