Happy Monday everyone
Weekends fly by don't they?Well I did not do very well this week after all. Between tacos and homemade pizza I did manage to keep one of the pounds lost from last week. This week will be better! It is a beautiful day today. Tiff has a Dr appt in an hour then I may take her for a walk Food will be a small steak that I have in the fridge and chicken chili tonight for dinner. I also need to drink more water. Tropicana has a SF lemonade that I fell in love with, but I drank too much of it over the weekend. Okay ladies onward and downward! |

I was supposed to weigh in today but didn't cause I didn't get much sleep and I know that throws me off. DS4 knocked a 19" (big and heavy) TV down onto his head from a nightstand... I didn't see it happen, but somehow he ended up with a cut about 2/3" long on the back of his head. Being a head wound, it bled worse then it was - but still so scary - it could have been SO much worse. Sooooo, as you ladies know I do almost each dang month (sometimes more than once...), I packed him up and headed to the ER. Four hours later we headed home, DS with a staple in his head!!! What does not happen to my freaky family?!?!?!? So, I am tired and cranky and I will be figuring out what to do with that TV this afternoon. I don't even know if it still works... Happy Low-carbing, ladies!!

Its 2:30 pm and I am just now getting to the water bottle. Its a quart of water so at least its a beginning. I have been running around shopping since 9am so I hve not been able to eat(I did take a bite of steak, just so my body wouldn't think I ws in starvation mode) or have over one cup of coffee/cream I just sat down with my fav meal, chicken, broccoli, grated parmesan cheese and couple tablespoon of hellmans all mixed together and heated. Going to down this bottle of water then I will sit, relax and enjoy another mug of coffee/cream. I intend to drink at least another quart of water, but shooting for 2 more. Dinner tonite will be the rest of the steak and nothing else.(I hope)
Heidi, I hope some of the swelling is down. Please and try to get all the water in today. We really have to do better. I keep telling myself there r millions of pple in this world that would love to have just half the water we have access to. We can do this, I know we can. Everyone, I think we need a water challenge. What do yall think? Shall we??? HotT, so very glad you lil boy wasn't hurt as badly as he could have been. Your house sounds like mine use to be There will be a day it all settles down. Awww but then there will be grand children![]()

Good Monday Evening! lol. My day has been lazy, but focused online. Much to kids dismay! Tomorrow is our Primary and I have no idea who I am going to vote for. I know who I am leaning toward, but its not a clear cut choice. They both have good issues and I am just not sure.
I also feel really tired today. I have been hitting the carbs pretty hard the last couple of days to get them out of here. I know one thing, I am not buying anymore. Not even for the family. If they want something, they will have to go to the store themselves and get it. I am going all natural. Since rededicating my life to God, I just feel that I need to stop focusing on food and start focusing on other stuff. I realized that I am being told how to get this weight off. Its been nagging me since yesterday at prayer time when I asked for help with my weight issues. I must get out more and stay away from food. Mr. Mike was right all along. Food is fuel, not a reason for living. And although I know he has had relapses like everyone else, doesn't mean the sentiment isn't true. Because it is. Food is fuel, not a reason for living. With that said, aside from checking in at night, I am going to limit my online time severely in order to go and live. I will be volunteering somehow. Not sure how with two hip huggers that I NEVER get a break from, but perhaps I can find something I can take the kids to. I am going to spend more time with them and just stop focusing on food beyond the time it takes to make a eat a meal. As long as it has whole natural ingredients, I can't go wrong.

I just read all the posts and we are all in the same place trying to control our relationship with food it is the same old battle of the buldge...I went and tried some 4 carb Tastycakes one and did that a few days and ate a couple of other sugar free items and went up...it was so disheartning what will it take for me to get in complete control again...I want to go back to weighing on the food scale portions and screening everything I put in my mouth I want to graze and pick it is awful.
This Friday we are flying up to RI so I can meet Emelie in person we are ordering in from Uncle Tony's on Mothers Day and flying home to FL on mon so I will be praying and working on DH to get behind me and posting even more as soon as I arrive home. I am back in the pool Thank God for THAT at least but I want to see the scale finally move and I mean really move. I wish you all to find your whatever it takes so in this thread we can lose some weight and stop feeling so Could anyone give help ideas on post partum blues and Baby cries everytime they put her down she is one week old today Love to all ![]() ![]()

read Dr. Sears, Baby book, on attachment parenting, get a sling and wear the baby so baby and mama feel as one... get REST, by having everyone else do everything else, lay around and nurse, nurse nurse... on demand nursing is a great way to get those positive hormones flowing
form relationships with other mamas, online works well (I still "talk" daily to mamas I met on Hipmama, nine years ago) MOTHERING has an online board, much like this one. eat high quality, green, nutritious foods, get some sunshine everyday. ![]() ![]() |

okay, time again for a group
![]() ![]() . I wish so much I could help all of you get your mojo back! The only thing I can say is once you get it, don't cheat. Ever. It's the only way I've been able to keep it going. Really think long and hard about making it a way of life. Like gettin' said, eat to live, try not to live to eat. It's only food and its power over us is only controlled by each individual one of us. Remember, you aren't weak, you are addicted and addictions are hard to break but it can be done! I so value each and every one of you!Kim P.S. Carol, that first month is hell, pure and simple. Like Heidi said, have her sleep when the baby sleeps and don't worry about the house, etc. They'll all settle into a routine soon. If mom's crying and sadness get worse where she feels like she can't function, have her call her OB doc. She might need an antidepressant to get through it. Typically, it's just exhaustion and it gets better with time.

Yes, Carol, I don't have books to tell you about - just experience with TWO at the same time! First, I firmly believe babies can tell when we're stressed. Tell DIL to make an effort to relax around Emme. The house can wait!! Meals can wait. And, the baby can wait a minute or two, also. Not ever to neglect her, but to pick her up the second she makes a noise is also not the best move. I'm wondering if Emme might not have a bit of reflux going on - my DS did when he was a baby. Have mom consider holding Emme with her head a bit up for a while after feedings. And, of course, good 'ol gas may be a contributor. One of my kiddos would burp and we'd think "okay," but guess what? There were more to come! Last, but not least (and not until she's older, I believe...) my life was made much easier by vibrating baby chairs and a battery-operated baby swing. I know the swing is not until several months from now, but they may want to look into vibrating chairs. Somewhere I have a pic of me on the bed, bottle in each hand, feeding my sweeties, each in a vibrating chair! LOL You're bringing back some TIRED memories!!!!

I second everything Heidi says, even third the recommendation of plenty of sunshine. Being born is very traumatic experience for a baby. My pediatrician told me 42 years ago this month that being seperated frm the heart beat of its mom is frightening for most babies. That piece of information helped me alot. Just knowing that my baby was not being spoiled, I was not doing anything wrong, it was normal seperation anxiety.........I don't know it just helped me to relax and enjoy it all.
Carol, I know you are besides yourself. Enjoy your trip and I can't wait to hear all about it when you return. This recent picture is lovely. Beautiful long fingers I see music in her future![]() |

So... talk about MOTIVATION! I so want to DO THIS!!!
Today's Menu: B- turkey on oopsies (6) S- brie (2) L- salad w/chicken (6) D- steak and broccoli/cauliflower mix (6) TOTAL = 20 (walking at gym this afternoon... ~3 miles)

That is great exercise Heidi. Does walking while shopping for couple hours count?
I did that Monday and for 1 hr today. I am a fast shopper. I find going frm store to store, getting in and out of truck wears me down a notch. Keep up the good work Heidi.. soon, soon, you are going to be where you want to be![]() Carol, I know you are enjoying your pool, I wish I could be using mine now. Geesh seems with all my on line tie yesterday I read but never checked in here.
I'm doing well. I just ordered the book Natural Health and Weightloss by Barry Groves. From what I understand its like Atkins but with 660 carb count and less protein. It sounds like something I can do for life which is what Im looking for. Anyhow all is good. I must get some housework done though. |

Well, I am still half ( l ) about all this. I intend to get back on track though next week as soon as I can shop. Maybe even before. I have a ton of meat and eggs, just not many veggies. A lot has been happening. Good and bad.
I found out that Hannahs heart issues are pretty common, and that she more than likely will grow it shut eventually. I am surprised that her family doctor took the time today to explain it all when her specialist left me hanging and worrying. NOT too happy about that right now. He might be of the thought that the less said at the moment until he knows for sure the better, but it sucks for me because of the added worry. For nothing! And item number 2, I found out my great uncle Dean died yesterday. Very tragically. I expected him to go sometime, but not like he did. I can only hope his heart attack beat the fire. That is all I will say about that. ![]() |

Gettin' - I'm really sorry about your uncle. I had a cousin (he was about 50 I guess) who was a plumber. He was changing a pipe out and the pressure was supposed to be off (sorry, don't know much about this stuff...). Well, it wasn't. Totally decapitated him in a split second. Why do bad things happen to good people? DOn't know why I felt the need to share how he died - just thinking of tragic losses, I guess. Anyway, I am really sorry.
