Don't we all? That's why it's so important to find a plan that you enjoy. That way you don't feel deprived, or that having to watch what you eat is a chore.

Since it seems like you like a variety of foods, WW may work well for you. Nothing is off limits on WW, but, as I'm sure you know, you have to count everything. The trade off would be having to eat lower fat which, for my tastes (you may feel differently), is not as tasty or satisfying as l/c. Another good plan might be South Beach. It's lower fat & higher carb than Atkins, but not as low fat high carb as WW. Could be a happy medium for you. Maybe try this: For a week or 2, eat what you want, when you want, how much you want (according to hunger) Don't worry about weight (weigh only on days 1 & 8/15), but don't use it as an excuse for a free-for-all. Again, eat only to your hunger. Keep a food journal, and also journal how you feel mentally and physically. At the end of the 1/2 weeks look back on what you wanted to eat, how you felt, what you enjoyed/didn't enjoy. And see if you lost weight or inches. That should give you enough time to see what you like/don't like and what you can stick to. I truly believe that so much of this is mental. Taking the diet mentality out of the equation will allow you to eat to your natural preferences, which will help you to pick the right plan for you. I guess what I'm suggesting is similar to Intuitive Eating

Please get to a doctor! What if it were one of your kids or your DH? You'd find a way right? You're just as worth it as they are

Thanks Jennifer. I actually bought the IE book but I have not read it all yet.
I'll tell you if I ate what I wanted it would look something like this:

B - coffee, cream usually nothing sometimes a danish or something.

L- FF tacos or burger with fries or egg rolls usually jack in the box food

D - tritrip, green chilis, lots of veggies (broccoli, zucchini all good ones) with butter, a dinner roll baked potato with butter and Sour cream or some kind of rice and a soda.

I dont usually snack during the day, After all this food LOL whos hungry?
So I suppose my eating would be more toward LC which is why I am trying that now.
Maybe I can still lose on LC but eat over my allowance in carbs with veggies?
I dont know, my main thing is I need to cut out all fast food and chineese food.
and I need to get my head in it. I need to move more and eat less. I also know that eating LC does make me feel better. I just want that magic pill LOL.

Arlene- for your struggles. I am too. I am actually thinking about doing a more natural/international type diet. I can be adventurous as long as I am not eating Squid or any other nasty foods like that.

Nothing about Hannah yet, I wasn't able to get an appointment with the cardiologist until the 3rd of JUNE! CRAZY!

I dunno if I can handle another month of worry. This is really getting to me BAD. Over the weekend, Hannah got sick enough to have labored breathing and I just was so fearful that it would be too much for her. Not knowing how serious she is, its scary and these doctors don't care one bit how far out of mind a person is getting to be.

I just had the best dinner, I should have snapped a pic but it was too yummy to stop eating LOL

I had flank steak stuffed with gorganzola cheese, roasted pepper and spinach.
I also made some pan seared brussel sprouts with garlic and pine nuts.

Very yummy and pretty low carb too. So today I was 100% on plan

ugh, can I join the strugglers today?

I am still fighting the constant PMS + backache, crying jags and nervous eating/craving. I am beat, just tired as heck today.

and I blew it. I ate a square of a vegan cake I had to make for a work function. it had a lot of oatbran and coconut, but it also had sugar. I am so bummed out, I can't believe it. and I also ate way too many peanuts.

I have not planned well this week so far and I have let myself down.
In the morning I am officially back to induction.

my frustration is just driving me nuts this evening.

thanks for letting me VENT. I needed it

Arlene, have you tried Hanson's diet soda? I like those for a treat.

Arlene - I don't know of any plan that incorporates all of that. Technically nothing is off limits on WW, but the fast food, danish, cream, butter & sour cream would take up a lot of your points. The major principle of IE is that the only limit is your hunger and cravings, so it may work for you when you need a change from l/c. Your dinner tonight sounds wonderful! Congrats on a successful eating day!

Tannie -

Heidi - Arlene's right - we're all in this together. Don't be discouraged!

Good morning all! I tried WW a year ago. I only did it for 2 weeks I was hungry and had cravings all the time. LC works best for me.

I would like to lose 15 lbs in May. Come on everyone, lets make May rock!

Don't know what happened this past week but seems alot of us kicked the bucket and the food just fell into our mouths. I was furious because I lost then in 2 days gained it back. Weighed this morning and its gone again. I really wished I could have a blinking lighted sign and horn in my brain that says, Don't eat it!!! you will gain 5 lbs if you do.

Arlene, please do whatever it takes to get your blood pressure down. That is a worry and should be top priority on your list. Please!!

I do low carb because I am addicted to cream in my coffee. Sad but there it is.

Carol, I know you are still grinning

Hope everyone has a beautiful day.

Yes Carol, that is my grandson My fourth one but there is 10 years difference between this one and my third, so it was and is almost like the first. He is the only one that lives out of town but we do try to see him at least once a month. He is definitely a joy.

Arlene, sounds like you are definitely bk on track. Maybe you should try the egg cream shake. I did and really like it. Definitely a treat and good break frm regular breakfast food. I havn't figured out why it is so filling compared to eggs and bacon but it is.

Hope everyone has a great low carb day. May is the month we all make the grade, i just feel it

Yes Arlene she is being drenched in love.

Your Menue Fare is terrific I may be a copy cat since I can't focus with all our celebrating Emelie's birth at present to even chose what to eat

Arlene I got too many egg syndrome a while a go I have two eggs with nice crispy bacon once a week...the other mornings I like having a bowl of chicken vegetable soup,
Maggies Cereal with Almonds and a tad 1/2 and Cinnamon,
Recipe for cereal 2 x a week, and LC Muffins are good with Cottage Cheese on the side I sprinkel Cinnamon and Splenda on the Cottage Cheese and change it to yougurt that way too.

Hope we make it this time I am pulling tight today had one roast beef roll up for breaky and will have Chicken Vegetable Soup this afternoon Dinner will be ribs and salad

Thank You Brenda June Arlene Jennifer Laura Heidi Gettin Cris Edna and all who sent reply greetings sharing in our celebration of loving Emmie and her new life

Have a Nice Day !

good morning!

Arlene, have you tried, doing healthier versions of your fast food fav? I worry about the quality when I eat ff. try to become a food snob

I did the Dean Ornish diet a few years ago, which was super healthy, but it took too much time, that is my downfall, not having enough time to focus on myself. I need to get better at planning.
today I take the kids to schools, then clean then dash back to pick up Frejya from preschool, let her nap, then feed the fam, then back to the preschool to host a Maypole celebration, and then to bed, I hope...

I croched 70 garlands for the children at my preschool, for the maypole dance, I hope most of them show up & bring flowers from home to adorn them.

Hi-
Arlene-High BP is serious stuff. Can you check with the county health department for a clinic that might at least get you some low cost or free medical care and get you on some meds? Here they have a clinic once a month and they have a sliding scale for the fees. Your meal sounds great and congrats on shedding 2 pounds! KUTGW!!

June, Cris, Carol, Nikki, Jennifer, Tanicka, Heidi, Arlene and everyone else-I know we can make May a winning month. Hope we all have a great day and a wonderful month! I'm restarting this morning at 293 and the next 31 days are going to be positive ones!

Happy May Day!

My main goal for May is to remain cheat free till my anniversary (May 29). Being cheat free for April resulted in a loss of 7.5 lbs & 10" from 8 places!

That is such good advice! I try to only only eat good food. I've worked hard to convince myself it's not worth it otherwise. And really, it isn't. Once you get un-used to the taste, it tastes nasty when you eat it again. I'm really amazed at how much my tastes have changed.
Hope you're feeling better today. Sounds like you could use a personal assistant!
The maypole dance sounds like a blast! Have fun!

HT & Laura - Good luck getting back on plan & staying there! Cheering you on!

Well, I started the day off ok. Took a walk and had a pretty healthy, if albeit a SMALL breakfast by the time the kids scavanged my plate. Nevermind that DS had his OWN plate, he felt he had to share in mommy's since Hannah was. PFFFT. Kids!

Lunch was bad, but I had good intentions! I ended up eating a couple of frozed chimichangas because my burger decided not to get all the way grilled! Dang wind kept blowing out my burner, so I ate off plan. But good news is I finished the burger up in the oven along with the chicken I had on too and can have it later I guess.

At any rate, not too bad considering....
