Thank you, everyone. Sitting here in "purple puddles" as FlyLady says...what's the proper term for those on this board?<happy tears>

Doing personal board stuff while at work is not normal for me because I don't want to take advantage of a great boss and flexible situation. Normally I'll just check in during the evenings (most nights). But since I'm new to this thread, I wanted to check in as soon as I got going on the computer today.

Somehow LC has been much easier this time. Don't get me wrong, it's still work and staying-the-course and planning (especially planning!). Maybe because I had decided this is it. Of course, I thought that with other attempts and other plans. But this board has been THE difference. So now I'm noticeably down in weight and you all have boosted my confidence level tremendously.

One thing I have yet to do is actually start working out. Now that my knees have stopped hurting, I've decided to join a local Planet Fitness. You gals my inspiration! Thank you all.

I checked snopes out on the pictures. They aren't photoshopped, but some of the information has been changed. They also were shot with shorter than usual people with her. I got an email with those in it too, so I decided to check it out.

I hope yall have a great day!

I know exactly how you feel, I have been there too! Which is why I love this little group so much, I've met people just like me! Folks have no idea how isolating it can be to think you are the only "one" going through a massive weight struggle.

I used to get urked hearing friends who were 20 pounds overweight complain about their "struggle" and in my mind I was thinking, only 20? Try being 300 pounds overweight, then talk to me about struggle!

I'm of the same opinion Cleo, considering "Fiber" is part of my name

I'm also of the generation where coffee enemas were all the rage to clean sludge from the colon and detox the body and herbs were placed in your belly button to find out what you were lacking.

I have been to too many (6) colonoscopies to see for myself there is *no such "sludge" to be found in the colon.

I'd hazard a guess that 95% of constipation problems stem from a lack of adequate water and dietary fiber intake.

*(my experiences only, take it for what it's worth )

id like to put herbs in my belly button and see what happens

i too think that whatever happens, it will work itself out in your digestive tract....i just try to eat right and am still working on getting my daily water and sometimes my innards work fast and sometimes slow and it always evens itself out in a few days time....

i have always hated taking anything that interfers with your body's natural state or takes over control of your body...i dont know why but i feel so strongly about that that i think it must relate to my past-life memories (which is a whole OTHER forum i participate on LOL) anyone wanna know? i'm happy to share my memories but i digress.....

i never tried any cigarettes or drugs, even though half the ppl i know smoke cigarettes or pot, i've never once been tempted...i dont like cold medicine and often wont go to the dr unless im REALLYYYY sick...i never EVER take laxatives cuz of my control issues....but for some reason i dont look down or judge anyone that does...some of my friends smoke stuff, one good friend runs to the dr every other day etc...but yes i'm digressing...

On the ethereal feeling of being absolutely empty, clean as a whistle!

I'm all in favor of natural function myself, which is probably why my jar of psyllium sits unused on the shelf. Mostly my water consumption helps keep me chugging. But...have you ever noticed how ethereal one feels after a flu or anything that empties out everything? I noticed a great feeling after a bout of food poisoning - after I was first afraid I'd die, then that I wouldn't die but just wished I could die to feel better, it was that gruesome. When it was over, I was clean as a whistle - and reluctant to put anything inside me. It was an ethereal feeling. I wondered if it was what bulemics seek. Amazing feeling. So I can kind of understand those who engage in liquid fasts to purify and to elevate spiritual feelings. Or just to balance digestion/weight.

Well, I hope anyone reading this will do something gentle rather that seek medical intervention (don't get me started!!!) - and I always tell my friends to start with liberal doses of hot HOT water, rather than chemicals from pharmacy, when I'm asked what to do about a stoppage. Prunes, too, are efficacious.

One of our members is looking at a cash bonus for showing a 7# loss this week, after showing nearly that much of a loss last week, so I think a purge just might help her cash in - even if she just shows a loss for the weigh-in and then stabilizes with a bounce. Cash is an interesting incentive to diet.

Red letter day...got up and OUT...did errands...huff-puff...

It's been weeks since I cranked up the 1989 Plymouth, so I got up, hauled trash out and got a package to the p'office to mail as I picked up a month's worth of catalogs that stuff my tiny pobox. Had a nice chat as I waited in line to mail a pkg, about old movies and about William Holden and Veronica Lake and such. The clerk at the p'office was waiting on a blonde he said looked like Veronica Lake - and the blonde was too young to know who he was talking about. He's about my age, I'd guess, and a familiar face, so I chimed in and we talked as I waited (wondering why none of the many men ahead of me did not let me go on ahead, as I was clearly suffering and about to topple over from standing for a while - standing is harder than walking, for me). Gabbing helped to distract me from my fear of passing out in public and waking up on the floor. Aghhh!

Took me 2hrs to do a couple of errands in my village. Not a lot of driving, just a few blocks to pick up stuff, drop off stuff. Did not have what it takes to get to the dumpster, but the trash is in my trunk, ready to drop off - next trip. My HUGE FEET make getting in and out of my car a real challenge, as they catch on the door and call on me to tug, bend, pull, contort. Aghhh!

Got home - thirsty as anything - and sucked up water. Must dehydrate me to move about, as I often notice a parched mouth/throat after I exert myself by walking any distance. Hopefully I'm burning calories as well as dehydrating!

Ate real food for breakfast and lunch, instead of my usual morning hot slosh. Now I sure feel like a nap. Been telling myself how PROUD of myself I am, just for getting up and OUT the door. Sunshine felt good. P'office clerk says we are due for rain this afternoon, but sun is shining right now (1pm). Glad I am indoors, in case it does rain, as traffic gets bizarre when it rains in SoCal. Folks do not slow down as people normally do in rainy weather. Strange!

Hope y'all are having a good LC day. Gosh, I'm pooped. Naptime for Zer!

Drink more water, take a warm bath, getta cuppa joe, and/or eat something high in fat (put cream in the coffee...).

Zer... heh heh...you said "probing." heh heh

I've been cleaning a lot today. DD is 10 years old today!!! Her bio-mom (AKA psycho hose beast) has once again missed the day. Crap, if you can't even send your kid a bloody card on time... Long story, but trust me, she is deserving of everything negative I think of her (and no, I don't say these things to DD...). Anyway, my dad and his wife are coming over for dinner and cake, so I want to straighten the house some.

Welcome to all the new-bees!!! This site - and this thread - rocks!!!

I made myself a 1 minute chocolate cake for tonight - no need to cheat when I have a yummy treat of my own. Gonna weigh again tomorrow - think the post TOM woosh might be in the offing.

LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BBL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMM...what's your flimsiest dress?

Just thinking, no harm to plan to wear something nearly weightless for your next weigh-in, just in case a few ounces makes you a winner of that cash prize for dropping 12% of your weight during this competition. Just saying....um....

Got to thinking about that...it's been a while... so it's all kind of hazy now...but I do recall a probing search for erogenous zones that were not yet discovered...nibbling and nipping...and yelps of delight as I struck gold! Oh, what fun all that was, discovering new spots to pleasure both of us - both the bold adventurer and the one being explored. Great memories!

So what's YOUR recipe? I bet we can cook up some nifty ideas amongst us!

Drowsy Des, got any variations from your current adventures in sleeplessness?

Garden bathtub? Outside??? Eeeek!

I'm browsing, googling, to find out just what a garden bathtub might be. It sure sounds like a nifty accessory to luxurious living, to be able to soak "a deux" or just spread out and luxuriate solo in a warm bath. Ahhhh...so relaxing.....

Hi-fibergal-love the pics and you look AWESOME!!! Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Hope AMM and fibergal both had a happy weight los anniversary

I know I'm about 20 mins early but ahappy anniversary to Des too!

As for colon cleaning, I believe in all natural too-no laxative in use here. Often I just eat more fiber and drink alot of water but normally I don't have constipation issues-if anything, it is the opposite on atkins for me. I hope my post was not misundestood. I simply meant when I had a colon exam I had to take a bunch of laxatives and it was awful. I take the cal mag pills to help prevent leg cramps and I think helping to movethings is a side effect/benefit.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

Ah, found the packing tape I've been searching for...

Yep, turned up a box I meant to send off to someone as soon as I got the right stuff to go into the box - and there's my bright orange holder with a big roll of packing tape, inside the box. Sigh. Wouldn't you know, just today I bought a roll of tape at the p'office. So now I have two rolls of packing tape, both in the place that I keep tape and such. Next time I want tape, there it will be. Sigh.

Who was it said I'd likely find the lost roll as soon as I'd bought another? Yep!

Been a quiet day, once I got myself back home from my morning outing. Been doing a bit of straightening, a bit of this and a bit of that, puffing and having to take a rest as I looked at what to do with my next bit of energy. Slow going! Hip hurts. Whole dang leg aches from the hip hurting. DangNABBIT, anyway!

Getting dark now and I dread another long night with me trying to get comfy while the hip is seizing up and I'm trying to think the leg into some relaxation. Sometimes it relaxes, a bit, and it's almost possible to fall asleep and other times I think that maybe I'll just get up, eat a ton of carbs, drink a ton of milk and put myself into a carby stupor. Dumb thinking, but I get so crazed for lack of sleep that I think it might really work. So far, so good, but oh, how tempting it is to just eat myself out of this misery. Bad old habits!

There. That's a full-out whinge. I hope writing this out will keep me from an act of carby foolishness that I'll hate myself for just after I've done it. Sigh. But...what IF it would really give me a few hours' sleep, huh? Aw, shucks.

At least I now know where my packing tape is. That's something, in an uncertain world. That's something. With that, I'll bid y'all a g'night. G'night!
