Lucki - this is part of the McKenna plan that confuses me as well..eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full...I get that, but what I don't get is making sure one eats enough food to lose as well Remember that McKenna's plan is don't count anything........kind of hard when you have learned another way of eating...

It is great that you were able to dump your stash, but keep yourself in check so it doesn't turn into a chocolate binge as well..KWIM. Okay, so you had a bad eating moment, but you were able to get yourself back on the right track right away...keep at it Lucki...you are doing fine and making progress

TLC has been playing some reasons of this show...I may re-watch the cravings one...I think I may try to use that on cheese....since that seems my downfall lately....

but don't forget that he also says to eat WHAT you WANT. I am still eating low carb items. I just got nervous that if i ate entirely low carb that i would cheat myself out of carbs and mess my system up or something. I'm not too terribly worried about yesterday. I stopped taking the prednisone yesterday too so i think that it was mostly that talkin. I can feel it coming out of my system. So I will make sure that i flush it out. Probably see a gain this week but then should be back on track for sure. I wanted to sit with the EFT stuff today but we've been runnin around! Maybe later. Let me know how the cravings show is the second time around!! Thanks for the encouragement!!

I think there is only one more show right...

So far the 4 principles and the emotional eating technique is what is most useful to me. I haven't applied the cravings technique yet and after last nights show I will make now extend our wallks...I have been thinking of it for a while and just never have..same ol routine..time to start adding more steps..

Awwwwwwww, I forgot to watch the program, actually I was not at home but I could hve recorded it. I will check my guide and see if I can record the repeat. I don't think I will change my eating right now, I am finally in ketosis and I don't want to mess with my food right now. Everything I have read sounds interesting.

June..you don't have to change your eating...I haven't.

What I learned most from this is (although there are other tools)

- eat when I am hungry
- eat consciously (eating slower, and chew not inhale my food)
- stop when I am full. McKenna states overweight people eat with their eyes...we see the food so we eat, even though we are full/or content

- tapping technique for emotional eating

I still eat on my plan.
My opinion, just like with everything else, take what makes sense to you and leave the rest....

Hey ladies! Didn't get to check out last night's show but I did DVR it so can't wait to watch it tonight. Still haven't tried the tapping technique out....I think I need to watch that episode again to get the process down right. I have been continuing to use the craving technique sucessfully and have been eating more slowly and consciously.....not 100% of the time...but a lot more then I did before (which was like never). So hey it's progress!! Hope everyone else is doing well and having /feeling positive results!! Old habits are hard to break (like inhaling my food. lol) but I'm sure w/practice and reinforcements we'll get there!

Have a great week!

I caught the show last night and even before it was over we were in the car and running to walmart to get pedometers!! the positive reinforcement was so powerful!! I sat laughing!!! When we sat to watch the program i noticed my legs were swollen. By the end of the show my legs were not swollen anymore. I have no idea what happened but was happy it did!! I am bummed there is only one show left!

Now I'm really curious about last night's show!! Can't wait to go home and check it out!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much and are finding the positive reinforcement so motivating!! You will have to let me know how you like your pedometer....I know the one I tried before (a free one from my company) wasn't very accurate so I gave up on it. But I'm thinking maybe a nicer one would work better?!

the one i got you can program your goal into and it keeps track of it for you. it counts steps and miles. not very fancy but it does have a nice sturdy clasp which is nicer than the ones i previously had. will need to program my stride into it later.

That's a lot fancier then the one I had before....there was no ability to program goals, etc. But that is a great feature! I will have to check out Walmart sometime soon!! THANKS!!

Today I decided to start taking the stairs again at work (work on the 4th floor). I used to do this all the time, then stopped...for <insert whatever nonsense reason> so to start adding steps I decided unless I was carrying something heavy in (like my pop) I would go back to the steps.

I got a pedometer when I did the Susan Komen 5k but haven't used it...I sit most of the day anyway, but I am making a conscious effort to walk around the office a bit more...just have to dodge my boss so she doesn't think that is all I am doing!!!

Lucki - Are you tracking your steps with the pedometer?

Gwen - How is the eating conscioulsy going for you? Did you catch up with the other shows?

What is the last show about? I can't remember

I didn't use it yesterday cuz i was on the couch all day with a migraine....but i have it programmed and ready to go today!! i've already walked 165 steps just getting ready for work! I programmed my goal for each day to be 10,000 steps. I will not start out that high but I am looking forward to achieving it. When i used to use my pedometer like a few years ago i was averaging about 9,000 a day. So this will be good. I managed to lose the 3 lbs i gained because of the prednisone over the weekend and today i weighed and i'm down another 0.4!!!!!!! I like eating regular foods but still a bit leary since i have done LC for so long. we are still making LC foods...tonight will be cauliflower bake! YUM!! Maybe add some ham steaks to it too. I am beginning to feel that food is not the enemy anymore. Such a great feeling.

Sundays show was rather vague....all they said was that we'd learn the most powerful tool yet.......hmmmmmm........i hope it doesn't send us into orbit!!
have a great day everyone!!

Good afternoon Diane and Lucki! Sounds like you are both ready to go with your pedometers!! That's TERRIFIC!! I really need to get in gear with that also! Maybe after I watch the last episode I will feel as motivated as you two!! No unfortunately we were just too busy last night & didn't really get any time to watch the last episode....so hoping tonight I can fit it in!

Way to go with the stairs Diane!!

And Lucki--not feeling like food is the enemy anymore?! That is HUGE!!!!!!! And Congrats on your additional LOSS!!!!!!! AWESOME!!

Well back to work for me...Have a great afternoon & evening!!

Morning ladies!! I have read about the tapping and hve already tried it and it worked!!! I think I can definitely use this tool as long as I remember to use it before I put something in my mouth that I shouldn't.

I had to go to a pot luck dinner yesterday, with at least 20 wonderful desserts. The only thing on the table that I could eat was ham, chicken, green beans and deviled eggs. One bite of the eggs told me there was something sweet inside so I left it alone. Same with the ham. I never walked by the dessert table but seems everyone at the table sure did It was definitely a control feeling. The tapping came later when I was presented with m&ms on the ride home. Did the tapping and actually forgot the bag was calling my name. It was a good day.

June - You did AWESOME!!!!!! All that tempation!! WOW WOW WOW Glad you finally got to see the tapping technique

Lucki - Sounds like a rough day yesterday. I still think you are doing well on this...and even eating the garlic bread you are still stopping yourself. You ARE making progress

Gwen - How are you doing?

Deb

I found myself inhaling food once again...eating while I sat in front of the computer so I had to pull myself back and close my emails and internet and watched the rain while I ate....

Only one slice at breakfast. but i'm still managing to finish everything on my plate. my old root canal is acting up and so i think i am hurrying so it won't hurt again. tomorrow is a new day. i am however NOT eating before I go to bed!!! So that's an improvement!!!!

WOOHOO JUNE!!!!!! WTG!!!!!!! Glad you were able to use the technique and have it work! It really does work..i just need to remember to use them!!

Lucki - You are making lots of good changes!!!!! Keep at it.

What kind of bread do you eat? Depending on who you listen to, and sometimes I do listen to Dr. Oz because I like how he explains things, he says to eat a piece of 100% whole grain bread sprayed with olive oil before breakfast and that will help keep you full. I have tried that, not sure if it works, but when I do have the one piece I don't feel guilty about it.

Goal today: EAT CONSCIOUSLY!!!!!!!!

SOO, today I got up and ate consciously and now i am full! but i can't decide what to take for lunch!!!!

I am close to Ft. Worth...

Good job Lucki. I had cheeseburger quiche for breakfast and have some for lunch. I feel like I am losing touch with the 4 principles so I really have to work on this..... I am not sure why I seem to have lost track of them

I WILL do better at lunch

Oh WOW! You're not that far from me!! I can make Dallas in about 13 hrs. OK....so you're probably farther than i thought........still a days drive.

Here's your reminder:

1. EAT WHEN HUNGRY.
2. EAT WHAT YOU WANT.
3. EAT CONSCIOUSLY.
4. STOP EATING WHEN FULL.

I think number 3 is the most important. cuz if i always listened when i was hungry i would need to take stock out in safeway or walmart which could be dangerous......if i always ate what i wanted i would binge far too often......and who is EVER really full??? But you put that number three in there and even CHOCOLATE is safe!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK today....i know you can do it!!!!

I agree on #3 as well.

For #4 I remember McKenna saying overweight people eat with their eyes, which makes sense. If it is on our plate, we finish....most thin people can stop when they are "full".

I did better at lunch today, didn't get on the pc at all, ate slower. I was hoping to leave part of my lunch, but actually I could have eaten a bit more. Now I am having my sugar cookie tea with cookie dough davinci

I seem to be hungry all the time lately. I do think if it is real hunger or not, usually it is I try to drink tea to feel more full.

Deb - good luck on DH's lasik. I had cataracts on each eye and ended up getting "lasik" but covered by insurance because of the cataracts. I actually ended up with mono vision by accident, which can be a pain.
