LAURA! i am so glad you are home safe! forgive me your box is still not made it to the post office but i will get it sent out Monday

great job ValerieisGoing4it! KUTGW!
i think i got a little visit from the whoosh fairy! i weighed at Curves yesterday! 333 still above my starting weight at Curves but down 5 from 338....I'll take it!

i got this in my email yesterday

CHOCOLATE SINGS

I'm tasting all that's possible.
I try to eat the food I need, and do the things I should.
But life's so short, my friend, I hate missing out on something good.
This year I realized how old I was.I haven't been this old before! So, before I die, I've got to try those things that for years I had ignored.

I haven't smelled all the flowers yet.
There are too many books I haven't read. There's more fudge sundaes to wolf down and kites to be flown overhead.
There are many malls I haven't shopped.
I've not laughed at all the jokes.
I've missed a lot of Broadway hits and potato chips and cokes.

I want to wade again in water and feel ocean spray on my face.
I want to sit in a country church once more and thank God for His grace.
I want peanut butter every day spread on my morning toast.
I want un-timed long distance calls to the folks I love the most.
I haven't cried at all the movies yet, or walked in the morning rain.
I need to feel wind in my hair. I want to fall in love again.
So, if I choose to have dessert, instead of having dinner,
then should I die before night fall,
I'd say I died a winner,
because I missed out on nothing. I filled my heart's desire.
I had that final chocolate mousse before my life expired.

This is my gift to you -

Be mindful that happiness isn't based on possessions, power, or prestige, but on relationships with people we love and respect.
Remember that while money talks, CHOCOLATE SINGS ! Fall in love again! Add some more whipped cream!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone. Well, Wooshie, the fairy I guess kinda visited. In the midst of TOM - with no cheating - I went all the way up to 307 (glad no one was around, cause I said some awful rude things to the scale that morning...). This morning I was 303.6. While this is not twoterville, I am at least moving down. I was careful this morning to not have a lot of bacon or sausage (1 little link sausage, and maybe 3 strips bacon...it shrank up to NOTHING!), and instead stuck to eggs and fried mushrooms. I'm watching salt and portions and trying to drink more water. I REALLY want to get under 300 ASAP!!!! AND STAY THERE!!!!!!!!!! This afternoon I'm taking the kids to a party someone from work is having. Wish me luck that they will behave!!!!!!! Off now to clean my closet - what a WRECK! BBL!

Up a pound since Wed's weigh-in. No mystery why.

Even before I glance at my food diary, I know that salt is part of my gain in weight this morning. And I see a few carby mouthfuls that may play a part too.

But I weighed and recorded the data as useful info, just as I balance financial records - without laying blame/shame on me. Just as I owe more when I spend lavishly, I have to pay the piper for each too-carby bite that I made a part of my eating plan. It's no mystery. What a change, for me, in philosophy and in handling weight data. My datebook looks pretty gaudy with BIG RED WEIGHTS showing up along with other pertinent data in my life. I'm so grateful for this rational approach to identifying actual weight and to embracing my scale as a vital tool for a reality check at least weekly as I refine my menu choices. With my data appearing in my signature and my goals clearly stated there also, it is less and less likely that I shall be able to munch mindlessly as if what I eat has nothing to do with the difficulty in moving, in walking, in sitting or standing.

For me, this is a HUGE blessing. Now, got to use these tools more wisely!

Goal #1 for March, 2008

Let's have some fun! With spring just around the corner, our thoughts go to outside, fresh air, bright yellows, pinks, and baby blues, and getting out of the house again! Our first goal for the month of March is to "DO a new DO for Spring!" How many times have you said, "I wish I had the time to.....", "It's been years since I have.....", or "I've always wanted to....."? This month, you get to be creative, you get to dream, you get to DO something new for you for Spring! The catch is, it can't cost a dime..

let's see i have things to sew(purse for a friend of DS12, comfy's i really need to make for the shelter, just plain mending and taking up hems) , embroidery kits, paint for projects of someday....corn hole games to paint and sew the bags...organizing100's of books that are stored at my Mommie's......... which should i DO first of these things i have laying around and that won't cost me any money to complete.......any suggestions?????

Stitching - even just mending - lifts my spirits, rejoices me!

Stitching always lifts my spirits. Maybe save some mending or stitching for an evening boost to spirits - as well as a way to pass the time while hands are busy and family is hanging out, watching tv or just catching up on family news.

Hi there! I'd like to join the group. The last time I touched a scale I was 336 pounds. I'm going to attempt to step on a scale today and see if I'm within a measurable range (not off the scale). I just joined the site a few days ago, but I'm so impressed with the support and camaraderie I see here!

Thank you, all of you, for support...it's paying off!

Just made it back from an early lunch (finished off that tunafish salad, at last!) and managed to get away with only what I planned to eat - leftover salad and that vintage tunafish from last Friday. Not this Friday (yesterday). Aghhh! I'm thinking I'll not be opening any tunafish for at least a week now. Sardines and salmon for this week. Eggs, too. I'm aiming to make a serious dent in weight, now that I have my talking scale to give me solid data. No more guessing!

Couldn't have reached this point without inspiration from y'all. That's for sure!

Hey yall. Just checking in. I'm not completely back on plan yet, but I'm being more careful.

HT, sorry about your mom's anniversary. My mom passed away in Feb. of 1970, and it's still hard. I have read that if a parent remarries soon after a spouse passes, it usually means they had a good marriage. They miss having someone special in their lives. I hope that makes sense to you. I think the alternative of your father growing older alone would be more to worry about. When my dad remarried, it stung. After awhile, I understood. He was also raising 3 kids by himself, which was pretty rare back then for a dad to do.

I hope you have a lot of fond memories of your mom. No one can replace them. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
