Hey Deb, you have such a beautiful, youthful face. You are going to look incredible once you get to goal.

Tell your hubby great job on the pics.

Hey Des, why don't you get extensions to feel more girly??? They seem to be really big amongst celebrities. Why not treat yourself until you can grow your hair out a bit.

Laura, so glad your b'day was a good day as well as a day for us all - and your family and friends too, I bet - to be thankful that you are starting anew with a fresh outlook. I think your next pix will show a lot less tension in your face and a truly big smile as you celebrate TWOterVille. Surely unpacking all the boxes will burn some serious calories. Can't help but lose weight as you break down boxes and tote stuff to the dumpster. I've learned to rip up boxes myself, to make them easier to tote off by one hand (t'other hand being busy with a cane) as I work to free up more airspace. Summer is coming. I'll want all the air I can get in this small room on those toasty days! Even now, I'm drinking water and hoping my body will use it to cool me off as the afternoon sun roasts my window and raises temp in this room. My VCO is liquid now. No more solid for me to scoop up by the spoonful for my hot slosh. Might have to start putting my VCO into the fridge, where I shall be chipping off bits as solid as candlewax.

Miss your posts. Thanks for checking in. Sorry about the pain - yours and mine too. I'm trying to focus on the possibility that taking off pounds will help reduce the pain as I walk, although I think the nighttime pain is with me for life - as is the daytime napping to catch up with sleep missed at night. Sitting up to sleep is just not the same, cannot be as restful for a body racked with pain.

Anyway, glad to hear you are still alive...and still here. Hang in there!

Des, I can definitely tell a difference in your pictures. Your abdomen looks much smaller in your newest pictures and your legs and collar bones look fabulous! I'm really jealous!

Des, at 30, there is a strong possibility that your skin will surprise you, so get busy with massaging and creaming and oiling and doing all you can to nourish that excess skin and to encourage your body to tauten, tighten, absorb excess tissue. The human body has amazing capabilities to renew itself. Do as much dry brushing and massaging as you can, with mental energy focused on what you are doing, to back up physical attention to slack skin that you want to see less of. I'm betting you will find your body responds to your attention. You are just a babe, really. Do try! Might prove so beneficial that your eventual trim will be less expensive and less traumatic for your body. Just a nip and tuck, not a major overhaul. I've had friends tell me they are surprised at how parts of them perk up and become youthful again. At 64, I do not expect much, but you are so young that you too may find yourself looking at a youthfully perky body soon!

You will someday be glad you documented your physical size (and that glorious head of hair too). Some of us do not have pix of our full size, being adept at hiding behind others when a camera comes out. I have no photos such as yours and will have to make do with a series of head&chins shots that remind me of how my weight soared and shifted since my baby pix show a kid with blonde curls and a gaze that cannot have imagined living in a body the size that my massive body is today. My upper arms are larger than yours, from what I can tell as I dare to glance at body parts while I bathe. Scary? I'll say! Scares me, when I dare to look at myself unswathed and roly poly with folds of skin. What a lot of skin! Scary to think of seeing all that skin hanging empty - someday. I better get busy massaging and encouraging my aging body to do what it can to absorb tissue and to do away with cells that are not needed as I shed pounds. Sigh.

Here's to your courage in collecting data, the pix that you will someday show to PROVE that you were once fat. I can hardly wait for that day myself, as I need to whip out some old I.D. photos and relics of a life lived at 400+. Agh!

I exfoliate and use the mary kay body toning stuff It really could be worse...but I'd really like a flat tummy someday.

I need to win the lottery. 100k would do me.

Well, I'm getting better at how I climb aboard my talking scale and steady myself within the 8second window before the scale decides to mutter ERROR at me as numbers flash too fast and I am not still enough to get a reading. It's funny, I'm sure, to see me waiting for the scale, that commands WAIT when first it is tapped awake. I gave in and weighed at midnight Monday - after fighting the urge all day to see if my plan to hide out from E.Bunny was paying off as I hoped it would. Just stayed in my room, in my bed, and did not spend time in the dining/kitchen area where so often there are sweets and pastries and stuff I have no business hanging with.

Even just plain milk is too tempting for me, sometimes. I'm such an addict!

Payoff? 416.8 (down from Saturday's 418.2) and I'm hopeful to see 415 or thereabouts on Wed's midweek peek - as I aim to get to next goal of 410#.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. I am almost sure that reducing weight on this hip will increase mobility, even if nothing stops the pain. Yay!

Zer... whenever I've had a planned cheat meal in the past, I've found that it's better for me to avoid loading up on the sugar. For some reason, when I load up on sugar, it seems harder to get that 2-3 pound weight gain off. When I eat a starchy meal, it seems easier to get the weight gain plus friends off.

I do also find it harder to stomach a big carby, fatty meal. I definitely can't eat like I used to! It's a good thing, I know... but when I've been given permission from my trainer to eat-eat-eat I want to finish my indulgent meal!

I'm thinking that my cheat tomorrow will be a house calzone at a restaurant down here called Mellow Mushroom. It's stuffed with cheese, tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms. So, as far as calzone choices go, it's sort of healthy. See? Even when I'm trying to be bad, I still end up being a little good.
mellow mushroom! mmm we have one in knoxville, love there pizza!

amm-- It's not a cheat meal. Cheating implies that omigod! You're doing something very wrong! This is a lifestyle, not a wagon we jump on anfd off of. I always have a calzone (surprise!) every so often as my choice, and you know what? It hasn't hurt me one bit! You exercise, so you're going to be fine. You've come a long way, so you're not going to make one meal into twenty. And definitely stay away from the sugar. The calzone never made me ill, but the time I followed with dessert I was miserable.

Go for it! Have fun! Then hop on the treadmill afterwards on an incline and go for broke.

Good morning, you peachies! I hope you're having a great day so far!
yay on the 7 pounds your rockin!

deb your beautiful! and I love your hair, try to learn to love yourself at whatever stage you are and just know your doing things to better yourself!!

hi to everyone else I missed too and happy late birthday laura! Im bad bad for skimming lately. I think I find myself shying away when I feel like I am not doing as well. Im scared of the scale. I had my birthday weekend where I was very bad...and I swore wasnt going to go off plan at easter but that resolve lasted till I walked in mamaws door and smelled the food. I know her meals will be a memory some day and I just couldnt pass it by. I am back on plan but feel like I need to get stricter again and maybe do induction for a bit. Im also suffering for lack of planning this week, I do much better when I plan out my meals in advance. I will try to keep up more with you all this week, it helps keep me accountable and motivated. Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Thanks, DIY, for seeing the similarity in our crossing over, even though you are 100# ahead of me. I appreciate the support given by people who did not have to get so fat before they got smart about LC eating. It's so dear to be taken as part of a group of people of all sizes who are focused on supporting anyone of any size who is trying to get sane about eating. Thank you ALL!

With the support from LCFriends, I feel as if I am definitely leaving behind me the 400s and 500s and will someday bid adieu also to the 300s - as you and so many other are doing right now. I'm following your example, keeping my eyes on you, ahead of me on the same path. Such a powerful energy in this group of good-hearted people. Thank you for helping me to find myself in the midst of all this wobbly flesh that I've been hiding in for so many years, for decades! So what if I am 64 and not a kid anymore. So what? I can still benefit from improved health as I pare away the weight and find myself!

Good work! How hard is it to do 8oz an hour? Don't drown yourself. Just slurp 8oz an hour and you'll reach your goal and will hydrate your organs and enable efficient metabolism. All of that is just BOUND to show up as better waste disposal, better health. Go for it! glug glug

Water

Ninja - it gets easier, it really does. There are formulas out there for how much your should drink. Half your weight in ounces, or 8 x 8 oz glasses + an extra 8 ounce glass for each 10 or 25 pounds you want to lose depending on where you read it. But don't figure it out right away. It's overwhelming, and will take a while to get there.

Start w/ the 8 x 8 ounce glasses - that's 64 ounces. Even people NOT trying to lose weight are supposed to drink that much. You will be making yourself do it at first, and you will be running to the bathroom all the time. Again, just at first. Both will get easier, until you start to feel dehydrated when you don't drink enough, and you're not running to pee as often.
