Lately VCO is my major fat as I struggle to reach 75% fat, 20% protein, 5% vegie carbs for Atkins' ratio - and I check it out at FitDay to see if I'm on target. Love FitDay's pie chart - and the reassurance that all this VCO is really okay, that I'm close to 75% in my fat consumption. Mostly I use a couple of spoonfuls of VCO in my morning hot slosh - 40g of protein/WPP.

Well today is technically suppose to be my off day...

but

Seeing that I didn't do anything wednesday this week I should jog this afternoon and burn off the 1/4th of a biscuit with sausage gravy I got into this morning.

I was 190.2 this morning. I must be good the rest of the day. I think if I go jog it off I'll burn off the evil calories and maybe still be able to lose te 3 lbs before april 3rd.

Interestingly enough I ate more carbs than fat yesterday....

40 carbs but only 33 grams of fat. 100 grams of protein though.

I went a bit overboard on the strawberries. Only 900ish calories for the day though.

36 'net carbs' with the fiber taken out. That's better I suppose.

Oh well I generally don't do as well on weekends as I do during the week. I was going to copy/paste my meal stuff in here but alas it looks like crap. It's html and doesn't copy in right. Ah well.

Laura!

And Happy Easter to everyone else!

I have not done well at all Friday and yesterday. First time that I've really ate "WAY" off plan. Back on plan today and I'm hoping (crossing fingers) that it doesn't set me back too far.

Congrats Des on the size 12! That must feel awesome!

I am so excited, guys!

I just have to spill this to you. I have perfected my cheesecake recipe, and it's the lowest in carbs I've seen yet per serving in any low-carb cheesecake recipe!

It is induction friendly, and is cooling right now! I will have the recipe and pictures later. I am so jazzed about this! Cheesecake is one of my favorite.foods.ever.

Valerie-- I've seriously found that through watching water intake for the next day (read not drinking much) and exercise, I haven't suffered due to an indulgence meal. I have found that when I drink a lot after high sodium, I gain more than when I drink less. (Anecdotal, and I'm not a doctor, yadda yadda).

SeaBuckThorn (fruit/seed) Oil for Roseacea?

Just been browsing a site recommended for folks with blotchy red spots, veins and other stuff that seems problematical on my face - eyebrows, nose, cheeks. Guess I've been dealing with roseacea. Clueless, as I tried one thing and other things and suffered the pain and shame of perpetual splotchy face/nose. Why?

Well, that's past. Now I know that sea buckthorn is a cure for all that. Sigh.

I'm reading up on it now at SeaBuckThorn.com so I understand how it works.

Wonderful to think that I might be able to get rid of red veins around my nose, as well as (maybe) avoid some painful swellings in nostrils. I thought boils? Turns out it's maybe 'just roseacea' and something I can doctor myself. Sigh.

I learn something new all the time at LCFriends. More than nutrition. Yay!

I hope that someday is the beginning of next year though.
I find that the walmart pants are always a bit tricky for me, too. I have a pair of size 26 khaki pants that are huge, a size 24 pair of gray pants that are snug but fit. Then I have a pair of 26 jeans that fit well in the waist and the 24s in the same brand and style are snug. But I have a size 22 pair of jeans from another store that fit perfectly! So, I can never really be sure what size I'm in... it all depends on where I'm buying the pants.

Happy Easter everybody!

Happy Birthday Laura

Zer I went to that Seabuckthorn website but I couldn't see prices or how to buy it.

Cleo, I just KNEW you couldn't stay away from the food doctoring! hehe. Can't wait to see your recipe...I have a big block of cream cheese I bought from Costco and it doesn't taste the same as Philly (it's actually kinda yucky) so I was thinking the best use for it would be a cheesecake.

Well I had a carb blow out yesterday and I'm up 3.5 pounds today. It all started with one tiny 4 carb chocolate easter candy as I was putting together my husband's Easter basket.

My easter ham turned out well. I ate a lot of it so some of that 3.5 gain might just be the water weight I always put on after eating ham.

Tomorrow is the big day...back to school. I have to get organized today and get to sleep at a decent hour.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi Ladies!
Happy Birthday, Laura!!!!!!!!!!!

I am here - quietly sulking - since the Easter Bunny and I had a bit of a rendevous...
I've managed to slow down the eating, but don't imagine I will be low-carbing again until I fall asleep!!!!!! Well, these things happen, and I am not going to beat myself up about it. Between the prednisone, the stress of work, the stress of Easter dinner - wanna hear what I made today? A 17 pound turkey, gravy, stuffing, macaroni salad, deviled eggs, creamed corn, biscuits, baked beans, cherry pie... and for breakfast? Eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, and biscuits! Whew! I'm EXHAUSTED and way too FULL. I'll never be free from the clutches of carbs. I'm glad tomorrow is Monday and a work day - Its easier for me to get back on-track when I am at work.

I hope you all had a nice day - and a better day than mine!

Adding incline to the treadmill really helps up the calorie burning! The treadmills at my gym have a random setting that I like to use. I just enter in my weight, how long I want to exercise, pick a level (I've been doing level 7 lately but today I did it at 10), and speed (I usually start out at 3.3 for a few minutes, then up it to 3.5 for a while, then 3.7). I like it because it cycles through different incline levels to keep my body guessing, I guess. It makes things slightly more interesting... if that's even possible to do on the treadmill.

My trainer wants me to have a big cheat meal on Tuesday. I feel like I shouldn't, but my weight loss is bonkers right now and I even seem to be up a couple of pounds this week. I started drinking some protein shakes in the morning for breakfast... I don't think the protein powder is what is doing it... one scoop has 100 calories, 2g fat, 3g carbs. That's barely anything. But I've been blending it with 1 cup light soymilk and 2 strawberries. The soymilk never seemed to bother me before but maybe having it every day is too much for my system. I don't know what else it could be. That's why my trainer is convinced that it's time for a very carby meal since the last one I had was at Thanksgiving. I just hate gaining a few pounds, even though I know that they will drop off after a few days and take some friends with them.

For this carby jolt, can you hit hard with a few Cadbury eggs? Just curious if it can be a massive sugar 'hit' or has to be a big meal of carby stuff like pasta or starchy vegies like french fries or waffles with syrup. I'm thinking you probably don't have space for a really big meal by now, after how faithful you've been following a LC regimen. So glad you have a trainer!

Does your trainer give you some guidance on how to plan a carb loading meal?
