Hello everyone. Today's been really busy, so I've just been lurking and trying to stay on top of what's up with everyone here. Just wanted to check in!

Since the Caloric restriction thread is *cough* deader than a doornail, I guess i can post some progress here. I fell from 320.2 yesterday to 318.8

I cant help but to weigh every day!

My april 1 modest goal of 320 has been met hopefully to stay BEHIND ME FORVER!

If i can hit 310 by my anniversary ill be stoked. but my official, fail proof realistic goal is ten pounds for each full calendar month. But i like to dream.

Yay for YOU, DIYninja! You're 100# ahead of me, but I can see you and I'm coming along, right behind you, fast as I can! Just saw 420.8 on my midweek peek Wed morn and I'm hopeful that Saturday will show me 418 (or thereabouts). Keep on posting your progress here. I'll be watching, as your "buddy+100#" as we move downward, ounce by ounce!

I'm learning about the BLOG categories. How to set them up. Just started a new category to talk about how LCFriends has changed my viewpoint on moving my muscles (aka the excruciating "E" word). More at http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/bl...ng-e-word.html as I celebrate Jezzie's thread on backyard walking. Handy, thrifty, safe and private for the shy among us who are reluctant to step out on public walks.

Deb's 300+ thread is a VERY PERSONAL support thread. Thanks, Deb, for being so warm and welcoming that we feel quite at home here. You've changed my life! I'm finally really 'getting' what LC is all about. It's been a long haul!

from Cindy's Porch

Here's how it works...

1. Print out the "Children's Clean Room Challenge" for each child. You can choose either the PDF File or the GIF File. Cut up each of the squares.

2. Pop over the corner store and pick up some 5 and dime candy and some other rarely purchased treats. These are not "bribes" to clean up a room, they are "rewards" - a huge difference! I bought 12 five cent candies, one can of soda (because they will get thirsty), one small bag of chips, and one frozen ice treat (for when the room was done).

3. Let your kids choose some great music.

4. Open the windows in their bedroom to let in some fresh air (unless of course it is too cold outside).

5. Now get ready for some spring fling fun with the kids. Remember, they are doing most of the work, but you need to be available to help them out with some of the heavier stuff, the sorting stuff, and the cleaning supply stuff.

6. Start with the first card (#1). Once your child has finished a task, they get a reward (one candy, etc.). I never told my kids that there were candies until the first task was done - you should have seen them run to finish the next task LOL.

7. By about task 7 or 8, change the reward from a candy to a fresh drink. Your kids will be getting thirsty.

8. When all the tasks are done - please celebrate with your children. They have done a wonderful job. Treat them to some family fun - a trip to the park, a game of basketball at the school, a bike ride, whatever - it is up to you and your kids.

Congratulations Cleo!

Seriously!! I am impressed. You go at this so hard. Your intensity keeps reminding me that I need to do this better than half a$$ed. You seem to have fun doing it too, w/ the recipe inventions, and your blog. I WANT to be as good as you, but I clearly don't have as much fun doing it. That makes me jealous, all your hard work is rewarded, but it doesn't seem to be as much hard work for you.

Your enthusiasm is contagious though. Maybe if we all keep reading your blog it will be a full on epidemic!

Thank you, DIY! Laura and I have been talking about hitting the 299's for so long, I was excited just to hit it. I stepped on the scale a few times just to make sure (darned digital scale).

Doingthisagain-- 40 pounds since January 21 isn't half-hearted weight loss! You're doing tremendously!

I have made this fun and more exciting because the last time I did Atkins, I ate eggs every day and hated life. I decided this time that I am going to raise the roof and have a heck of a good time doing this. It's really made a difference. I am also a member of a local not-for-profit who weighs me weekly in a friendly setting. That is huge accountability right there. When you're beholden to a group of folks, your motivation suddenly skyrockets. You don't want to let them down, and you don't want to let yourself down, either. Plus, at my age, I need to get the weight off for my kids. They are worried about me. I lost my mom when I was 13 (car accident), and they're too young to lose theirs, and especially if that's in my control.

Thank you, HotTamale!

LOL deb-- I'll claim it, but I'm waiting for Laura so the real celebration can begin!

Hi to all!

You ladies are amazing. I can't help but feel uplifted reading about how yall are doing. Everyone is looking great. I have been feeling really crappy, because I have been eating crappy. (see the correlation???)

I'm thinking about doing a cleansing fast to get rid of all the garbage, then going back to clean eating. Last time I did the fast, I made it 4 days. My goal was 10, so I'm not anxious to start again, but anxious to feel better.

As far as getting private messaging active, mine wasn't active until I had been here 60 or90 days I think. It took quite awhile. It's a real pain.

I guess they werent kidding when they said it holds at least 400 pounds! The crunches are so much better on that than the exercise ball.

CONGRATS CLEO!!! And CONGRATS to all of you who are losing!!!

Today's Menu:
B- turkey sandwich on oopsies (4)
L- brie, pickles, Atkins shake (4)
S- coffee w/cream and splenda (3)
D- cobb salad w/grilled chicken (6)
TOTAL = 17 carbs / 8 glasses of water + (only had 1 so far... ugh!)
(walking to the park later... 1 mile)

Tomorrow is my 2 month Atkinsversary... and I think I will have only lost a couple of pounds this entire 2nd month! I'm still not eating lc tortillas, eating less cheese, not as many Atkins shakes, and I've just started to drink more water and watch my salt! What else can I do??? Any suggestions??? I also plan to re-do my measurements and hope to get some encouragement from that!? We'll see...
