Hi ladies!!! Just checking in!

WOW! I love the update pictures... and to hear how well everyone's doing!!!

Last night with YL went just as well (if not better) than last week! I'm hoping to start a "Campaigners" group with them (that's Young Life's term for small group Bible studies) and also hoping to go to camp with these girls in August! Such fun!

Oh... I also JUST realized that today's the day that my mini goal of not eating any low carb tortillas and eating way less cheese and Atkins shakes ends! I made it!!! I DO think that it seemed to help initially, but now I seem to be stalled again (I'm up a couple pounds, but I still FEEL like I'm shrinking), so who knows!? Either way, I don't really miss these things anymore, so I think I'll stick with it... although I might have a lc tortilla every now and then...

So, time to come up with a new mini goal... hmmm... stay tuned...

Today's Menu:
B- CO bark, turkey sandwich on Oopsies (5)
S- coffee (0)
L- chicken ceasar salad (5)
S- pepperoni w/brie (3)
D- fajita salad (6)
TOTAL = 19 carbs / 2 liters of water (I need to work on drinking MORE!)
(walked 3.5 miles at the gym!)

Cleo, looking good! And such a happy smile on your face.

Wow at 350 where you started I was wearing a tight 5X. And at 328 I'm still wearing 5X but I can tell they are looser. Goes to show you what a difference exercise makes. Your BMI must be such a better ratio than mine. But does that motivate me to stop being lazy and exercise? Nope.

Heather, glad your youth group is going great. Your menu looks yummy and good job on the walking!

Well, crap! It didn't occur to me that the men's sizes are different from women's.

I've gone from a men's 4X to a men's 2x. I have no clue how that metes out. I assumed all were the same, generally. Maybe not.

I love seeing all of your progress pictures! Yahoo! Watch you shrink!!!

Our gnome

It's a long explanation, but Mona there you go. That's our gnome taking an outdoor shower in the BVIs this past New Year's. We had tons of other pictures, but in that one you can see the incredible color of the water.

*YAY!!** Mona and cleo-the pics are WONDERFUL!!! Cleo, I wondered about men's versus women's sizes too because I can fit in a men's XL t-shirt but wouldn't dare to even attempt to squeeze into a women's XL right now. Same with sweatclothes. I can wear a men's XL sweat pants and sweat shirt with hood. Doubt I could sqeeze myself into the same with women's. In any event, CONGRATS!! WOOHOO! and KUTGW!

WAY to Go Heather!

I will have to see if I can find someone to take a new pic of me... Maybe after my birthday on Sunday so I can say this is how a I look at 41... Maybe all dressed up with makeup and such too..then again..maybe not *L* We'll see what the weekend and Monday hold especially since it will probably be my parents that I ask to take the pic.

a .4 pound loss this morning. it doesn't sound like much but anything lower im good with. If i put on .4 pounds a day i would gain 146 pounds in a year. When i put it that way.. im pretty darn STOKED!

i also started a blog at blogspot.. thinking about putting it in a siggy here.

goals

I'm changing my goal weight. The first time my goal was 135. This time I made it higher, to make it more reasonable. I just researched BMI info to find out what would be healthy. Then I took a number in the middle of that range. If, once I’m there, I gain weight over the holidays or something; I’ll have time to correct it before it goes into an unhealthy range. The new goal is 140.

It’s daunting. I’ve never once made a goal I’ve set in terms of weight, pretty much otherwise too. Probably, I aim to high; or too low in this case. But I didn’t just pull a number out of the air! Health wise, it’s important health wise to make this goal. It’s not just a matter of pushing myself.

Even w/ what I’ve lost to date, the BMI has number changed, but I’m still obese. By a long shot! I had to dig really deep to find a chart that separated out categories of obese. I’ve just barely dropped from “super obese” down to “morbidly obese.” Great, so now I’m killing myself.

How do I make this the first thing I’ve ever really accomplished? I have no idea! For right now, I’m just working on it. It can’t be done over night. As long as I’m headed in the right direction; I’ll think about it, and see what I come up with. This kind of thing is exactly what this forum is for! If I posted this somewhere, for people w/ 20 lbs to lose, there’s no way they’d get it!

Sorry for the downer of a post. There hasn’t been a whoosh yet. There might have been that first week. Everyone has a great first week, but I was too heavy for my scale then. Since the scale started working, it’s been like a half a pound or a pound at best. When it’s actually changed, and when that change is downward. I had a really good class last night, ate really well yesterday, drank a ton of water (8ish liters), and ran to the bathroom a lot! I was so sure I’d see something good this morning. TOM does interfere, but for me that’s probably just going to be status quo while I do this.

Offer

On a more up note, I've also meant to offer up the new scale that I ordered when I was too heavy for my old one. By the time it arrived, my old one worked again.

I meant to return it, then I missed the deadline for that. Then I thought of offering it up here, so someone could avoid buying one. Then I had to wait b/c I haven't posted enough to exchange messages for an adresses to send it to. I've been trying to post more to get there, someone said it was 50 posts. Then I ended up posting novels at a time and tried to cut back.

So if someone wants it, I guess reply here, and I'll post as many quick notes as it takes to enable the messaging function. And if anyone knows for sure how many posts it takes to enable messaging that would be great too.

Thanks!

On the left side, when you're in the User Control Panel, there's an "Edit Options" button. Make sure, under the Private Message heading, that you check off "private messages enabled" (or something like that lol).

Thanks Hippie!

I checked, all my settings should be right now.

So I guess if you want me to send you my scale Message me. If I don't respond it will probably b/c I still have something screwed up. So post again here to let me know that you tried and we'll figure it out from there.

Thanks!

Midweek peek - worth scrambling to get on the scales!

Almost did not take a midweek peek at my scales. Decided at noon to do it, as purely data collection, although I'm feeling massive and bulky. Good grief! I'm several pounds lighter than I was a few days ago. See signature for details. Can't feel it in my body, but scales report it - and I am encouraged. Golly, these talking scales are worth their weight in gold, now that I'm not afraid of what scales say.

Someone came in while I was weighing and I offered her the scales, which reported her at just under my goal weight. Something to look forward to hearing for myself, someday, when I step on these scales!

Love the progress pics! So much change

I had a detour. I gave in to stress eating yesterday which mean chocolate chip cookies and we had pizza and garlic fingers for our family fun night. Aggghh!! I paid the piper as I spent lots of time in the bathroom (I have IBS and these trigger me). Plus I got all bloaty and icky feeling. I went right back on track today. It wasn't worth it. I will try to be more prepared next time I have pizza cravings. I usually have LC pizza in the freezer, but was all out. I need to figure out a way to make LC chocolate chip cookies without having to order sugar free chips (I can't find any here and I cannot afford to order any as our income has been reduced and we were already way below the poverty limit to start out with; hate being poor!!!). I think I am going to try to concoct my own c-chips somehow.

Anyway, that's me. I don't believe in having food off limits forever with great moderation but if they make you feel horrible and sick, they should be avoided . I guess I didn't realize how much better my IBS was until I had something set it off.
