Restart and Introduction :)
There has only been one thing that has ever worked for me in the area of weight loss, and today, I'm back taking the plunge.
The first time I gave Atkins eating plan a serious attempt, I lost 45lbs in about four months and felt great, sadly, in the back of my mind I always considered it a -diet- I never thought of it as I should, a way of eating and a life plan for me. I'm one of these people that simply can not touch refined carbs, rice, pasta, bread, pastry pies, the moment I think, I can handle just a wee bit of pasta, I've lost the battle. I'm not even one of these people that can make 'mock' pasta or mash, its simply too much like an alcholic drinking near beer. Nope! Right off the wagon I will go. Two years ago, I went out to 'celebrate' my 45lbs, and rather than looking ahead to what good things were to come if I remained on plan, I 'treated' myself to ....-tries to remember- wow.. that must have been some treat. I dont even remember what it was now. Whatever it was it ditched me and I could not for love nor money ( both were on offer ) get myself back on track and follow through where I dropped the ball. So this go around, I'm keeping it simple. Lean Chicken, Turkey, fish and some beef (beef for special celebrations) no processed meats at all. Fresh vegetables and greens (I love greens) My basic rule of eating at this point will be one cooked main dish and one raw side dish. If I have two poached eggs in the morning, I want to have a raw small salad as well. Grilled tuna steak for dinner, matched with a raw rocket salad with lemon and olive oil dressing. Anyway, I've rambled a bit maybe time for a small introduction before I forget.my name is Barbie (Babs, Barbara whatever) I'm 37 this year and currently living Bracknell, United Kingdom. My current goal weight is set at 200lbs. My mini goal for now, is 225 by June 08 (88lbs), when our family plan on relocating back home to Missouri. Will be a change for my British husband I'm sure. I'm not in a rush this time, I'v not set my final goal yet, as I have pleanty of time to see where life takes me in the meantime. I hope your morning is filled with success and happiness and I look forward to holding out my hand should any need a friend |
