I feel EXACTLY that same way. "My fat is porportioned" I also am tall so it "doesn't show as much on me"

Awwww thanks Linda and Tracy. It is kind of hard to put yourself out there like that but I felt that what I went through others are since it is a common thing with people with weight issues.

Cheri, you have no idea how much your story touches the rest of us. It could be any of us writing it.........all i have to say is Thank God your 9 yr (who i imagine is pretty close to being a teen now...) couldn't sleep. You continue to be an inspiration to me and when I start feeling low because I am stuck in a stall or my weight is just evening out I will stop to consider those words and continue walking forward. God made something special when he made you. THank you for being here and thank you for being a part of my journey as well.

I realize your first (and very inspiring) post on this thread was years ago. I AM where you WERE. But am a lot older than you and feel 'rushed' to be healthy before it's too late. I now have 3 beautiful grandbabies to be healthy for. Everybody says that you need to do it for yourself, but I say that it doesn't hurt to have something to live for besides one's self. I want to live and be healthy for them. Not just exist.

The trance of that enticing escape was broken by the sleepy footsteps of my 9-year-old son, who wandered into the room looking for his mother. "Mommy, will you lay down with me? I can't sleep!" I realized right then that I could never think of what I had been thinking, ever again!

I love this quote not only because I completely agree that my son is what keeps me going, but also I hope that when my son is 9 he still comes looking for Mommy to help him sleep (he's only 4 now).

Thanks for sharing your beautiful story with us. I notice in the before/after photos of you, I want to make one comment and I mean it constructively with a lot of respect and it can apply to anybody that loses a lot of weight. I notice in the after photo, you appear to be in some type of sweatshirt..when the photo was taken. While these type clothes are so comfortable, they still don't let people know you are thin..I know a lady at church that has lost 75 lbs. with WW and she still buys the same size she did when we was obese. She can't make herself buy her real size. I am sure there are some emotional feelings behind her reasoning but be sure to dress your new size, so people and yourself can see "the new you!" People notice in well fitting clothes and you will start to earn all those great compliments. You are quite an inspiration and I hope that I can get my husband talked into joining me on this journey. I'm sure both of us would be happier people. I need to shed 80 and he needs to shed about 30. We need to get on with it!

Your story is wonderful! I am teary eyed and I hope to some day have my own success story. I am just starting and I am a bit concerned about if my medications for my arthritis are going to make it more difficult for me to lose. All I can do is my best, I suppose and of course, I'll be hoping to be like you.

Hi Cheri you are an inspiration to me and others. I am so happy that I got to know you you are an amazing person. I have struggled the same battle for the last 15 to 20 years and am sick of it. I have to get healthy I am 44 and feel 74 or 84 sometimes. I have no energy, low self esteem and I have to stop this for good. I thank God for people like you that have not forgotten your struggle and have love and comassion for others that are going through the same problems. I hope to get to know you better and better I already consider you a really good friend and feel like Ive known you a lot longer then I have. I think its due to your big heart. I've been "sorta" doing LC for the last year, but I'd repeatedly fall off the wagon, and then use the justification "well one more bad meal won't hurt me - TOMORROW I'll go back on induction" and do the same thing day after day. I've bookmarked this thread, and every time I start feeling like I want to cheat I'm going to re-read it - because its proof that if I stick to it, I CAN get this weight off and be healthy!
