Our grocery bill is lower then ever! And we never ate that badly before either so that is saying something.

Buy LARGE amounts of meat that are on sale or are 40% off because they are close to expiry. Portion out the meat and freeze them. Very convenient. I tend to put just enough meat for one meal in each bag because I find I often waste meat when it's leftover.

Stock up on cheese and nuts and anything else you eat a lot of when it's on sale. I'm talking spend $50 on cheese if that's what you can afford. It will last you months and months and save you lots of money.

I find since my fridge is pretty bare we waste nothing compared to before. All veggies that are bought WILL be used. It's great.

I use coupons, buy sale items, manager's special meats (when they look decent), and the 2.5 dozen egg cartons. I also download digital coupons to my shopper's card. For HBAs, I also use coupons, and stock up when things are on sale.
