New month! Time to review my rules! (and make some new ones!)

1. Keep carbs at or below 30g per day.
2. Keep calories between 1600-1800 per day.
3. Track food daily.
4. Measure foods properly, before cooking.
5. Exercise as much as possible. ** (See below)
6. Restrict Splenda (& artificial sweeteners in general) to 2 servings a day.
7. Restrict caffeine to one serving per day.
8. Restrict Maltitol (& sugar alcohols in general) to 1 serving per WEEK.
9. Allow fruit (within carb limit) once every 2 weeks.
10.Be POSITIVE. 10lbs is coming off, for sure!

** I have a new little trick I am going to try regarding exercise. I absolutely always exercise when I am wearing my work out clothes. My new rule is that, as soon as I get home from work, I immediately change into my work out clothes. I will leave them out and ready every day. When I am wearing my work out clothes, I will make everything into a work out, I will jog up and down the stairs, I will do lunges while washing dishes. Seriously, it's ridiculous, but it works. So, I'll use it to my advantage.
This also makes me do two other things I really need to do -
1. Buy some new work out clothes (& socks!)
2. Keep up with my gosh darn laundry!

this December I plan to actually lose some weight by:

Staying LC and keeping the calories in the 1,500 range.

I just logged in all my foods for the day (including my impending dinner + dessert!)
And I'm at 1,000 calories and 14g of carbs.
So, I don't think I'm going to get to 1600-1800 per day! I think I'll go more for 1200-1400! :-)

I'd be happy to lose SOMETHING though. A pound maybe? Oh, just an ounce will do me!
sooooomething!

Chai,
Thanks for the new thread! December goal:

Figure out what I need to do to get back on track! I had a terrible weekend eating wise. I don't binge, I eat the wrong foods. I was pretty good Thanksgiving, but had a pc of pumpkin pie Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I also ate the crust on pizza and had a fried egg sandwich. SLAP!!

GG,
Holy Baboly, you are doing so well. Congrats to you!

Chai,
I do agree that calories are important, but like I said before, I lost 70 lbs 5 years ago, by sticking to atkins friendly foods, never counted a calorie, never exercised, and by drinking 100 oz of water each day. I didn't make low carb treats or recipes until I hit 50 lbs, then I kept stalling. The good ole meat, fish, cheese and lots of veggies mixed with water is the defining result to making this work. Now, if I could do what I did before???

I hope you all enjoyed your Holiday weekend. We received 5 inches of snow overnight, very Christmasy out there. My tree is up and decorated, the outside is done, working on the inside tonight. Have a nice night all.

Cindy

Hello all. Glad you're doing well.

No goals today. My spirits are dampened. Luckily I have to attend one more lecture with this man and take the final next final and I'll be done.with.him.

I don't like having a bully for an instructor.

I'll check in on you soon.

Yesterday :

Calories : 1,481

Carbs : 47
Fiber : 19
(Net Carbs : 28)

Splenda : 2 packets in AM, 1/3 of a Diet Coke @ lunch
Caffeine : 1 coffee in AM
Cups of water : 7
Exercise : 50 minutes

Thoughts :

I got home from work and immediately wanted to EAT. I couldn't resist the urge, so I ate some broccoli slaw, which was supposed to go with my dinner. And then I made brussel sprouts to go with dinner instead. Ended up fine for calories and carbs, but it's still frustrating to feel that urge to binge, and then to give in to it is SO aggravating. I think I did well though, only eating 5oz of broccoli slaw, instead of the fifty other things I could have eaten.

I wrote down my new commandments (as posted yesterday), and I stuck them to the fridge. Reminders are good!

I stayed LC yesterday but I overindulged on nuts and cheese. These two foods have to disappear from my diet if I'm to lose weight this month. I gave the rest of the nuts to my doggies and cheese as well. I do still have some unopened so I'll keep it out of sight and not listen to that nightime voice that says it knows where the cheese is. I need to be good to me again instead of that food beast forager!

Hi SlimD! This will be a happy December indeed. We can make it so.

Chailatte'...you did real good yesterday. Like you said you didn't eat the 50 other things!

sunshine Cindy...Hey pizza crust tastes good. If I even got near to a pizza I'd eat the crust. Every day is a new opportunity. This is why I never give up for long.

GG...thanks for the good morning. I am well as I hope you are too! Hey you're still a young lady even after you hit the big 40,,just so you know. whatever weight you are by then..just enjoy the fact that you've made yourself healthier.

JennB..Best wishes to make it throuh this term. One term at a time, eh? Then some vacation I hope.

Ya know ladies it's the funniest thing but I haven't lost weight in three months yet my legs seem slimmer now. I guess that's a good thing.

So far it is looking like something with my left ovary. She worked me in for an ultrasound tonight. I will let you know.

Thank you. I had an ultrasound last night. Haven't heard from her yet today. Trying to not sit too much and it seems to keep me in minimal pain. I am sure if it was bad news she would have called first thing this morning. So really no news yet.

Glad you are all doing well and bebopping along. Congrats Meg on giving that pound the slip.

Docs office just called. They are calling in a pain med for me and if symptoms persist we will do a CAT scan. Preliminary ultrasound results look fine but waiting on the official result from the Radiologist. So yeah, we don't know what's going on. Grrrrrr!

Sunshine and Peachy!!!

I wish I could say I'm on the wagon... but not so much. I fell victim to the call of Cafeteria Style Cheeseburger... and everyone got a good laugh at me while I was describing to them how wonderful it was!

I made a promise to myself that I'll at least TRY to be good tomorrow. But I find little incentive to be good when I am required to ingest

19g Probiotic Yogurt
11g Fiber One Cereal
11g Fiber One Cereal

so that's 41g per day with no veggies...

Maybe I'll just aim to be under 50g and see if that will still allow me to lose weight.

I feel naughty just THINKING about eating that many grams of carbs per day.

Off to study! Have a good night!

Ugh, Jenn. that stinks! But under 50 is still low-carb, so if anything, it should help you to not gain anything... right? :-/ Hang in there. I hope you start to feel better soon!

I had another good day. Yet to have dinner, but I'm on track just fine.
Hoping to get in some pilates tonight, I got a new pilates DVD from netflix, so we shall see! I am super sore from my work out last night! oof!

Ya know... just a random thought...

but recently I have seriously come to terms with the fact that I love the way I look. All 260 lbs of me. And for some reason I've started styling my hair and wearing make up and just feeling super cute.

And then I find the names of two surgeons in Houston who will fight insurance companies to get their clients approved for bariatric surgery. I'm going to try to get in for a consultation over the holidays with them.

I'm happy (outside of my Microbiology class and all this mystery pain).

Dunno, I just saw my picture as my avatar and I remember the last time I really smiled like that for a picture, I was 55lbs lighter than I am right now.

At least I found my secret for Post Secrets!

Chai - Today was a much better day than yesterday, but I've also gone out of my way to stand most of the day. But when I got home I had to sit to study. Toradol or not, I'm feeling discomfort... but it's discomfort and not pain so I won't complain.

I just want an answer as to what my innards are doing. I mean, I wasn't happy with ruptured ovarian cyst or twisted ovary but they both beat kidney stones, right? The lesser of two evils. And since it doesn't look like I have either than I'm just in a waiting phase. And of course it'll probably come back to a camera up my butt and I'd rather have a hysterectomy.

Meh, it would probably bother people that I'm okay with my girlie parts getting replaced with fakes. But really, truly, I had a breast lump like 2 years ago and I flipped out, hard core, not only because of the thought of it being malignant, but the fact that my woman-ness had betrayed me. I had 30 days of deep deep thought before my "follow up" (and then 3 days after that for the ultrasound) and I realized that I don't like my boobs all that much. They don't have a real shape besides man boob shape and I'd much rather have fake ta ta's anyways. I realized I am actually, truly 100% okay with having these girls removed and some fake ones dropped in.

As for the uterus and it's little appendages? I requested a hysterectomy five years ago. I have zero intention of getting pregant, carrying a child to term (which I question I could do safely) and raising said infant. I am all for adoption. I was told I am too young for a hysterectomy and referred to a few very good birth control options.

So really, take that bad boy out. Especially if it's causing me all this grief. It's like the general view of the appendix and tonsils... you may have been useful at some point in time but it's been so long we've all forgotten what it is and we'd be better of without you.

Okay, I'm done. Off to study more, sleep, study, get my notes loaded on my phone, go to school, test, NOT EAT PROCESSED CARBY FOOD!!!, study in the library (unless I can't get the notes rockin, then I'll come home and study).
