Peachy - rattle! please! We are here for you!!!
I've been off the wagon too. Trying to drown my sorrows in carbs. My call to reality came Friday at 4:30 when I was drowning myself, mindlessly, in a tub of Ben and Jerry's Phish Food... and the vet called to tell me her ashes were ready... I picked them up and tried to further drown my sorrows. About 2:30 Saturday I realized it wasn't working. I've been on the wagon since then. For simplicity, I'll call today Day 1. I'm going to eat LC, induction, and to BMR. DH yelled at me yesterday morning (Thank you Baby!) for eating a bagel for breakfast. I think it really helped with me getting my mind back on healthy. And hey, maybe this break will be what I need to break through this reedicyoulussssssss plateua. I've noticed since I've been off plan I've been having trouble getting motivated, not just to eat properly but to do things I've been on top of for months... keeping the house clean, STUDYING!!!!, etc etc etc. And not to mention I've gone off my antidepressants... I have GOT to get this under control. Goals for the rest of September... 1. Water... seriously... 4-5 bottles minimum daily 2. Eat LC... allow a minor cheat after I finish my two weeks 3. Dust off the elliptical and USE it... 20 minutes daily minimum... like I've been threatening 4. Try to post daily... I'll try!!!

Hi Ladies ~~
Yah, Its been awhile. I've been doing great since the 1st. I'm down 5 1/2 lbs and have been doing in a min of 20 mins on the treadmill EVERYDAY( that alone is a miracle in itself ) ![]() I'm still struggling with temptation and have to force myself to drink down the water. I am feeling so good right now. Just going through some of the l/c recipes to try next week. Jenn- We went to my grandmothers for dinner last friday. She made baked chicken w/homemade stuffing (that i love and can never get enough of) which i did allow a few bites but when she asked if i wanted to take the rest home, i had to decline -it would be gone by midnight. She also made a lemon pie - I kept away while my son had 2 slices. ((piggy)) lol. The whole time my dh and kids kept says "KEEP AWAY FROM THE STUFFING", LOL.It's getting late and I still have some cleaning to do and get things ready for work tomorrow. I want to knock out a bit earlier today than usual since I have to go in to work earlier, I want to make sure I get my walking in. |

Hi Groovy! Welcome back!!! Congrats staying away from the dressing... one of my weaknesses... and one of the few things I'd consider making a fake of. NOM NOM NOM!
I got on the scale today. I've got about 10 lbs of water weight holding me down. A few days ago my weight was 8 pounds lighter so I sincerely doubt it's all fat. I am working on the water and resisting the Marble Slab Ice Cream I have sitting, going to waste, in the freezer. ![]() |

Happy end to the weekend all.
Well last night was it for me. I had a margarita party with mexican snacks (sounded fun for us girls) and I too have determined that eating carbs cuts my energy level way back. Today, I have eaten clean but am very hungry as I always am after the heavy cheat days. Let's all try to eat clean all week, help each other, maybe posts menus etc. I need a clean week to get me 100% back on. Today: B-3 scrambled eggs L-2 grilled hot dogs, cottage cheese S-2 stalks celery with cream cheese D-hamb patty w/grilled onions and grilled zuchinni (very good), but an hour later I had to grab a leftover hot dog. Water, 4 16.9 oz bottles, need to spiffy this up! Have a great week all! Welcome back you gals who made us so LONELY! Actually, glad you are all here. Where are the rest. FF, are you ok? Jennifer? I was a good girl yesterday... I didn't count my calories but I came REALLY close to my BMR (I think I'm under by 12 calories) so here's what I had.
Breakfast: 2 coffee with 2 tbls heavy cream each B Snack: Chicken breast with ranch Lunch: 1/2 keilbasa with mustard, 1/2 bag green breans Dinner: 2 chicken breasts Today is a school day so I'm not sure how it'll play out. If I am a smart girl, I'll take some snackies with me... I'll definitely eat LC, Induction Friendly... Oh and the good news, I checked the scale again this morning... didn't gain 10 lbs of water weight... more like 4 or 5. I'm much happier with that. Gotta put my comforter in the dryer (Puck puked on it last night... poor guy had boo boo belly or something...) |

Me too Jenn, good day yesterday and so far today. I need to get 100% back in, so that I quit feeling so sluggish. I could go to sleep right now in the middle of a busy Monday at work, bammm, right on my keyboard. Low carbing keeps me going, not the overloads, then getting back into ketosis and feeling like crappola along the ride. Igggghhhh!
How is everyone else? Today's menu: B-5 pcs bacon S-handful peanuts L-chef salad with hb eggs and no dressing S-handful peanuts (forgot my veggies) D-making hubs chicken and dumplings, so I will have chicken and cottage cheese and maybe a small amt of veggies. Have a nice week all. Cindy |

I ate LC today but I didn't come even remotely close to getting my calories in. Under 1000!!! Ugh.
So I had: 2 cups coffee with 2 tbls cream each Burrito Bowl from Zoca (shredded pork, lettuce, black beans, pico de gallo and shredded cheese... NOM NOM NOM!!!) 1/4 of a kielbasa with mustard My stomach is all achey right now and I think it's b/c I met a dog today and I'm really really torn about adopting her. I'm not sure that she's the right one, but I want to adopt her to keep her from being euthanized. And Chai, you'd kill me, she's a Corgi mix. ![]() Take care all and I'll see ya tomorrow!!! |

Groovy - sounds like a good start. I (for some strange reason!?!) have not started on the elliptical yet. It'll happen. Eventually.

Awww, I'll have to check out your blog. I'm sure I'll do it before bed since that seems to be when I get really really weepy.
As for my options, I'm still exploring. Not sure I'm ready to commit... it is a HUGE deal b/c the dog will be with me for life... and after I had to have Dizzy put down (she tried to kill 2 of my dogs... repeatedly) I'm really leary about jumping right in. Baby, the corgi mix, is not due to be euthanized anytime soon so I don't feel too much pressure to get her. Good b/c pressure is a bad thing right now. I did find a little guy that I would take, in a heart beat. He was left for dead of starvation and neglect, in the middle of the road. They've gotten some weight on him and treated him for mange. I called about him last night. He's about 8 years old (shih tzu mix) and really doesn't care for other dogs. If I had room for a senior I'd drive to LA and pick his little tooshy up!!! But I need a friend for Puck, someone that will play, and he wouldn't be happy here with Puck wanting to play all the time. But the lady I talked to runs a rescue/shelter and she'll keep her ears open for me. ![]() And I'll just keep exploring my options until I find that perfect somebody. Right now I'm looking at basset mix about an hour from here (if she's still available). The funny funny thing is, no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get away from black and white dogs. Chy was black and white. Her playmate when she was younger was black with a white patch on her chest. My cockers when I was growing up were black and white... I was looking at a picture of a sister in the litter and I saw the one I'm calling about and I think I heard bells... We'll see.As for WOE, doing quite well. hoping to eat enough calories today to make up for my gross undereating yesterday. We shall see!!! Chai - glad you found us. I was going to PM you to make sure you saw the new thread. ![]() |

Good Morning,
Well I have been good for two full days, hopefully today will bring the same. JennB, I don't count calories because while LCing, I know some of the meats and cheeses (and nuts) have to give me more than the minimum requirement. Is the minimum around 1100? How is every one doing so far this month. I'm up a couple pounds, but plan to lose that plus a couple more in the next week or so. I know this works, but only for me if I get my water in, so this week is water week. More than 100 oz in yesterday, but with it getting cool at night (down to 44 last night), I have to go potty at least 2-3 times during the night. That and I may be getting rid of water too. Hopefully. Today's menu is easy: Sausage links, HB egg, cheese, 2 Hot Dogs and broccoli w/ cheese sauce, ribeye steak and another broccoli w/cheese sauce. Have a nice day. Cindy |

Sunshine - I don't know what the minimum is for you. Because I'm still "young" (or so they tell me!!!) I need to eat at least 1864 calories a day. I think I've been stalling so badly b/c I was eating, on a normal day, under 1200 and my body went into starvation mode. It's true, you really shouldn't have to count calories while LCing but I've been finding a lot of nutrtionists (one was a rep of the Atkins Foundation or whatever it's called these days) that say even when doing LC you can go into starvation mode by undereating. My theory is this: I weigh 260 lbs. In no way shape or form is eating under 1200 a good thing for me... even if I'm trying to lose weight. If I weighed 105 or something like that, 1200 would probably be a good goal. Anyways, that's the basic jist of what I'm working at. HTH
I'm doing good today. Still have puppies on the brain. But I'm not in a rush (I swear!) so one promising lead I have is a very good local breeder will have a litter ready in Feb/March. It's a long time to wait, but it would be a guaranteed healthy puppy. She's helping me look around. Todays menu: 2 coffee with 2 tbls heavy cream each chicken burrito bowl dinner... what's what? I guess I'll put some stuffed chicken breasts in the oven... it's already 5... I'd better get going. Speaking of those, they are great little things if you have a Super Wal-Mart nearby (don't hate me! they're the cheapest in this area besides the scary grocery store and I can't afford to shop the expensive yet ghetto store anymore!!!) It's "Sams Club" (Wal-Mart) brand frozen chicken. They're 2 stuffed breasts to a package and they're raw. You preheat the oven to like 400, I throw them in a Pam'd glass pan and put it in the oven for 35 minutes (I think). They're SUPER good. I'll let you know which one is my favorite in a minute when I get it out of the deep freeze. ![]() |
Sunshine - I don't know what the minimum is for you. Because I'm still "young"
Ok JennB, are you saying I am old? ![]() I am.....hehe, I am 45, but a young 45. I did check and it is under 1100 calories in which my body would go into starvation mode, but while low-carbing I can eat more than my recommended amount in order to lose weight on say a low-fat diet which is 1600. My break even amount is 1850...I think, if I calculated correctly. One reason I do not count calories is because I know that some of my low-carb food choices are higher in calories, such as 5 farmland original sausage links which has 500 calories. I do believe that a lot of our stalls occur as a result of starvation modes though. Today's menu: B-5 sausage links S-1/2 cucumber w/cream cheese L-Salad from McD's, grilled bacon ranch, no dressing S-other 1/2 cucumber D-not sure yet 100 oz of water, yesterday I was 16 oz shy. Have a nice day everyone. Cindy |

Sunshine!!! You are NOT old!!! Crazy crazy woman!!!
![]() I've learned that for me not eating enough definitely counts. Have I eaten enough today? It's 2:45 pm and I've ingested: 2 cups coffee with 2 tbls heavy cream each and a peanut nougant atkins bar. I've got a couple of frozen stuffed chicken breasts about ready to go in the oven so roughly 800 calories plus whatever my atkins bar was worth. Still need to ingest another 1000 this evening... hahahah that is SO not happening. Now if I can get my hands on that superb sausage you've been eating I'd be set!!! ![]() |

JENNB,
I find it easier to focus when I watch what I eat. The more comfort foods or high carb foods I eat, the more tired and unfocused I feel. Low carbing helps me sleep better, focus better and boost my self esteem, so why can't I stay there? Must have deeper issues, but I am there today. Doing well this week. Last night while working out, I talked myself into not weighing until Oct 1st and committed to working out more and staying as low carb as I possibly can. Our Nov. Board anniversary date is nearing and to be honest with you, if I hit 52 lbs, which is an average of 1 lb each week, I will be so happy with myself. 52 isn't 100, but it's getting closer. In addition, I have 3 pairs of fall pants which are a tad snug 10-15 lbs will put them loose, and I want to wear them! Today's menu: B-sliced colby wrapped around turkey breast S-slice colby wrapped around turkey breast, love it. Next week I will make my mini taco with this and shredded lettuce and red onion. I buy the sliced small circular minihorn colby at the Walmart deli. L-salad with tunafish and veggies S-handful of peanuts D-not sure. Have a nice day. Cindy |

I'm not sure what the spirit was of this board when it was created, I came along way way way after that... but I think I've found some amazing ladies who are dedicated to losing weight... I think any weight lost over the last year is weight lost and hopefully never coming back. And that is an accomplishment.

So true JennB. Even if we only lose a pound over the course of the year, we will weigh less than when we started...something I never did over the years.

Hurricane Ike is making landfall in Galveston. If he stays on course the eye will go directly over my house maybe as a Cat 1 but I figure it'll be a Tropical Storm.
Will probably lose power... who knows for how long. Wish me luck that it isn't hot and humid and disgusting without my much beloved AC. I'll check in tomorrow if it's possible. Otherwise, whenever I can. ![]() Take care all!!! |

JennB,
I hope your home is ok, any news? What a nasty hurricane which gave us 3-4 inches of rain which is a lot for the WI/IL border area. Anyone else still alive? Did everyone give up? Come back all. Need the support. Have a good Monday. Cindy |

I sure hope nobody gave up! Giving up is not an option!
I'm still here! I had a great weekend.. my man and I decided to force some quality time upon ourselves :-) So, we went to the Zoo! and we went canoeing! and we had movie marathons. It was a really nice weekend! I'm eating fine. I'm struggling with motivation to exercise though. It goes through phases! |

Chai,
I know what you mean when our motivation goes on phases. I am motivated right now and worked out 3 times last week, and I am going tonight and hopefully end the week with 4 workouts. With fall about here, my motivation right now is linked to the 3 newer pants I have which are a size too small. Just one size, about 15 lbs. That and when I get my sweater crates out for sorting and washing, I want to be able to donate all of the 3Xs to goodwill and maybe buy just a couple 2xs for now. Another thing that has motivated me was last week when we had a change in weather, the office gals who wear shorts (we can wear anything as long as we don't have scheduled customers), couldn't wear pants because they couldn't pull them up. 6 out of 8 of us are overweight and boy does it feel good with my loose pants patienty waiting for their goodwill arrival. Glad you posted. I hope everyone comes back. Today's menu: B-5 sausage links S-1/2 cucumber L-Chili no beans S-1/2 cucumber D-hamb patty w/pesto sauce, green beans, dab of cottage cheese if needed. Doing better with water, but not close to where I should be. I am on my second bottle today, and with bringing 4 to work, I asked the girls to help me keep track. (keeps me on top of it) Have a nice day. Cindy |

Awesome job, Cindy! I hope some of your motivation rubs off on me! :-)
I have SO many things coming up that I want to be noticeably thinner for... so I need to just get my ass in gear! 'cause the only thing that is going to give me real, quick results... is exercise! |

Good Morning,
It appears I am going to have to go "looking" for our team members. It's sad the board has come down to nada. I guess that is what happens when one falls off the wagon, but I will stay, off the wagon or on, and as of today, I am on, way on top! Doing well right now with eating and exercising, but I need to double my water intake. You would think that would be the easiest of the three. Anway, the way I look at it is if you join a support board, be there for everyone else too, no matter if you are "eating clean" or not. Maybe I need to look for a more active board...I don't know. I miss our gal clan! Cindy |
