My Goals For August

1. I will lose 10lbs (OR 10 inches) by Sept 1. Hefty goal, I know. But worth a try.
2. Complete the 100 Push Up Challenge, Restart with real push ups in Sept.
3. Exercise no less than 3 times a week.
4. Continue to up my water intake and stick to it!
5. Stick to the Induction style meal plan.

So, there's mine! July was not a productive month. I lost, 3lbs, but all of which in the last week! haha. But, I did learn some lessons about my eating. And I am going to stick to the induction menus for awhile since it seems to be working.

Hi !!!

August Goals -

1) Lose 10 pounds in August -- I'm going to challenge myself.
2) Start walking Scruffy the amazing agility dog 30 minutes every morning.
3) Go to water aerobics with mom a couple times a week.
4) Buy WiiFit and join the LC WiiFit board --I've been wanting to do this.
5) Continue drinking 130 ounces of water -- I've been sticking to it so far.

Meg -- you'll lose the two pounds in no time !!

I weighed today and I'm down a total of 5 1/2 lbs. Sunday is my official weigh in day; so I'll know how I've done for the week. Plus, I know how much I weighed to start this month so I can push for 10 !

Everyone's goals are so realistic. My main focus right now is a whoosh. I just finished a menu for next week and if I can follow it to a T, and if I can get my water in, I will be back on strick induction and I am so looking forward to losing. We are going to a Labor Day party therefore I keep picturing my outfit which is currently toooo tight, and I focus. I focus on results which will make me feel like a better person, and a healthier one!

Have a nice weekend everyone.

Good evening Divas! Well, we are off to another month of losing. My scale is broken and drives me crazy... but maybe it is a good thing. No scale --- not gonna buy one, will have to find somewhere to weigh in once in a while.

Looks like everyone has set some great goals. You guys help me stay motivated. Thanks so much. Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies !!! It's after midnight but I'm awake.

I went to a surprise birthday party tonight knowing there was going to be a lot of junk food. I ate dinner before I left and drank two glasses of water so that I wouldn't even be tempted to cheat.

When I got there I saw the snack table and the cake and all the goodies. Smack dab in the middle of the table was a plate that had pepperoni, ham, and canadian bacon slices !!!!! There was also cheese cubes.

As the party progressed and we got into playing some games, I got snacky and I was so happy that the LC tray was there !!! I was assigned to bring drinks so I had no idea what was going to be available. That's why I made sure that I ate well before leaving home. Next time, I'll make sure I bring the LC tray !

Peachey...4 pounds is a good loss!

Marilyn..Yeah snacking at nite..I'm sure nobody here knows about that! ;-) I don't eat much heavy past 6 or 7...just some lite dessert like cottage chees/jello or yoghert or SF pudding, hard candies. Really I think what counts is how much total you eat in a 24 hour period...and this is exactly why I count calories and have a limit.

Stagemom..Good job stayin' on plan at party!

I'm on my track and got my water in yesterday. Stayin' strong this weekend. Have a good one!

Happy Saturday, peeps! :-) Hope all your weekends are fabulous!

I am hosting a BBQ today. It's nice hosting the party, and having all the control over the food! I should really stop weighing myself everyday, but man, what a habit! I lost 1 more lb! so fabulous. It seems I am finally in Ketosis. This definitely means that the 3 months I was low carbing before I was definitely not in Ketosis. I haven't found the hidden link yet, but who cares. :-) I'm happy!

It was NOT a good one! I won't go into details but.. in short... wasp attack, monsoon thunderstorm, and 4 barking dogs. it wasn't pretty.
But, my food was good!

We're still at the beach. DH's aunt & her family didn't come down this weekend as they usually do (we inherited the house together), so we decided to stay. Neighbor agreed to feed the kitteh for a few extra days.

Not 100% on plan but not bingeing. 8 times out of 10 I'm binging if I'm not on plan so that's a plus for me.

We'll be home tomorrow afternoon. Talk to y'all tomorrow night or Monday

Good morning !

7 pounds total loss for the first two weeks of induction ! When I LC'd five years ago, I lost 8 in one week. But I am happy to lose 7 lbs. It's not the speed, it's the end result I'm looking for !

Even though I use Sundays as my official weigh in day; my August 1st weight was 254.5 -- so I'm using that as my marker to see if I can lose 10 pounds for August. So I've lost 1.5 lbs on my way to my goal for 10 pounds by August 31st. 8.5 more to go for August !

Chai, hate the wasp attack and monster storms, but the food was worth it -- I would love BBQ's !

Jennifer, have fun at the beach !! I haven't been to a beach in a several years -- I have trouble tolerating the heat (and I have lived in Alabama for almost 30 years).

I took my little sister shopping with me last night so she could see how difficult it can be to LC when you don't read labels. She would pick up different meats (honey roasted ham, smoked sausages, etc.) that I love and say "how about this?" I would get her to read the label. I think the end story is that she now appreciate what we LC'ers do to count carbs. She now knows anything honey roasted is a no-no for me. We had a two or three minute discussion on carbs in bacon which surprised her until she realized it's how its prepared which can add the carbs.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday !! I've already started getting the water going. Miss Lindsay kitty is sitting on the arm of the couch trying to be mommy's girl right now !!

stagemom4josh: great job on the 7 lb loss. It seems to be a little slower the second time around (been there done that numerous times!!).

I joined this challenge wayyyyy back when and then got side-tracked and went off plan. I am back, I restarted 07/14/08 and have lost 7 lbs. I am determined to lose this weight, no matter how slow it comes off! I need to incorporate regular exercise, but for now trying to concentrate on eating right and drinking enough water.

August goal:
lose 10 lbs
drink 130 oz water daily
no eating after 8PM.

Happy Sunday Divas! -- Still no scale for me. I looked at some at Wal-Mart and decided to not spend the money.... will have to weigh somewhere else for a while. Maybe that is a good thing. I am one of those scale a holics too.... This is a good lesson for me. I say it is a lifestyle change, but do I really mean it when all I want to do is jump on the scale every day? Whatever, heading out in a bit -- hope you all have a fabulous Sunday. Congats on the losses! 'Black halter sundress at goal weight size for summer 2009' sounds like a plan. I am on board for that too! --- kinda looking forward to a nice outfit this holiday season too. Last year, I rang the new year in at 306 and this year I am gonna be in Onderland-- so no matter what I manage to lose between now and then, it is going to be a much different new year celebration.

I was all whiny yesterday about woe in general, and got a polite but very true reminder that my body may just but catching up for a bit with all the weight I have lost, and a request for me to please quit talking about it. Reminded me that I sometimes get so caught up in recipes, water, how many ounces, how many veggies, should I try CO, try this, try that, don't eat this, can't buy that, can't get on the scale, wonder if I've lost etc etc etc..... no wonder my dear family wanted me to just shut up for a bit. lol. Thank you Divas, that I can come on here and post and talk about all of our woe without getting asked to just 'shut up about it for a while' --- my little sanctuary to get online and vent all I want to.

Gotta run. We are heading to the mountains and hopefully gonna get a hike in. An easy trail for me, but a hike all the same, and one I would never have attempted just 3 months ago. Progress with a capital P. I think I need to add to my goals for August:

- Stop obsessing and enjoy the journey.
- Regroup and evaluate once a month- see how far I've come and celebrate!

See you later,
FF

Back home The kitchen is stocked with l/c foods & I'm ready to get back to it.

I've decided that August will be a no scale zone month for me. I can feel myself getting obsessed with the stupid number, so I have to step away.

Happy Monday Ladies!

I'm still at 217 and I'm keeping my scale! Seriously I got this scale in 1980 after my third child was born. It's one of those doctor's office type scales that last forever. Paid $250 for it at Sears. One of the best buys I've ever done..let's see it's cost me about $9 a year so far. Anyway..good luck to my friends who are not weighing.

August is just beginning and there is a potential for lots of poundage lost! I'm gonna pass my century mark...but of course I will have to be patient and stay on plan to do that..just like every other month.

Have a good week.

Happy Monday! This morning I was up a pound, but that's Ok. Not too worried about it yet :-)

Didn't eat badly at all, but not perfectly to plan. (ate too many veggies, and a little bit of fruit) So, today is back on rigid induction meal plan.

Good Monday !!

I got on the scale this morning and was very disappointed. It showed a two pound gain. I've had TOM for 8 days -- which is driving me crazy -- the good doc says that's part of perimenopause. I've also stayed strictly on induction so I know it's just a TOM thing.

Hope everyone else is having a better Monday !!!

I'd say you got a bargain
Only 2 lbs till the century mark! I'm so excited for you

CL - Sorry the scale was up. Good luck getting back to Induction.

stagemom - Definitely sounds like a TOM thing. So annoying

Good Monday All!

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. As far as the scale goes, I have found that I weigh every day only when I am on a roll. If I am cheating, I don't even look at the big ole thang!!

I did well over the weekend, except for little dumb cheats (LDC's) such as a handful of popcorn & squash, both of which are higher in carbs. I slow cooked a pork roast with onion yesterday and pulled it apart and added a can of manwhich and some Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce for my husband, but saved some out for me. I need to quit replacing the veggie with cottage cheese, just easier to grab.

Saturday, my husband went with me to the Fitness Center. He couldn't believe how much I have improved in two months. Mind you, he did the elliptical for 40 minutes and 1 1 /2 miles on the mill, while I did only .75 miles and no elliptical, but I worked out on my 6 things I do and he is right...when I first started going I went 1/3 mile on the mill. Then we went to lunch and ordered salads with no dressing for me. He is so supportive. He really could care or less if I lose the weight, but he knows how bad I want it.

Todays menu is easy.
B-5 sausage links
L-pulled pork, clausen pickle
S-almonds
D-pulled pork and veggie

Have a nice week.
Cindy

it is waaaaay too quiet in here today, and I am going crazy!!!
Where is everyone! No one on the forums, in the blogs.. twilight zone! :-)

I have the worst breath right now. I had awesome chicken salad lettuce wraps for lunch, which I put red onion, and dill in. Amazingly tasty, but I am BREATHING it now. Ooof.

Sorry for the rambling.... guess I'll go do something productive!
