SlimD, we all carry our weight different. I am in a size 22, cuz I am one of those bottom happy gals. I always have to buy jeans with a baggy waist to fit my big rump!

Jenn, you are working so hard, good luck on that test!

Idaho, have a safe and fun trip....see you back here soon.

July is a big goal month for me. Plain and simple.....going to try and post everyday and post that I made another cheat free day. HERE'S TO JULY!!!

1) cheat free
2) water water water
3) workout 3-4 times every week
4) do something for me ( not sure what yet )
5) post daily

As far as weight-loss goals, what will be will be based on my willpower.

Today's menu:

B-5 sausage links
S-cheese cubes
L-cheese omlette
S-cheese cubes
D-tuna with celery, onion, and mayo. California blend veggies.

DAY ONE, CHEAT FREE SO FAR!!

Jenn I wish that I were as fortunate as you in the AC department! Ours is not working and they are telling us that we need a new unit - $2,000 that we don't have. I'm hot. The temperature in my house is 82 degrees.

Other than that, everything's peachy!

My weightloss is moving right along. I wanted so badly to be at 235 today so that I could claim my 50 pound loss (halfway to my goal, halfway through the year), but it is not to be. My weight has been bouncing around at around 236, taunting me.

My July goal is to get to 225.

Congrats to everyone on your continued successes!

Meg - Actually, it was your goals that reminded me we should get the new month rolling! And I thought your Freedom From Fat Month was very appropriate.

SlimD: When I did Atkins the first time I got down to 205. I had to buy my pants in the Plus Section but I could fit into shirts XLarge in the Juniors section. Talk about being a pear shaped mama! That new bra sounds WONDERFUL! I'm trying to lay off buying new clothing (besides a few school shirts) until I lose enough weight to justify it. But man, oh man, does that bra sound GREAT!

Roxanne - When I graduate we're going to replace that poor geriatric guy. It's a long shot to think that it'll last until then... but we're gonna bandaid it along. 2.5 years. It'll cost $3600 to replace it if it goes out completely and that would wipe our savings completely out... which I'm not willing to do since I don't have any personal income. I'm sorry yours is out... 80 degrees sucks and I get all sweaty and whiney. I hope you set up all the fans to blow on you. It'll be a little windy but it'll feel a whole lot better.

Thanks Jenn, for starting this... You ARE a regular!!

Gonna repost my last post from June:

Quote:
Ok, I'm thinking 'out loud'... But if I want to lose 100 lbs. by November, I have 72 lbs. to go and 5 months. Leaving the final 10 pounds for November, that means I have 62 lbs. in 4 months. If I divide, I get 15.5. So I am going to set a goal to lose 16 lbs. (rounding up and all) by July 31. Too much??

Up to this point, I've been playing with low carbs. I am going to try to follow a more disciplined Atkins plan. I am in moderate ketosis and have not been having too many carbs on a daily basis... but I haven't been counting them.

Today was a very average day:
B - 2 egg omelete w/
sausage, cheese, zuchini, peppers, onions -- I'd guess atleast 5

L- lowcarb burger, diet dr. pepper -- 5 carbs - 2 fiber = 3 net carbs (is that correct?)

s - almonds -- 5 carbs - 3 fiber = 2 net carbs

D - salmon, collards (collards are 9 - 5 = 4nc)

Thats my total so far. It is either 24 or 14. Can anyone advise me here??

So my July/August goals:

Lose 30 lbs.
Continue C25K training
100 miles (ride, walk, elliptical)
Start doing a more disciplined approach to Atkins,
limiting carbs to 30 (to start with)

I am loving omeletes right now.

2 egg omelete w/
sausage, zuchini, pepper, onion and ricotta cheese -- I'm giving this a 5, although I think that is high. The sausage had 0, the ricotta only had 1.
2 dark chocolate sugar free hershey bars... I was having a weepy moment. Tom is on the way, I have been thinking about my mother a lot and yesterday was my BIRTHDAY!! I'm giving the a carb a piece, even though that is a little high. Just rounding up. 2

I'm up to 7 today.

yeah well we are all shapped differently but dont get it twisted I have serious hips thighs and junk in the trunk ! HAHAHAHAH I think I am really losing inches thats why and gaining muscle. I do need to work on the abs and the swinging arms.

J Boogie: I cant wait for the bra, I lose inches like now I am a 38DDD( they dont even look that big anymore but the cup doesnt go down well at least not yet) so you feel a sistas pain its like impossible to find a great bra that rare size I use to be stuck on vanity fair this special one but its discontinued. after all these years.

Joy - sounds like you're off to a good start for your stricter Atkins approach!

Heather - just post! Make it a point to drop in once a day and say hi! It gets easier.

SlimD - I know how it is when you get attached a specific bra type. I remember the day I discovered push up bras for big girls. Got my knockers back up on my chest where they belong. I've been addicted ever since. And I know what you mean about cone ta-tas... I like mine nice and round (and on my chest!).

I have noticed the last 3 days. Since I have been limiting my carbs to 20grams a day. I am not hungry and I am eating far less calories. Monday I only ate 770cals., yesterday 440, and today 860.

This shouldn't be a surprise to me because I have been on Stillman's before, but I forgot how much you lose your appettie.

Today I ate:
1 Slice of Ham w/ cheese & Sausage link
1 Albacore tuna steak
3 dill pickles, 6 olives, 6 cubs of mild cheddar & 3 hard boiled eggs
1 blue bunny low card ice cream bar ( 4 net carbs ) 10 total carbs

I MUST have my ice cream. it is Texas and it gets hot here and somehow ice cream always makes me feel better. The low carb ice cream is pretty good.

Wow... where did June go?!?! It freaks me out how fast the months go when you are an adult! When I was a kid, I seriously thought that we went to school for a whole year, and then summer vacation was a whole year. I miss those days! Now, things come and go before I even get to enjoy them!

Anyway, I haven't weighed myself yet, since it's still Lady Time™.
I feel like I am doing well, but I do know that the weight isn't "melting" off.
You know what I hate? I hate being jealous. I was over at Cleo's blog earlier today, and she had lost 86lbs in 6 months. And although I am GENIUNELY thrilled for her and her success.. it does get to me a little. That pang of "why can't that be me?"
I wish my body responded as well as hers, or others. But I feel like such a bad person for even thinking that! I am so happy for her! and everyone who has successes, big and small! Why can't I just be happy for mine? no matter how slow the progress?!

Well, enough complainin' from me! Time to go do some laundry!

I rewarded myself at -25 lbs. with new bras, cause the old ones were about a year old and really too big. I went to Lane Bryant... I think I must have been like a 48DDDD, and I'm down to a 44DDD very comfortably. I got 4 different bras, one is a DEEP plunge and hubby really likes it. I do, too!! Wne I went to Lane Bryant, their bras were buy2, get2. AWESOME!!

Good morning lovely ladies.

Every day we expend more than we take in is a success. We are all different people and of course we lose at different rates. I'd love to lose 20,15 or even 10 in a month but I'm thinking those days are over for me and will not starve myself in order for those things to happen. No. I'll take my little losses and be happy with those. Every day I do not gain and every day I have a little loss is a victory over fat!

FREEDOM from FAT!!! My flag flies high this day.

Happy Wednesday to my low carb friends.

Hi Marilyn!! Welcome! :-)

So, it's another day! And I am happy for a new one! I think I went over on carbs yesterday, because for the first time I felt the insane urge to binge. I ate some dark chocolate and peanut butter which was freakishly good. Granted, it was in the "carb budget" but I should not have eaten so much of it. I honestly thought I could be trusted with a chocolate bar in the house, but obviously I cannot. Next time, I am most definitely buying the Ghirardelli single squares! Eh, you live and learn!

Last night I cleaned out my closet. I now have 1/2 a closet of clothes I can wear right now, and 1/2 a closet of clothes that don't quite fit me yet. I actually have TWICE the too small clothes. Its sad, but at the same time, so excited to have a brand new wardrobe just waiting for me!

have a great day ladies!

Good Morning Ladies!

Chai - If you'd like, you can swing on down to LOVELY East Texas and clean out my closet. I would love you forever and ever... even more than I love you now!

Marilyn: I love my Divas, even the quiet ones. I know I couldn't keep my sanity if I didn't have them to talk to!

I keep checking the scale every morning to see when I'm going to dip under 165, yeah, I wish! 265. I'm holding steady at 266.4. blah blah blah, why won't it budge, blah blah blah, maybe I SHOULD do Induction for a while, blah blah blah. Okaydonethanksbye!

Today I get to study for my final (tomorrow) and catch a matinee with DH. I wish I could say life will get calmer, but NOooooooooooooooo. That would be too easy. So I get a few days off (spend time with DH and finish the shelves so I can put my living room back together after 6 MONTHS!!!

Big goal for June (Next week really) is to finish those shelves. Stain, polyeurethane, drag them into the house, put the shelving system together, realphabetize my expansive DVD collection and find a home for the bookshelve I was using till I outgrew it. I'm thinking it'll look great taking up space in the Room Of Doom. Then I get my mantle back which I haven't decorated all year due to half my DVD collection living on it. BOOO ON UGLY MANTLES!!! Oh well, at least my Turkey Day decorations can go up in the fall, it's my most impressive mantle display of the year.

Wow, I'm yammering. I got an 80 on my test. So if I score AT LEAST 64 on the Final I'll make a B for the class. I like that! I knew it was too long of a shot to make an A. But I still feel a B for a summer class is awesome, especially an intense class like Chemistry. Tomorrow evening I'm taking my "On Call Tutor" and her DH out for Dinner and Movie to say Thank You! for answering the phone and explaining things to me, sometimes multiple times a day. She's been awesome.

Off to study! Have a good day ladies!!!

Good job on a great June and let's kick some a$$ this month!

slimdiva...that's awesome that you "qualify" for the locker at your gym! it's great that they reward those that attend regularly rather than just offer them up for a certain price. You should be proud!

Welcome Marilyn!!

Jenn--how great of you to take your "tutor" and DH out to show your appreciation. I try to always do something nice for people who go above and beyond for me. I think it makes the world a better place.

Y'all have a great day! I am off at noon today and won't be back at work till Monday....hopefully the weather will hold up so we can go out on the boat everyday. I may have time to hop on at night but if not...have a great 4th and be safe and GOOD!

SlimD - You must take pics of the new hair and lashes for us!

Heather - You're posting! Yeah! She's one of my best friends, so she might have felt like she had to. But she's super nice and made an A in the class so she had the knowledge. But I'd just really like to say thank you! Enjoy the boat!!! I hope the weather is good for ya!

Chai - Are you tall? I have a pair of jeans for tall people. I can't wear them b/c they're about a 12 inches too long. I may cut them into capri's or whatever they're called. These are off limits: The jeans I wear almost every day, my Gir shirt, my Bad Kitty shirt and my school shirts.

DAY 1 OF 31.....BIG CHECK! Perfect Atkins day for me!!! I am going to try so hard this month....ate right, worked out, and drank my wawa!

Everyone is so posting on this board, love to read it.....my fave book right now is you all!

Yes Slim D, WORKOUT WEDNESDAY is here. Going to the fitness center tonight as I did last night, and to think I even used the same treadmill I tripped over and fell Sunday was hilarious. I was soooo cautious. Plugged in and watched Celebrity Family Fued while I sweat my bajeebers off!

Todays menu:

Breakfast-4 sausage links
Snack- cheese cubes
Lunch-celery sticks with tuna
Snack-cheese cubes
Dinner-grilled chicken, lc cole slaw

On my 3rd bottle of water. Tomorrow I will be about 1/15 of this cheat free month!!!

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Looks like we're doing July goals.... so, Here's mine!

• Exercise MORE
• Less diet drinks, more plain water (yuck!)
• Keep staying under 20g per day (no problemo!)
• Lose 10lbs

My first real (aggressive) goal, is to lose 50lbs from now, 'till November. That is 10lbs a month. At the rate I am losing now, it's fairly impossible. But that won't stop me from trying! ;-) 50lbs from today would put me at 199. Which course would be quite a landmark! And would land me 1/2 way to my goal!

Hi everyone! I'm back (hopefully to stay)!!!

Well, as I'm sure you all guessed... I was off plan again. Life got busy and, as I usually do, I used that as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted (and I actually got sick of fast food, which I didn't know was possible really).

But, here I am AGAIN... I want to do this... and I hope that this is the time I'll find the strength to really follow through and make this a way of life.

My new plan is to help me try to get out of the mindset of low carb being a diet. I'm not going to count carbs (because I end up beating myself up whenever I go over that 20 carb limit, whether it's by 2 carbs or 60 carbs... and that leads to some major binging for me). Instead, I am going to think of carbs as what they are... unhealthy. I'm going to stick to only very low carb foods, primarily eggs, lc veggies, meat, some dairy, and some splenda. I'm still going to have coffee and diet soda. I'll still have an occassional lc product, like lc tortillas or lc yogurt... but these will be the exceptions to the norm. Every once in a great while (I hope!), I'm sure I'll have a bit of some very high carb food (too many to mention!), BUT, these will be very rare treats (as opposed to being a part of my daily menu)! I will start moving more and hope to start working out again at least 3 times a week for an hour and half each time. I will drink at least 6 glasses of water a day. As much as possible, I want to keep this simple. So, basically low carb foods, exercise and water!

Today's Menu:
B- sausage patties w/egg and cheese, coffee w/cream and splenda
L- club salad w/o croutons
D- mixed veggies, grilled chicken
