Hey Magickal, glad you're back! Thanks! I am so not believing that I am in Onderland. It is a good feeling mentally.
I am running late tonight, but did want to check and say hey Divas! I have found that I do better when I check in. You guys help me stay accountable. Blessings to all!! Good night! |

Dropping in to say Hi while I let the info I'm reviewing sink in before I review it AGAIN!
I had a test my second day. I had less than 12 hours (including sleep) to learn 3 chapters. I made a 66.4 on the test. Not too shabby. Class average was a 70.4 and lowest grade was a 37.somethingorother. The final replaces our lowest test grade so I'll be fine. I have a practical in lab today. I usually ace the practicals so I'm feeling pretty confident about it. I still need to work on veins/arteries but that's what I'll work on some more when I finish this little post. I've been eating LC but not much. I ended up hypoglycemic Tuesday afternoon b/c I had a shake for breakfast, salad with a bit of chicken for lunch (11:30ish am) and then I spent all afternoon in the lab. When I left around 5:30 I was exhausted and wanted to go home and sleep. DH wanted to take me out to dinner (the only time I'll get to see him until Sunday) so I agreed. Ending up pigging out on some queso but I felt tons and oodles better. We figured I was just hungry and need to take a snack or something if I'm gonna skip my 3p-4p snack/lunch/dinner. I have not been getting much in the way of calories this week. The scale is still bobbling around. Unfortunately I don't really have time to care. I did find my old ketostix and it shows I'm in heavy ketosis so I guess really I'll lose it when I lose it. It seems the more I fight it, the more I lose (not lose pounds, just lose the battle). I'm very lonely in my class. About 90-95% of the students had A&P I together during Summer I so they know each other and they talk and chat and laugh and I'm sitting there by myself feeling as outcast as I did in high school. I try to join them in conversations but they make it pretty clear they don't want me involved. It makes me wish I was someone else, someone that was not such an acquired taste... but then I wouldn't be and that would suck! Unfortunately these are probably the people I'll be in nursing school with so I'll just make friends with them eventually. I only have 3 weeks or so left of class so I can deal with it until then. Besides, if they suck this bad, I don't really WANT to be friends with them. Like I said, it's just one of the rare instances where I wish I was someone else. blah blah blah! Miss you guys! Glad to see you're all hanging in there, coming BACK (MAGICK!) and being good. I'll check in on you later!!!

Hi Ladies, Just checking in ! I fell off the low carb wagon on Monday at lunch but climbed hastily back on board the rest of the day -- I'm not going to get on the scale until Monday -- hope I don't cry !
Did everyone see the news this morning? After a two year study --- low carb diets were shown to be safe and they were suprised that it even lowered cholesterol. I love when I'm right -- don't ya'll ?(a southern term; I'm in Alabama). ![]() Hopefully, I can post more often so I can get to know everyone better-- my son has been involved in community theatre over the last month -- and he starts band camp on Monday ! So we've been a little busy. My child is headed to high school this year <sob> ![]() Hope everyone else has had a good week so far ! ![]() |

Jenn,
I just re-read your post at a much slower speed. I hate that everything is like high school again -- I'm in my 40's but sometimes I feel like it can be very clique-ish at work as well. As I have overheard some of the conversations some of these people have had; I'm glad that I don't socialize with them on a more frequent basis and everything is kept on a work level. I know that I would never have friends like this outside of work; why would I want them when I'm here 8 hours a day? There's plenty of other people I enjoy talking too -- and the ultimate is that you're a good person and if they can't see that; they are not worth getting involved with. Now, did that just sound like a mom or what? ![]() |

Stagemom: Much needed reminder. Yesterday was just a bad day in a bad week. Today was a better day. On my practical I kicked butt and took names! And some guy tried to steal me from my DH. I was REALLY flattered.
To treat myself after a long week I'm making hamburgers. Oopsie buns and homemade patties. I get to study my tookas off this weekend and hopefully be ahead for next week. I'm just glad I survived!!! ![]() I'm still on plan. Like I said, I've been eating pretty much salads, small amount of chicken (baked/grilled), Atkins Shakes and an oz of almonds a day. Honestly I feel fine so I'll probably stick with it. ![]() Soooo, while I was gone... How are you all? Doing well? On plan? Found any delicious goodies you wish to share with the group? Tell me all about it! ![]() |

Hi,
New here, but am inspired by the messages I have read. I am seriously going to try to post daily this first month, as I am very isolated here and doing this alone. Obvoiusly 100lbs by Nov is a bit much when joining so late, but I am going to aim for the following for July (only 2 weeks left) 1. Stick to induction. 2. Drink lots of water. 3. Have veges the biggest part of both lunch and dinner. 4. Only resort to Diet coke when those sweet tooth pangs hit, hopefully only one can each alternate day. 5. Do the elliptical trainer 3x5mins each day this week and 3x10 minutes next week. 6. Do daily 15 minutes of toning exercises. 7. Loose 6 lbs - (Is this realistic? What is realistic?) ![]() 8. Get my head around ibs, beacuse I think and measure in metric. 9. Keep carb couning with LifeForm software 9. Post daily. |

kiwikid: WELCOME!
2.2 lbs is worth 1 kg. I hope that helps you with the conversions! You have good goals and you've found an awesome group! I'd be off the wagon and miserable if it weren't for my friends here! ![]() Do try to post daily even if it's just to say Hi and if you're on track for the day. Sometimes that's all we have time for. Again, Welcome!!! To Everyone: Good Morning! Lets all have a great LC Friday!!! |

I tried the oopsie rolls last week, I ended up making "pancakes" out of them, they weren't what I expected, but that's fine. I'm not really crying over the loss of bread. The pancakes were good though, I started the oopsie rolls, and added a bit of vanilla and a packet of splenda and threw them in a frying pan, served with whipped cream...mmm..mmm. good.
I fell off the low carb wagon last night. We went to see the midnight showing of the Dark Knight, and I had saved up some carbs to have a couple of cheese fries, (I swear I was only going to have 3) Well, I ended up having like half, and then I ordered popcorn! What was I thinking? Jenn, congrats on your pratical. |

Hi Ladies ! My son, Josh and I went to the Georgia Aquarium today. I took the day off because he starts band camp Monday and then in two weeks, he starts high school
I can't believe my little guy is growing up so fast on me -- he's already taller than me !Anyway, if I didn't sweat off 3 pounds waiting to go in; I'll be very surprised ! I'm thinking the raging headache I have is from the heat. We enjoyed the aquarium and then drove the 2 1/2 hours back to Alabama. Anyway, I'm about to enjoy some ground beef with melted cheese -- as a snack. By the way, I've been reading about peri-menopause and menopause because I'm going through it and weight loss is very important because swinging hormone levels have an affect on weight -- causing it to increase. So if you're facing menopause; that's really good information to know. One more thing to remember when losing weight. Here's to a great weekend everyone ! |

Hello Divas
I'm still not losing weight. I was frustrated so I referred to The Good Book. I'm doing induction till at least next Thursday (book says 3-5 days to get things going). Then I'm going to re-enter OWL the proper way. (One food group at a time in 5 carb increments). The book says the whole point of OWL is to know your CCLL and honestly, I don't have a clue. I just keep my carbs low (around 20, hopefully less) and I allow myself to eat a few OWL friendly foods (almonds, the occassional berries, the occassional beans). Sooooo, I'm thinking, if I do this the way The Good Doc says you're supposed to do it, then maybe, just maaaaaaybe, the whole thing will work. He does have a system all set up and outlined in numerous books for a reason. ![]() That's where I stand today. Not happy but not giving up. ![]() |

Thanks StageMom.
Jenn, What a good reminder for all of us. I have been doing pretty much what you describe yourself as doing. I do know that berries seem to agree with me, but have no clue about my CCLL either. I think I will join you at induction again for 3 - 5 days and then do it right this time, adding one group at a time. -- So, tomorrow I am doing 20 carb induction again.... think that I will try the 5 days and then on Friday add the first 5 carb increment back in. Thinking that might also help me curb the cravings I have been facing -- -been nibbling too much and it has been tough for a week or so now. Need to get back to not having cravings and induction will hopefully remedy the situation. Saw someone today that I have not seen in a while. They kept saying how good I look and then later said, have you dyed your hair? A little later said something about haircut... finally, I took pity and told them that I have lost a little bit of weight. Duh! I have lost a third of me, and all they could notice or think they noticed was that my hair looked different to them.. It is the same as it has been for years now!! lol.. Did not go into details with them...... some folks, it is easiest to just ignore if possible.... and thankfully, it will probably be several more months before I see this person again. My dh just rolled his eyes at me from across the room. Hey, who really cares, but it was kinda funny too. Think I am gonna boil some eggs and do devilled eggs, tuna salad, roast beef in the crockpot, fresh green beans and run pick up some fresh lettuce tomorrow. Also have some bacon to help the next five days of induction. May pick up some hamburger for a meatloaf -- and a crustless quiche sounds yummy too. Will check back tomorrow. Have a blessed Sunday Divas!

Fancy: Nice to have some company.
I did well this morning. I scrambled an egg instead of drinking my shake. My supplements didn't go down as easily, I never realized how that thick shake helped them. I'm a little nauseated right now so I'm wondering if one egg is enough... but honestly, I can't eat too many eggs. They're just WAY too filling. It's probably just nerves... wondering if Induction will help. I've got my fingers, toes, legs, arms, and eyes crossed! ![]() I'm doing waaay less than 20g carbs for my Induction. Basically I'm allowing myself 2 small salads a day for veggies with extremely skimpy salad dressing (1-2 tbls) and ONLY ranch dressing. I still have a few days to decide how to add things back in, but after the breakfast incident I think the first thing I'll add back is my shake. Unless it gets better between now and Thursday (which I'm sure it will). Actually, thinking about it (out loud), Atkins shakes are really expensive. If I can wean myself off them then I'll finish this batch and just quit buying them. Would save me almost $12-$14/week. DH is off today so I don't know what I'll be eating today. It will be Jenns Super Awesome Induction friendly. I'd honestly rather eat in than deny myself something OWL friendly at a restraunt. Oooohhhh, Fajitas!!! All meats and butter! NOM NOM NOM! For the week I've made hamburger pattys and oopsie rolls to take to school and eat for lunch. Then I can come home to chicken breast and salad. And of course some sort of scramble for breakfast. If I need a snack there are cheese sticks in the fridge. Not sure what to snack on at school since I'll be there till 6:00pm or later. I'll stock up on a few meat sticks (Slim Jims.... ewww!) and then I can have some protein to hold me over till I get home. It's all about planning, right? Ohhh, for the record, since I'm a whiney butt about the scale and I tend to freak out when I'm not losing weight, my starting weight for Jenns Super Awesome Induction is 262.6. Fancy: I've actually done that with people before. Don't be offended, at least they recognize that you look AWESOME!!! And actually, I got some of the same responses when I had lost 100 lbs. I was slightly offended when they didn't recognize it, but, I like that they don't remember me fatter. ![]() Stagemom: kick that headache to the curb! They suck! And not to mention they hurt... but if they didn't hurt I don't think they would suck so bad. Alright ladies! Lets do this! Finish your LC Rockin' Weekend with a bang! ![]() |

Yeah ladies whenever things start getting out of control I cut back my carbs...go to an induction level for a few and that cuts back the appetite. So I'm doing that today. I wasn't 'bad' bad yesterday but I did have more cals of low carb food than is best for my loss. I had 1,800 cals but I lose best at 1,200-1,500. My average for the past few weeks is around 1.500 but in the past week or so I've gone a few hundred over that about three times. So today is Stay Strong Sunday for me. Have a good one!
