Glad you're back slimdiva!!

Morining to all my divas!!!! Beautiful day over here, hope the weather is kind to all of you.

So, it's my 4th day of induction & i got my tom today... i started on monday at 282 & weighed myself this morning & im 271.8 !!!!!! WTH!!!!! That is so crazy!!! I didn;t think my weight would drop during tom, usually i gain anywhere from 5-10 pounds when it comes around. I really hope it isn't temporary.

I've been drinking around 75oz of water every day & doing cardio and a clean induction...

Good late morning fine ladies,

Chai...I sure hope Sunshinelady's advice helps. I'm in a kind of mini (I hope) stall myself but I know if I hang in there I will see the scale move. So will you! I'm doing Stillman's right now. It sorks for me if I behave.

Magickal...Good to see you here as well. I had Mahi Mahi last nite with parsley, lemon pepper and a little butter on it...baked in the oven. Man, fish can really rock!

Ms Sunshine...Wow do you have the energy! I couldn't even finish the first task..painting the bathroom in one day. But you go girl!!!!

Cara..the only way those donuts would survive with me in the same house is if I FROZE them. It's just me and hubs and I keep his bread in the freezer so I don't have to look at it except when I'm making his meals of course. So good for you...good willpower!!

Dianna...An awesome loss!

Jennifer...I hope you feel better today. I live in the Houston area. My kids range from 27 - 34 yrs. old and they're still telling me stuff they did...mostly when I was working of course...but since they're adults Inever get on their case anymore. I just laugh when they tell me stories.

JennB...what is sugar Cookie Tea? It sure does sound yummy. You're in 24 jeans? That's good! I doubt I could wear a 26 right now myself. I seem to have the belly that does not go away! I lost a good portion of my buns though. I guess I'm going to have to be real skinny before I do the jeans thing again. The stretchy pants are ever so comfy.

SlimD..Glad you're back and feeling better. I hope the rest of the coughs don't hang on. Don't obsess about the wedding and looking good for it..you're very pretty right now! Just do the best you can until then and remember there will be other times in the future when you can really wow your family with your looks. It's gonna keep getting better.

slimD: Welcome Back To The Land Of The Living!!!

chai - If you must weigh yourself daily try averaging your weight for the week. Your weight fluctuates daily. Try weighing yourself 4 - 6 + times in a day to see the fluctuations. I did this when I bought my way cool scale (piece of GLASS! with a digital readout and does my pounds to the 10th) and it said I seriously gained 4 lbs when all I'd had was a single bottle of water (in no way shape or form near 4 lbs of fluid!). Crazy! I would really recommend this so you can see first hand how unreliable the scale is. Your menu looks good, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Like it was recommended, you may want to go easy on the syrups. If I get too much artificial sweetener in my diet my body starts to treat it like sugar and I go into a stall (which is why I've given up diet soda all together and I limit myself to 1 diet lipton a day). I don't know if Splenda will do the same to me, last time it was *I think* the stuff in Equal. I'll play with it later when I've lost more weight and I'm comfortable with possibly going into a stall... that's like 50 lbs + away. I'm really strict about weighing once a week b/c last time I showed a weight fluctuation it just crushed me and I almost cried... and of course I got on the boards and vented (alright, I whined... ) but for the last few weeks I've been doing it once a week and mentally I'm a lot happier.

diana - congrats on 4 days clean and back in the land of LC WOE! like everyone says, the key is to never give up!

I've decided to do my Workout Wednesday on Thursday just b/c that's when my schedule permits it right now (that'll change during summer II semester).

I worked out 60 minutes on the elliptical machine. I burned 400 calories (100 carbs! rock on!) and I'm going back to work out again this evening (should be similar results). I've talked to my Mom and working out twice in a day shouldn't throw me into starvation mode but I might be sore (I'm supposed to work out again tomorrow morning). I'll try to eat a little extra today... although it's 12:35, I still haven't had lunch and I'm honestly NOT hungry. blah. chicken and green beans, here I come! (isn't it nice to have FORCE yourself to eat? like, it's time, I NEED IT! especially since I worked out... but I just don't want it... who'd have EVER thought I'd be like this!)

Can't really post my menu for today b/c I have NO idea what I'll be eating... I have to cook today... OH YEAH! Thai chicken. I've got it defrosting in the fridge. I'll go easy on the sauce since it has a billion carbs in it... but I've got to get it eaten to make room in my freezer for legal stuff. Now to find a belly to call home to all the lean cuisines in there!!!

Have a good day all! I'll check in laters!!!

Meg - how funny that you're in Houston area! I'm from LaMarque (near Galveston) and right now I live outside of Nacogdoches!

It's a tea that is supposed to be sugar cookie flavored and from what I've read on it, it's been described as "divine" and a wonderful sf treat when your sweet tooth is killing you. I am on a hot tea kick so I'm all about trying new flavors. My favorites right now are Snapple Mango and Snapple Strawberry and when it's early enough in the day I have some black tea that has caramel in it! Doesn't show up on the carb count so I figure 1 for the tea and 1 for the splenda.

Yeah, I'm in 24 jeans. They "fit". I don't have to suck in to zip them up or anything. I was really hoping they'd be loose by now... but ehh, I'll just stick with it and they'll be loose eventually. Just have to hang in there!!! Speaking of buns, Hubby says my toosh is round now! How awesome is that?

My mom gave me stretchy jeans once and man oh man were they comfy!!! And they'd didn't look hideous. I loved those bad boys. I wish I could find some again.

Thanks Jenn.. I weigh myself every day, because it does it with the Wii Fit :-) And I can't HELP but look! I'm not so concerned with the 1.1lb "gain" so much as the fact that it's been a couple weeks without any real movement. :-/ I'll do as you suggest and lay off the syrups (but I just bought 12 new flavors!!!) And the crystal light.

I am gonna not weigh myself for awhile.. well, I'll TRY not to! haha

Thanks again.. I needed you!

Chai: I really think if you spend a few days weighing yourself every few hours you'll see how much fluctuations there are throughout the day and your stress level will go down. I fully believe that that is the reason I'm on speaking terms with the scale. I understand that Wii is doing this to you but I still say just average them and take that as your weight. Glad I could help!!!

Diana - I *really* want to see another 4 lb drop this week. It's the same excitement I get when I scratch a lotto card or check my numbers... but in this instance I'm actually doing something to make it happen (instead of leaving it to odds where I have a better chance of getting struck by lightning. )... anyways, that makes it easy to say "hey, I have time, I'll go back and work out AGAIN this afternoon. I just really hope that I don't hit that stall that everyone hits when they throw exercise into the mix... Oh well, we'll see what Sunday brings!

To everyone, I went for my first solo ride today. A bunch of backroads so I got my speed up to about 45 mph and there was little to no traffic. I got lucky, no dogs, kids, or anything crazy except a squirrel that thought about playing chicken with me... Then I got on the FM and got up to about 55mph (at times) but I'm still finding it hard to maintain that speed. Luckily there was little to no traffic so I could pretty much go as fast (slow!) as I wanted and all was great with the world!!!

I'll check in on you tonight!!!

Went for my second work out for my (belated) Workout Wednesday. I think I remember what this feels like. It's SORE! hahahahaha! The elliptical I use has arm swingie thingies and I didn't think it really did anything but my arms are sore too! So yeah, I'd say it does something even if it doesn't feel like it. It feels really good to be this sore and sunburned at the end of a Thursday. Feels like I just had the best most awesomest Saturday ever and the weekend hasn't even started!!!

Good Morning Ladies!!!

What is today? Freaky Friday? I forget but that would be awesome! I'm in a great mood today and I'm about to head out to the gym for probably my last workout of the week (Hubby is off this weekend).

Hope you all have a good day!!!

Forgot to post my menu for yesterday (short but sweet):
B: Atkins Shake
L: 3/4 dipped chicken breast with salad and cheese stick
D: Thai Chicken
S: OMM

I didn't do so great eating my veggies but really, I had to force myself to eat all that. Hopefully today will be the same! ROCK ON!!!!

Happy Friday the 13th to you too, Jenn! :-)

So, I have new rules for myself for this week!!

1. Cut out all artificial sweeteners (oi!)
2. Do more cardio
3. Not weigh myself until NEXT Thurs. (one week)

I was good yesterday! The Wii Fit weighed me, but I turned away and did not look! :-)
And I drank plain ol' nasty yucky water.

Why does no one else hate water? it tastes blech! I know I should love it because its so essential... but I dislike it quite a bit!

So, this week should be interesting!

Actually, I was talking to my dog about water (yeah... I get bored...) and we decided that water is an acquired taste. (She much prefers ice cream over water!)

Gosh, somebody please remind me, the next time I think something carby sounds good, of how darn good I feel when I'm eating on plan!!!

Lots of water still - making my bacon and eggs right now!

Thank you guys for the great posts and support! I finally feel like I have a target - my dad is coming on July 18 - I want to stay totally on plan so that I'll have something to show for it! I don't know if you guys experience this, but it seems that I DO hide my weight well, and I DO fluctuate SO much, that no one seems to notice a good 15 pound loss! I definitely notice, and I guess that's the important thing.

Have a good day girls - lots of water, keep moving - lots of little moving adds up!

Peachy,
You are doing so well....congrats.

Chai, I actually learned to love water, cold aqua fina. I honestly believe that once you start drinking it more, you crave it more. Quenches the thirst, lubes the muscles and is essential in all of our organ functions.

Last night, I way over did the workout. An hour is a bit much for me. Made it .75 mile on the mill, 1000 nusteps, leg press, leg weights, bike, bye bye machine and back to the mill for another .25 mile. I was bound and determined to get a mile in even if I have to break it up. I started at 1/2 mile, and hopefully in a month, I will be at 1.5 miles. I definately see progress. Love it there.

I don't think I told any of you about my upcoming "Ladies of the 80's Night", which is tomorrow night. My sisters and 9 of our friends whom we went out "partying" with in the 80's are hooking up and going out. We are all dressing 80's and my outfit consist of Levis tucked and rolled, Def Leppard Pyromania shirt, Converse One Star canvas shoes, slouch socks, my old Guess watch with the big face (doesn't work, looks only), 80's earrings and necklace (fake colored pearls), bright light blue eyeshadow and big big hair.

Some other outfits will be Madonna, a bridesmade dress with matching dyed shoes, my sister is wearing her old Guess mini skirt and a Guns' N Roses Tshirt and red bandana, leg warmers etc. I will post a pic next week.

Aside from that, I have a golf fundraiser I am helping with tomorrow morning, then a graduation party before the ladies night. I plan on eating clean except I will have 2-3 beers tomorrow night. I hardly ever drink anymore...left that with the 80's , so I still plan to eat and drink as clean as possible.

Have a nice Friday everyone.
Cindy

Ya know, I was just eating my greasy (YUM!) scrambled eggs and it dawned on me.

When I returned to college I started eating a LOT of fast food. Right in front of campus there is a McDonalds, Jack In The Box, Taco Bell, Taco Bueno and Canes. They're all in a row. Not to mention right down the street (less than half a mile) Whataburger, Sonic, Schlotzskys, Dairy Queen... the list goes on and on and on. So really, I could get delicious, cheap, CRAP to eat on demand. I got to the point where I was eating it daily. I was taking a nutrition class so for a couple of months I was *again* trying the food pyramid WOE. I was also looking into Gastric Bypass (insurance turned me down... apparently being 300 lbs with multiple comorbities is NOT enough to justify a life saving, money saving procedure). The more I learned about Gastric Bypass I learned that you have to eat a LC WOE post procedure and give up soda. So April 6 I started eating LC and a month later I gave up soda. Now two months later I've lost 25 lbs, I feel AWESOME! and I can actually drive past fast food joints without drooling. I'm actually getting to the point where I can look at them as a building instead of a place to eat (that's how I look at Burger King, which I've never liked). So right now, this very minute, I'm actually very proud of myself for breaking the fast food addiction. Which is an accomplishment b/c even watching SuperSize Me didn't break the addiction.

I did watch a few shows to get myself ready to lose weight.
* SuperSize Me - naturally, it at least "got me thinking" - if you aren't familiar with it, a guy set out to prove that McDonalds is NOT healthy. He ate there 3x a day, and if super size was offered he'd take it. He gained about 30 + lbs, his blood levels were horrible at the end of it, his doctors were begging him to quit his experiment. It was very eye opening as to what I've been doing to my body.
* I Weigh 2000 Pounds or something like that. It was a show about super morbid obese people, the kind that are actually bedbound due to their weight, walking to the bathroom is a major ordeal for the ones that *can* walk, they have to breathe off an oxygen tank. I watched that show probably 10 times before I deleted it to remind me of where I was headed if I didn't get this under control soon.
* You Are What You Eat - it's on the BBC channel. This one has a nutritionist who converts junk food eaters to a vegetarian holistic diet. She would have them keep a food diary for a week and she would lay out on a table (more like two or a really long one) most of the food and soda they had eaten for the week. She would even lay out the sugar in tablespoons of what they had consumed for the week. It was INSANE the amount of food one person could consume in all junk for one week. The table was all shades of beige. Then she would lay out their new food on a table and it was beautiful and colorful. I watched a TON of episodes of that show and it's a great reminder to eat healthy (although I'll take LC over vegetarian).

Those are the ones I can think of off hand.

But I digress... the reason for the post... I haven't eaten fast food in over 2 months. I can drive past all those fast food joints and look at the architecture of the building instead of thinking about how good I'll feel eating their food (not thinking about how run down I'll feel after eating their food! ) So yeah, now I rate fast food joints based on how good their salads are (Jack In The Box is numero uno!)

Hi Divas! I am finally getting a moment to check in... been a busy busy week. Work has been crazy and then I think we have either been somewhere, someone was sick or just plain exhausted. Hopefully having a quiet stay at home weekend and I can get caught up reading what is happening with everyone. I am feeling totally exhausted and may just have a lazy weekend --

Missed you Divas!
