Good Evening ladies!

If you don't mind, I'd like to post my menu for today...and congratulate myself at 7 full days on plan so far..yay!

b: coffee w/ cream, splenda
l: bunless cheeseburger leftover from dinner, small serving leftover homemade coleslaw
d: chicken parm with no breading and a small greek salad
s: 2 BIG glasses of Pinot Noir...it was yum though, and kept me from eating chocolate!
(hopefully I'll be as lucky this time around and the wine/alcohol I consume will not really slow me down, if so, I'll have to cut it out!)

Tuesday is going to be great for all of us...taking it day by day.

abouttime - good point about associating food w/ feeling. I know that I so do that - I'm famous for craving a certain, specific thing, and I don't think it has so much to do w/ the food as it does the memory/experience. Concerning cheats, I have decided that if I want to cheat, I'm going to make it something that actually tastes good - I used to mindlessly eat whatever I could put into my mouth - I'd be scared to actually count all of those carbs!

Busy day - lots and lots of house cleaning - getting tons of crud out - we have way, way to much to keep up with.

Still playing lots of tennis, and I am loving it - can't believe I've let almost 9 years slip by since we've played regularly. and I am much better on my water. I need to watch my salt and get more whole foods.

Have a good night ya'll

Magik its just amazing what you've been through, I am glad you shared your story with us because you made it through and you are that light at the end of the tunnel for other women.

As a child for me, it was very hard i told y'all my dressing room stories, I remember always being chunky and my mom putting me on diets etc. I remember having to take salads for lunch at a young age then it was slim fast in 4th grade, i dont know what she was thinking but i guess you are only a parent once. Then weight watchers in 7th grade. My dad and brother would tease me call me Big Man or porker i know thats what famlies do, but I feel like you magik if I was just smaller they would finally be proud of me I mean really Ive been to under grad and grad school graduated from both but you still feel that little pinch of being uncomfortable eating around them for dinner or makin sure I wear the slimmest looking thijngs. When I lost 60lbs before whew they were glowing. but you know, now I it aint for them its just for me,this time no one else and thats the only way it can work right DIVAS.

sshheesshh!! Parents - what are they (we) thinking sometimes?? One of my biggest prayers is that I always am aware that EVERY SINGLE word I speak is either building my kids up or breaking them down - it's that simple.

Guys, my heart breaks for you - for all of us who have felt that conditional love, that feeling of not meeting approval - it sucks!! But I think it's awesome that we are taking some control, in a positive way, for our lives. And no matter what - we do have control of how our lives end up - we all have consequences of our choices -either positive or negative. No matter what others have done to us, once we come to terms w/ how that hurt us, we can start to make those positive choices and enjoy the positive outcomes!!

We're on the road, girls!! Cling to the truth and be strong - we can do this!!!

Have a great day ladies!!

ChaiLatte'

Don't anyone worry about starting "late" or that you won't lose 100 lbs by Nov. The important thing is we'll all be smaller and healthier by November whether it's 100 lbs, 50 lbs, or 10 lbs. Every bit helps!

I also felt (still do sometimes) that my family's love is based on my weight. The last thing my dad said to me was that I needed to lose weight. Yep, on his deathbed that's what he told me. Not I love you, or I'm proud of you. It's almost 20 years later & it still kills me. My mom's no better (have to admit she's improved a little). When you've gone through so many years feeling worthless because of your weight by the people who gave birth to you and should love you no matter what, it's hard to get over. Especially when it's just ingrained into you.

The feeling I associate with food is - no feeling. I don't necessarily use it to numb (although sometimes I do), more like 'I'm eating what I want, I'm carefree and not worried about any woe'. It's weird, I know, but years of dieting have made me yearn for a day when I can just enjoy eating what I want without feeling guilty or worrying that my jeans are going to be too tight the next day.

Diva - I haven't used coconut oil, but do a search and you'll find tons of threads.

heather - Congrats on a cheat free week!

chamie - Did you eat the s/f jello? Did it help your cravings? If you're worried about triggering a binge, it can help to have your sweet with a fat. Some whipped cream on top, maybe a piece of cheese. Fat fills us up and satisfies us which is a big help toward not feeling deprived.

yesterday:
b - Greek yogurt, coffee
l - turkey salad, salad
d - chili, salad
136 oz water, 1 can diet Barq's

Thank you for the welcome, Jennifer! :-) I am excited to be here!

Your story about your father is so sad, and I am so sorry. But if you do think about it, he wanted you to lose weight BECAUSE he loved you. Must have just been his backwards way of saying it.

I often think the opposite about my family. . . we are all heavy (with the exception of my size 2 sister) and we're so close, I think, because of it. I worry that if we all get trimmer, things will change! Weird thought.

Anyway, thanks again!

Good Afternoon All,

Wow, this board is hopping. Great to have newbies. It will be nice getting to know all of you.

Slim D & Peachy.....pretty gals you two. Divas all the way!

Today starts my huge water intake day, some with crystal light and some plain, at least 120 oz/day. So far, I have 100 oz in, so I will hit 140, but I have been in the bathroom nonstop. I believe Fancy Face's consistant water intake has helped her, that and several low carb meals each day.

Today's menu:
Breakfast, 4 sausage links.
Snack, broccoli (burping ugghghhhh all day) and cauliflower
Lunch, BLT in lettuce leafs
Snack, cauliflower (sorry broccoli)
Dinner, chef salad w/turkey and HB eggs
Snack, fried cheese

Have a good rest of the day.
Cindy

SlimD: The workouts are going well. I hate GOING to the gym but I don't mind being there. I'm sure I'll get to the point where I enjoy going.

Me? I'm bat**** crazy, as Hubby and I put it. It's all good. Besides crazy women are better than normal ones... we're more interesting, exciting... and well... crazy...

And BTW - I LOVE the new name. I may make everyone start calling me that!!!

abouttime: I keep some SF chocolate around for those "I gotta have it right now or else I'm gonna do something stupid" moments. It's worked out well while I was weaning myself off carbs.

Jennifer: Eat the jello. If you need more, eat more. Special treat, put a squirt or two of whip cream on it. It's pretty legal and a great way to wean yourself off sweets while you get into the swing of LC WOE.

Fancy: I wish I could find CF Diet Mountain Dew... of course if I did I'd probably start drinking soda again... and I really feel that not drinking soda has been a good thing for me.

Cara: congrats on the tennis and water!!! I'm finding that with working out again it's a LOT easier to get in all my water each day.

Magickal: You're much more open than I am. But I'm very happy for you that you're moving forward and making your life better! (for you and your daughter!)

Meg: Congrats on the pound! Each one counts!

SlimD: Let me know how the coconut oil works out for you. I read about it on the other threads and I feel, deep in my heart, that its a fad and I should avoid it. On the other hand, it might just be one of those things that works for some people and not for others.

ChaiLatte: Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're one of my Blogger Buddies!!! It's SOOO great to see you here!!! You're gonna love these ladies!!!

So I feel really guilty for not checking in on everyone multiple times a day but Summer School has started and I'm quickly realizing that I'll have time for class and workout and sleep... everything else is going on the backburner. I'll be by to post when I can...

Menu for today:
Atkins Shake
L: Brisket, 1 piece dipped chicken, big salad
S: One Minute Muffin with sweeten cream cheese
S: Peppered Beef Jerkey
D: Chicken Fried Steak with Okra and green beans

I've had 3 bottles of water (about 60 oz) and I think I'm going to skip the lipton tea this evening and just have a cup or two of hot tea.

Welcome all newbies!!! Looking forward to getting to know you (which for me will be more on the weekends... hahahahahaha!!!)

I miss you guys!!!

SO frustrated right now, im looking for a nother job, have been for a little while but no luck yet.

Hey all you Divas!

And welcome to the new divas, too. Your stories are inspirational...so many have come so far. I'm just so impressed by the weight losses.

I been good and am believing I can make my goal this month which was just 8 pounds for me. I'm in my fifties and have already lost a lot so I try to be realisitc about how fast I can do this...but I'm surprised it is coming off so fast this month anyway...I will take it! I'm 226 today but not yet ready to claim it as forever gone. I just think somewhere there's some water weight that is seeking to engulf me. In any case I'll stay on plan.

Have a great Wednesday!

Meg

Good luck, abouttime! I know it's such a hassle.. but you'll find an even better job than before! :-)

I have a question for all the ladies!

I started low-carb about 3 weeks ago. I am down about 9lbs so far. I think that is typically pretty low for someone of my weight (I have 110 to lose) Did you all lose a significant amount in the first 2 weeks? Or did any of you start of slow like me?
I am afraid that maybe I am doing something wrong... don't get me wrong, any loss is a good loss.. I am just hoping for more, faster! (aren't we all!)
Anyway, what has been your experience?

I plan on hitting the Fitness Center after a bunch or errands after work. I waited until 7:30 last night to go and couldn't believe how much cooler and less crowded it is, and I was able to last longer because I wasn't sweating like a pig...well at first.

Todays menu:
Breafast, 3 pc bacon inside lettuce leaf
Snack, broccoli (hear come them burps!), cauliflower
Lunch, hot dog & brat no bun, veggies and dip (work luncheon for American Cancer Society)
Snack, ?
Dinner, Chicken breast, some veg.

GOT 140 OZ OF WATER IN YESTERDAY.....YIPPEE. Going to try at least 120 oz today. Doing it the FF way

Have a nice day.
Cindy
