We took a gamble and we may have lost. We did a "cheap fix" for the AC a few weeks ago since we now have a credit card payment to make and I'm in school. If the AC will just last 2.5 more years I'll retire that bad boy and replace it with a heat pump.

But it's been getting steadily warmer in here since I got home and it's just flat out not running. It's 80.6 in here right now and 86.9 (in the shade) outside.

Jenn is having a hard time studying for Make Up Test tomorrow when she's getting sweaty and she has very sweaty palms!!!

I called Hubby so he could look at it when he gets home but as usual "I don't know when I'm getting home, Babe." So I called Billy the AC guy who I doubt can come out today. I'm sure it'll be tomorrow (at the earliest!).

I think it's breaker related since the microwave time needed to be reset. I don't think that's a good sign.

Oh well! Suck it up JENN!!! People live without AC all over the place. You're a very spoiled little girl.

So the real reason I came back to the laptop is I have to revise my menu for today.

B: Nothing, there were no shakes in the fridge so I had to do without.
L: Sugar Snap Peas and 12 chicken nuggets from Chick-Fil-A
D: Chicken Breast and French Green Beans with parmesan, spices and sour cream

Seriously, don't fear. I'm not going to gripe about the AC (to you) any more (today).

PS

There was a recipe in that 3 ingredient thread to put frozen chicken breasts in a crock pot and cook all day.

DON'T DO IT!

I am now the proud owner of about 5 chicken breasts that are SO DRY! and gritty and just downright unspleasant. And chicken costs too much to waste so I'm gonna grin and bear it.

I'm actually wondering how it'll do as chicken salad... that would give it some much needed moisture.

I grew up without AC, and it sucked, but you get used to it. However, I don't live in TEXAS!! So, you certainly have my sympathies!

As for the chicken, that also sucks! I cooked some chicken tenders in buffalo wing sauce and water, and they came out really juicy and good! I don't know if you put any liquid in there? Definitely try to make them into chicken salad. A little mayo goes a long way with dry stuff! :-)

Good luck!

In the ACs defense, I've had a really good day.

DH buys me a lotto ticket, there's one I really want to win. It's a scratch off and the prize is 1000/week for 20 years. I like that. It's a nice number. So he buys me one a few days a week. There was one waiting for me this morning on the fridge. A sweet 2 dollar win. Nice day! Then I was driving to school and I was like "Ehhh... I'll set cruise control and do 60 (in a 55) today." and I came over a hill and Mr. Sheriff Deputy was sitting there clocking people. Nice day! Then I smoked patootie on my lab final! Nice Day! Then I turned in my lotto ticket winnings and I won 6 bucks instead of 4. So I bought more tickets along with 10 bucks worth from a little check I got (why not? right?). So I ended up winning like 14 bucks out of all that! Nice Day!

So Nice Day! continues! Billy (My AC guy) is on his way RIGHT NOW to look at my AC. THAT'S AWESOME!!! So while it may not get fixed today, at least I'll find out what's wrong. Go me! We finally got our Economic Stimulus check Saturday so I probably won't get to buy a Wii. I'll probably end up paying for some piece for the AC. And given a choice between a Wii or a working AC, I'll take the latter... thank you very much.

As you can tell, no attention span for studying when I'm uncomfortable. I really, truly am a spoiled brat. That's sad... doesn't say much about me.

Oh well! At least my Diva's love this Spoiled Brat!!!

Dear Divas,

The AC runneth again! A circut thingie exploded (blew, whatever) and it was quickly replaced, is cooling the house and I am a happy girl once again.

And I made a 50/50 on my lab final! I rocked that bad boy! Lets hope I smoke the make up test the same way!!!

Love,
Jenn

Ok, I'm thinking 'out loud'... But if I want to lose 100 lbs. by November, I have 72 lbs. to go and 5 months. Leaving the final 10 pounds for November, that means I have 62 lbs. in 4 months. If I divide, I get 15.5. So I am going to set a goal to lose 16 lbs. (rounding up and all) by July 31. Too much??

Up to this point, I've been playing with low carbs. I am going to try to follow a more disciplined Atkins plan. I am in moderate ketosis and have not been having too many carbs on a daily basis... but I haven't been counting them.

Today was a very average day:
B - 2 egg omelete w/
sausage, cheese, zuchini, peppers, onions -- I'd guess atleast 5

L- lowcarb burger, diet dr. pepper -- 5 carbs - 2 fiber = 3 net carbs (is that correct?)

s - almonds -- 5 carbs - 3 fiber = 2 net carbs

D - salmon, collards (collards are 9 - 5 = 4nc)

Thats my total so far. It is either 24 or 14. Can anyone advise me here??

Joy - If your body ditches the fiber, then it looks like 14 to me. Not a bad day! I hate to advise people b/c my body does weird things. Like if I get too much artificial sweetener then my body treats it all like sugar so I have to count sugar alcohols as sugar. Good luck with losing 16 lbs. I set a goal like that for June and all I've lost is 5. BUT on the upside, it's 5 lbs lost, so ROCK ON!

Idaho - I doubt you'll get this, but have bunches and lots of fun on your vacation! We'll miss that shining smilin' mug of yours!

As for me? Make up test today. Wish me luck!

Super Diva Tuesday

Thanks so much for all the get well wishes!!!

Well I did manage to workout yesterday and I plan on spinning today, tuesday is normally my double up day but I am going to ease back into my normal routine, I should have really kept up on my vitamins GRRRR.

You know whats amazing how no matter what size we all fit into things differently, like I am larger than some of you but i wear a smaller size. I know my size 18 dress pants are fallin off but I refuse to buy a new pair until I am a lil closer to where I wanna be, then in jeans I wear a 16. The dress for the last wedding was a 16 and that was in may I tried the 16 on in the STORE (can you believe that me in the dressing room) ok whew... and it seemed a little big but the store didnt have a 14.

Any of y'all shop at Ashley Stewart? they have this new butterfly bra comming out, by Jill Scott. I cant wait for it to get here. I am the one who likes to be pulled up but I dont want to look like cone woman, so i wear like a bra with a sports bra sometimes but this new bra handles the back fat and lifts you up.

Ashley Stewart

I hope its as good as they make it sound.

Have A FANTABULOUS DAY

Hey ladies wanted to check in really quick. We made it. BUT I may take up drinking after our ride down here. It was the longest ride EVER! I wouldn't even know where to start hahahaha. Anyways, I made my 2 eggs this morning and I rode my moms treadmill today. My calves are killing me! Felt good to sweat though~ I'm thinking I'll do good on my lowcarb here! Anyways, I need to go lay my daughter down for a nap. Just wanted to check in. Hopefully sometime I can catch up on everyone. Take care! Have a great day ladies!!
