Yeah Fancy exercise does feel good. Maybe it's a little easier when we get lighter. It's been 25 years since my weight has been this low. I was only 31 years old that time. Well I can't get younger but I can get lighter and fitter.

Has anyone else had any trouble with cucmbers being really bitter right now? Are they just not ripe yet? If not, how do I ripen them. The last 3 I've eaten have been really bitter and I'm wondering if I should quit trying to eat them.

JennB..I haven't bought many cucumbers lately 'cause they all seem to have soft spots at the ends. I love cucumbers but I know what you mean by the bitterness, but do not know why that happens. I've been eating those bread and butter pickles sweetened with splenda...love 'em.

Peachey...Have a great vacation with the kiddos!

Thanks for the sites Mom. I am reading up on Aktins Induction. I will be able to do this much easier than Stillman's because you can have 20 grams of carbs. Today I have been keeping track of my carbs. I had a gatorade G2 and this caused me to exceed my carbs for the day. I am going to try and limit the carbs for the rest of the day. I have had 34 carbs and only 440 calories . DAMN IT!

Jen the Food Porn made very HUNGRY, but I was lucky it was lunch time. I like the 3 receipes thread. Thanks

Peachey, Have a wonderful time at the beach! Wish I could tag along.

Jenn, you rock! I have a friend who has a purple Harley, but I am a total chicken about riding a motorcycle. --Got some cucumbers up on the mountain yesterday (near the Blue Ridge Parkway) that are delicious. Bitterness might come from not enough water/rain.. My little cucumber vines in the back yard are not doing so well, and we have watered every day. Just been so hot. Still hoping we get a few out of our little garden. My zucchini plants died without producing much, but the yellow squash are hanging in there. Got lots of little green tomatoes too.... they just need to hurry up and grow.

Fancy - thanks! sorry to hear your garden isn't doing so well. I'd like to plant one but my yard really doesn't get enough sunshine (very TALL pine trees) not too mention I'm really bad at watering plants. I'm hoping to plant some trees this winter (crepe myrtles, white blooms, maybe the dark crimson red if I can find it) and I'll nurse them along while I'm off next summer. I've also decided to work with "Native Azalea's" as the main plant for the landscaping in my yard... I just don't know where to find them, but in my defense I haven't even come close to start looking yet. I'll work on that next spring. So hopefully my barren little yard will start to come along. I'm looking forward to it!

Peachy - just try to eat semi-clean and enjoy yourself. I would say just eat what you want but then you feel like BLAH and GROSS and you get the CARB HEADACHE and who wants THAT on vacation?

On the upside, I eat out a lot so I'm getting pretty acustomed to scouring menu's for LC goodness, the only place I've been that was just flat out NOT LC Friendly was Whataburger. No salads on the menu, it was CRAZEEE!!!

Have fun girl! I can't wait to hear the stories about how much fun you had!!!

Hi everyone!
Holy cow, am I behind on reading the posts in just two days. Busy weekend here, but an enjoyable one...well until I fell at the fitness center today. I was stepping off the treadmill and tripped over the back of the one next to it. My husband said I went in slow motion. I felt my replaced knee pop in and out of joint, but no pain, just shook up. Sore tonight though, but thankful I didn't hurt myself any worse.

Took niece and nephew to see Kung Fu Panda yesterday. Wish I could say I stayed away from the popcorn. So sick last night, learned my lesson....agian.

I am working on July menus. I am going to try to go cheat free all 31 days. After June cheats and a loss of only 2 lbs, I am aching for a whoosh. One thing I am proud of in June is that I went and worked out at least 3 days/week and I can see a difference like you wouldn't believe. Stairs are getting easier and I do not tire so quick on the mill as I did at first.

Ate a delish salad for dinner tonight. Grilled shrimp, baby spinach leaves, shredded parmasan & cheddar jack cheese, hb eggs, red onion, black olives & roasted red peppers. This was from a restaurant, but I am going to buy the ingredients to make it at home. It was awesome!

Here's to a great July!

Have a nice night.
Cindy

Cindy that salad does sound good -- So glad you were not hurt in your fall. You have really been working out. Super job! I am going to try to do better about 'cheats' in July too. June has been a tough month for me too. Even when I was eating legal, I just ate a bit too much. I can get started eating blueberries and eat too many -- or strawberries, or blackberries, or peanuts... whatever it is, I am facing that I have issues with portion control.

Jenn, I love crepe myrtles and that sounds so lovely. You're giving me some ideas for my yard too.

Peachey, Have fun and don't stress about it. Take plenty of bottled water and enjoy your walks on the beach.

Happy Monday ladies!

I had a pretty good weekend. Though today, I am having an ugly day. I put on 5 pretty shirts this morning, and was not comfortable. They all showcased my fat belly, so now I am wearing baggy pants and an ugly plain t-shirt. I just can't win!

Diet is going good though. I haven't gone over 20g a day since I started (May 5) And for me (the queen of overeat&cheat) that is incredible.

I haven't weighed myself in a few days (vowing not to until Lady Time™ is over) but I do think I am losing. I'm excited to find out if that feeling is true!

Well here it is, the last day of June. My goal was 8 pounds lost this month and I have lost 5 but I'm not counting 'til July 1! I count from the first of the month to the first of the next month...so weight! get outta here! By my calcs I should have lost close to 7 pounds by now.

Cindy...glad your fall didn't result in injury!

Magickal...Great weight loss this month and I see you have three meals planned or eaten? I hope you get a little appetite back, but not too much!

SlimD..good to see you here and hope the Dr. gave you something good to knock out those allergies. Get better...back to 100%. That's wonderful to fit in a 14! Last time I tried something on in a store I was weighing 235 and a 22 was snug.

Chai...That's amazing not cheating in two whole months and I'm hoping you see a reward on the scale.

Fancyface...I know what you mean about portion control. Some foods I just have to not eat because of that...like nuts for example.

Peachey...Very nice pic of you. If I ever have a nice one taken I'll post mine, too. Seems like my hair is always messed up when DH takes one. He says it's because my hair is always messed up!

So I'm posting to be accountable. Meals eaten and planned:

B..3 hard boiled egg salad
L...cola bbq chicken about 6 oz maybe
D..thinking salmon and veggies
Snacks SF jello and cottage cheese

Happy Monday!

Hi all, Hi Mom, Looks like your well on your way to your goal.

I am going shopping today. I am keeping in mind getting low carb foods. I was going to ask if those Atkins snacks are good? Do those of you on Aktins reccommend the snacks or shakes?

I remember when I was doing slimfast I got those slimfast bars and it gave me awful indegestion. They didn't taste very good either.

Annamae...I've tried Atkins bars and my personal opinion is they suck!! Yuck pooey and all that. I still have a partial box if you want to puke, too. The sugarfree hard candy a piece or two a day, sugarfree jello are good snacks for me.

Chai...I'm proud of you and your mom, too!
