Awesome job on the 17lbs down!

I am praying for no more charley horses. My right leg is totally messed up from them. Like I did 10 THOUSAND calf raises. So sore.

Anywho, off to bed now that I've shared the news!

Going to workout Tues, Wed, Thurs and Saturday this week for 45-60 minutes and drink water until I float.

Have a nice night everyone.

Idahomama...You hang in there. I know it's tough to have your husband gone, worrying about him and then to have to take care of everything yourself. One day at a time is the only way to get through tough things. You can lose the weight. I know 300+ seems dificult to you now but it can be lost but again....one day at a time making good healthy choices. Be blessed today.

Thank you sooooooooooooooo much! This morning, I was down another .7 which puts me right at 250. Can't wait to break into the 240's!

You guys rule. Thanks for helping me through my first plateau. I think they will get easier now, knowing that they WILL break, and that I have support regardless!

HI!!!

Sorry guys, this will be short and sweet.

I have two weeks left of my chemistry class. I have Test 4 Thursday, Lab Final Monday, Make Up Test (comprehensive) Tuesday and Final next Thursday. I think it's fair to say HELL WEEK! (Can I say that on here? If not, censor it and know that I'm sorry!!!)

Chai - sooooo happy for you! I think getting off the artificial sweeteners was enough to get your body back into gear. I had to do that the first time I did Atkins. Rough but very effective and really teaches you a LOT about that mysterious body we all take for granted.

Meg - I'm sooo happy you're losing a little faster. I like your method, too look back, I look back and it's like 25 lbs in almost 3 months. I'm not too impressed with myself... but like you say, slow and steady wins the race and I hear the slower you lose the more likely you are to keep it off... and really, what's the point in losing it all if you're going to sabatoge yourself and gain it all back??? If I can kick it up to 30 lbs in 3 months I will have at least met my goal of 10 lbs per month.

Fancy - Sorry you had a stall, you are my weight loss idol. And speaking of, I have a question for you. How often in a day do you eat meat? The more veggies I eat, the less protein I consume, which isn't really a bad thing, but I was wondering what your balance is so I have somewhere to start from. Yesterday I sugar snap peas for lunch (I was at school and it was bring my lunch (those) or eat from Panda Express again (not horrible but still more carby than I'd like for one meal) and for dinner I ate a huge piece of brisket and a salad (about 2-3 cups chopped romaine hearts with a little dressing). I can at least say, the more veggies I get in, the better I feel. Odd!!!

And speaking of how we all feel...

I noticed today that since I've gotten off junk food and soda I not only physically feel better, but mentally, I feel better too. Cleochatra pointed out that since she got off artifical sweeteners her stutter (among other things) has gone away... and mine has too. I can't remember the last time I stuttered. I actually feel balanced. I can't say my sleep has improved, but honestly, I have a pretty bad sleep disorder and "normal" sleep is impossible for me. I'll spare you the details. The veggies, while they don't fill me up for long, are delicious and I actually taste the water in them. I can feel it ooze out with every bite... it's crazy!

SlimD: Miss ya!

Idaho: My Hubby's best friend is a SeaBee so I have a clue what it's like to be military wife. Vern does really well handling it (with 3 kids no less!!! I couldn't do it! ) Just hang in there, and I think what you're doing is AWESOME!!! I can't wait to hear how you Wow'd his homecoming with a brand new sexified slimmer body!!! You MUST take pictures. And when you feel weak, talk to us! And when you do awesome, talk to us! And when you are blasie(?) talk to us! Support and preparation are the two main things that will help you do this successfully!!! And most of us are not too far ahead of you in weight loss, so you're in good company! which is great for me b/c my two friends, one is athletic, the other is only slightly chubby... so I can't really expect them to understand what it's like to want to lose more weight than (athletic girl) weighs. HA! I'll lose more than a best friend worth of weight! That's hilarious!!!!

Alright, everyone I've missed: I've been reading and I'm happy for you and I'm glad you're on vacation and have a splendiferous time! And I hope Mom's get out of CCU soon... and I know I'm forgetting stuff...

I read, I just don't necessarily have time to post... gotta make some grades!!!

Miss you all!!!

Well, I didn't lose anything until I started back with the artificial sweeteners! So, I am happy to know that they are not the culprit for the stall!
I love my syrups! :-)

Thanks so much ladies for the support! You girls are awesome. Today is a brand new day and I'm ready to do this. I haven't jumped on the scale yet. But even with a bad day yesterday I will so I can keep track of my losses still. Have a great day everyone! I shall return soon and catch up on the posts better. Kinda hard with 2 kids standing here talking to me lol.

This is funny so I thought I'd share...

I just had a salt craving. Very odd since I just ate lunch and am totally full. So I ate an oz of cashews. It stopped the craving. So I started thinking "Why would I be craving sodium since I get tons of it a day?" So I was thinking over my menu the last few days and honestly, I've gotten, for sure, 10% of the daily recommended... and unless there is hidden salt in my foods (salad dressing, davincis) I'm pretty sure there is no salt in the veggies I've been eating (all raw) and the meats I've been eating (all cooked by mwah so I know there's no sodium).... so yeah, it's been insanely low the last few days and hahahahaha the body had a craving.

My diet has been low in fat, low in calories, low in carbs and low in sodium... it would almost sound like I'm starving myself although I have to admit, I eat a LOT! hahahaha.

that's all, I'm diving back into the world of chemistry.

From my experience the only thing that really counts in weight loss is the balance between calories in and calories out. That's what makes a difference in the long haul. Having said that, the only way I can eat at a calorie defecit is low carb 'cause it reduces my very healthy appetite. I'm making it happen on lean proteins and low carb veggies. Works for me. As for artificial sweetners and the like...may have some temporary effect on weight loss, but I think we can get very impatient about weight loss and it's not a good idea to persue a quick fix type of plan for very long. I think those type of plans can be bad for our health. Enough but not too much of good healthy foods and exercise are what will slim us and keep us healthy at the same time. It's not a sexy way to lose weight, but it sure is a sensible way...hey..I'm too old for anything other than sensible anymore. I did more than the average amount of non-sensible stuff in my earlier years and I'm done with that. LOL Details not avaliible upon request.

Yeah, JennB being an active student in super hot Nacogdoches could mean you need a little salt! Unless you have no sweat glands? Myself on the other hand...well I stay in the AC so it's low seventies in my own personal 1,500 sq.ft. of Texas....

Speaking of smiles and pretty white teeth, have you ever tried 'oil-pulling'? I read about it on the main forum here and tried it just using the cooking oil I have and it took the tea and coffee stains right off my teeth. You take about a tablespoon of it and swish it around your mouth for several minutes and spit it out, then brush your teeth. It brightened mine up...of course mine are naturally more like those beige pearls than the white ones.

Today and tomorrow are such busy days that there will be no workouts. Missed Water Aerobics this evening, but celebrated Child #3's 12th birthday... YES.ALL.DAY!! We went to the free summer movies and had to leave the house at 8:30am to get there... and I just go home... about 30 minutes ago... 10:30pm

Tomorrow, I leave at sometime early, probably 7ish am, for my yearly girlfriend get together. We celebrate our birthdays together cause they are close.

My son's dinner choice was Golden Corral. Not always my favorite, and in the past, I put it on the "Don't EVEN ask me to go THERE!" list. I ran into a friend and told her where we'd been and she knowingly groaned. But I told her, now that I am not in a love-hate relationship with food, GC is not bad!

Dinner:
Roast Chicken Breast
6 bites of steak
small piece of Salmon (baked)
cauliflower with cheese, bacon and butter
cabbage
small salad
3 no sugar added cookies

I think the worst of all that was the no sugar added cookies.

I feel pretty good about what I ate. I know that I won't wake up ravenous in the morning, cause I didn't load up on carbs. I may have over indulged a little, but compared to what I've done in the past...

I'm looking forward to my day tomorrow. My gf's know my WOE and they each are following a different WOE. One does mostly raw. The other is kind of a WW girl. We try very hard to accommodate one another.

I look forward to getting back over here on Thursday and catching up.

Hey, I'll take anything I can get!

Joy, have fun today on your lady trip!!! I just had one of those with my best friend and it was fabulous! Enjoy! :-)
