Welcome Meg,
You seem to be doing excellent at losing....congrats!

Magic,
It cannot come off overnight. A cheat here and there is healthy in my opinion. So we lose slower, but isn't the focus here to lose period? I am losing much slower than the first time I did atkins, but maybe that will be good in the long run...especially since I started exercising. Don't beat yourself up. You are a true inspiration to this board...one reason I stick with it. Good luck with the tuna and eggs. I think I will HB some tonight. I did buy celery and mayo to make tuna this week, but I don't have the guts to do it Stillmans way. Keep a positive attitude, because you have kicked booty these past two months.

Hi Everyone!

Good to see you all back from the holiday weekend.

Quote:
Oh yeah, Fancy: Is this your first time doing LC or are you a return like me?
Jenn, it is my second time doing Atkins. Actually did Atkins in 2002 for about 5 months, lost from 320 down to 260 and then hit a brick wall... Gained most of it back in the next five years and decided this January, that my life is more important than being fat. I have a 3 year old son and am determined to be around for grandchildren one day. Want to be an active Mommy -- not a fluffy Mommy.

June 3 will mark 5 months into doing Atkins this time. The only difference I can think of is adding more carbs quicker this time. In 2002 I stayed at induction levels the entire time and that just did not work for me in the long run. This time is more a permanent lifestyle change. Does that make sense. The bonus is I have lost more weight in this five month period than in the first time I did Atkins.

When I lost weight the first time I had a ton of blonde highlights put in... I walked in a bathroom I was unfamiliar with and when I saw my reflection I screamed a little b/c I thought someone was in there with me... that's funny stuff... I can't wait until it happens again.
I love it! I have actually seen a few people this week that I have not seen since Christmas and they did not recognize me at first....... not until they saw my son with me. LOVE it!!

You are a true inspiration to this board
Magickal, I think we can all agree to that. By the way, I have eggs on to boil right now too. Gotta love those eggs!

I have a Papillon puppy named Puck
Sounds like a cutie. I love pups! We are looking at maybe a dachsund puppy. Not too sure about temperament. I love golden labs, but just a bit concerned that it would get too big for my ds too quickly. Thinking small would be best. We may be waiting until this fall -- want to do it before Christmas though. Someone said get it for Christmas, but that is too hectic already and just would not be fair to a puppy to be thrown into all the hustle bustle at our house in December.
--

Gotta run, but will try to post more later. Have a super day Divas!

Hi again!

I forgot to post what I'm a eating...

B- hb eggs
L- turkey leg
D- bbq'd hamburgers..LC pickles

I need just a little veggies everyday otherwise I have..ahem...problems I also have 'had' to have a few LC hard candies at night..and SF jello/cottage cheese...but I've managed to stop at 1500 for the past week so I'm back on my track of a 1 to 2 pound loss per week. Takes awhile for this old gal.

Meg

P.S.
Thanx Cindy for the encouragement. Me needs it.

Magickal...don't you worry about the cheat..it was a holiday ya know...you are likely back on track already.

Fancy: you and I sound almost identical in situation weight loss wise. I've been trying to increase my fat and I'll be adding exercise next week. Hopefully I'll be getting some good results soon!!!

Puck was a Christmas present. I asked the breeder to let me pick him up after the holidays. She worked with me and it was a much easier transition. New homes are so stressful and it would have been horrible for him to deal with all the holiday insanity on top of it. He's a mess and makes me laugh daily. My only advice is puppies be a lot of work. Be prepared to chase a kid and a puppy.

Magick: Don't stress too much over your cheat. I agree, one every now and then won't hurt you... and you're very faithful to your diet so I'm sure your body wouldn't even notice.

SlimD: Missed you crazy girl!!! Glad you're back!!!

My menu today:
Atkins Shake
Omelette with cheese
brisket
2 pieces of cheese
southwestern salad with grilled chicken

NOM NOM!!!

Welcome Chamie! Good to have you with us. This is a great group and you will get lots of support. Best wishes on your goals.

I am just posting really quickly this morning and then will be back later today to update. Woke up 2.5 lbs lighter.... Must be all the yardwork I did yesterday. Celebrating!! I am getting so close to that 100 lb mark. Cannot believe it!! Wahoo! Weighed 210 this morning. I look at 306 for Jan 3 and 210 for May 28 and just cannot believe it!! I don't go back to my Dr until October and she is not going to believe it either.

Welcome Chamie! These ladies are AWESOME! Love 'em all. Great friends, there to tell you that it's okay to get back on track when you falter and there to tell you how happy they are when you lose... It's awesome (for lack of a better word!)

Meg: I have 6 dogs total. 2 in the house (medium and small), 4 in the backyard (2 large, 2 medium)... I love all my babies... I just wish I had the time for them all!!! But they have a good life here so I can't complain.

Today is my birfday! I've decided to stay on track today and eat LC. This evening I'm going to make a LC treat my mom told me about... she says it tastes just like cheese cake. It's basically LC ice cream, cream cheese, and davinci's SF syrup. I can't wait!!! I know we're going to chili's for lunch so I'm sure I'll be rockin' a salad and Hubby will take me out for dinner tonight... YUM! Maybe Red Lobster? I have all day to decide.

Hope you all have a great, beautiful, LC Day!!!!

Yep, Slim D, it WW, workout Wednesday. Since I have joined the Fitness Center, my hubby and friends call me Workout Wilma...too funny.

On this WW, I plan on hitting the Center for a good 45-60 minutes. I've added a few new machines for my bye byes (oohhh, they are some flappin flabby thangs), and the bike. I am up past 1/2 mile on the mill, an improvement for me, goaling to be doing a mile in a couple weeks. 500 Nusteps, leg press and leg weights are the remainder. Tomorrow night, I have my assessment where they will help target machines I should use.

Heading home from work, have a 1/2 day off. Still feel like crappolas from the allergies, but heading to work out anyway. I swear I couldn't possible feel any worse.

Todays menu:

Breakfast: 5 sausage links
Snack: celery w/cream cheese
Lunch: leftover taco salad
Snack: ?
Dinner: tuna on shredded lettuce, cukes and red onion. Broccoli w cheese sauce.

Have a great day.
Cindy

Hey there! I am new to the board, but not so new to LCing. I am a re-re-re-restarter! Followed Atkins many times, but fallen off the wagon and I'm climbing back on as of yesterday! I think that this time, becoming part of a group (where I'm held accountable) will be a GREAT thing for me. So, if you ladies don't mind, I'd like to join in!

Today is day 2 of Atkins Induction and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm craving a Mountain Dew, but I will stay away and wait for the cravings to go away!

My 1st goal is to lost 10% of my weight. I haven't set a time frame to it, because I don't want to get disappointed if it doesn't happen in that time. I figure, as long as the scale is going in a downward trend, I'm doing something right!

Welcome Michelle!!

Happy Happy Birthday Jenn!
I have celebrated the anniversary of my 29th a few times too! Hey, it just gets better. Hope you are truly blessed this upcoming year.

Slim Diva, you are the greatest. Your posts always cheer me up.

Cindy, I am so impressed with your workouts and the fitness center. Workout Wednesday is a breeze for you. I have not done anything exercise wise today and gonna have to get off my duff and hit the pavement. I am not a great exercise person, but gonna have to work on some of those flappin flabby thangs too.

Magickal, you are the best. Hope you're feeling better soon.

to your hubby Meg!

Slim Diva and Fancy,
You two crack me up. I love it when I laugh while reading posts...very healthy.

Michelle,
Welcome. You will find a great group of ladies here who are all in the same boat. Glad you joined us.

Magic,
You will get it together. You have the willpower. We are here for you if you need to vent. Support all open on this end.

Had a good workout, but may have over done it. I will know after I sit for awhile. Going to Walgreens to get some cough syrup, hope it doesn't stall me but I am desperate to get some sleep tonight instead of hacking all night.

Getting ready to make tune, HB eggs and chop lots of veggies. I feel like a cheat, so I will add a teaspoon of Hidden Valley Ranch dip mix to my cream cheese for my veggies and cream cheese snacks for the next few days. Ok, so maybe just 1/2 teaspoon, whatever 3 net carbs equals.

Have a great night everyone.

Cindy aka Wilma

Thank you all for the birfday wishes!!! It's been a really good day.

Hubby is buying me a motorcycle but it didn't come in today. He's really disappointed but I tell him that it's pretty much a done deal, he has the money in his pocket... it just literally didn't arrive. He's a good man, I'm glad I waited so long to meet him.

::Confession!::

I had a small cheat today... I ended up eating grilled meatloaf for dinner... and I *KNOW* there is breading in it... but it's my birthday and I'm entitled to a little meatloaf if I want it. So I did. I'm not feeling guilty, just ready for Monday when I can start working out.

I'm going to write REAL goals for June. I'm going to set a real weight loss goal and I'm going to work at it as hard as y'all do. I'm looking forward to it!!!

Hope you're all having a great day!!!

Good morning ladies.

Guess what? I lost 2 pounds! that brings me to 228 and I'm not letting it slip back on. It's a keeper...until the next loss of course.

my menu yesterday was:
B..3 hb eggs
S..3 oz. burger with 2T. cottage cheese
L...5 egg whites fried w 1/2 c. cottage cheese and 1 T. baconbits
S..lettuce salad w lite honey mustard and baconbits
D..7 oz. pork tenderloin, 1 c. asparagus
SFjello, 1/2 c. cottage cheese and a little SF hard candy
1500 calories total about 30 carbs

We can sure eat well low carb and also see results. Best 'diet' ever. Really the only way i'll ever keep the weight off as well so it's a way of life for me.

Cindy..slimdiva..great work on the exercise!

Magickal...you can do it. You have a proven track record!!

Michelle...

Fancy...thanx for the birthday wishes! He's still pluggin along this morning.

Peachey... I like your signature

Jenn...wow a motorcycle..my hubs used to ride those with me on the back only Be careful with it..and meatloaf is not a cheat on your birthday...you did good.
