Cara: My actual goal is 10 lbs per month. Right now it looks like I'll get about half that. Yeah I'm let down but my goal is still 10 per month. Maybe when school starts back up and I get back on the elliptical machine I'll be able to meet (and exceed?) my goal.

Everyone: Thanks for being a great and active board. It's nice to have low carb friends to read up throughout the day. I know I'm not too talkative yet but I will when I have the chance to get to know everyone.

Well I had my cheat day Saturday and all the food I dreamed I wanted I didnt even have enough room to eat it and after I ate what I did I felt gross. TOM is here so I am like grrr still and really tired and cramping.

Anyhoo I am still focused I have to go to a wedding this weekend and I still dont have a dress, you know I have a few options but we wil see !!!! I am supposed to go look at an apt. this week as well, I am sure I will be all over the place I have to get my hair done find shoes and dress etc!!!

My BF had an emergency with his daughter and had to travel all the way to Kansas state so y'all keep him in your prayers !!! plz

Confession: I know we aren't supposed to weigh ourselves daily. I know our weight fluctuates throughout the day. I weigh myself every morning (for now). I get up, pee, and weigh myself to see how good I'm starting the day. I figure, THIS is my lowest weight of the day and it's the one I'm going to count.

So I weighed a few days ago and showed a few pounds drop and I was happy and celebrated.

Then on my official weigh in (Sunday) I showed that I had only dropped 1.6 lbs... and I was sad.

So I must have just been extra fat at that moment b/c I hopped on the scale today and I'm showing a 6 lb drop since Sunday (yesterday). I take this victory and do my happy dance all over the house and then share with my Divas.

The moral of the story: If I'm going to insist on weighing myself daily (like I'm not supposed to) then I'd better not be disappointed when I'm having a fat day.

Fancy: Congrats on the AWESOME weigh in! I can't wait to get down to 220... of course I also can't wait to get down to 150... And congrats on making it through Mothers Day weekend cheat free. My dogs and husband all chipped in and bought me a bag of beef jerkey (some kind of new jalapeno carne asada flavor... YUM!) so it worked out really well for me.

SlimDiva: Sorry to hear your cheat day didn't make you feel good (Don't you love how this diet punishes you for cheating??? I do. It's incentive to not cheat.) I'm also sorry to hear about TOM making you crazy... I have REALLY BAD mood swings and I have a two week cycle. Like I'm nice and normal and can eat healthy for two weeks and then for two weeks I'm a ***** and I want lots of greasy burgers from evil fast food joints that sell them for $1.00 (or $3.00 depending on which burger I'm wanting). I ended up getting on Lybrel which is a birth control that eliminates your period so I actually feel normal (we're going to use that term VERY loosely b/c I'm not a normal person! hahahaha!) all 4 weeks a month and when I'm being mean it's usuallly because I'm tired. I'm a lot happier this way... but I do empathize with being all RAWR! and not having control over it.

I'm sorry to hear about your BF and his daughter. I hope it all works out and everyone is okay very soon. Emergencies SUCK! I'll definitely be keeping the three of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Have SOOO much fun picking out your sexy dress to fit your slimmer, more healthy body. I actually need to buy some jeans but I'm hoping I'll drop a pants size soon so I'm trying to hold off.

Good Morning Everyone.
Well Saturday was weigh in day, and I dropped only 2 lbs since May 1st. I cheated a bit Friday night with the crust on two pieces of pizza, therefore, how can I get discouraged when I know what I did wrong...I did not eat 100%clean. Week days are so much easier to eat right. Anyway, I did not gain and today we meet with a Wellness & Fitness instructor. I am SO going to sign up. I have some catching up to do.

Today's menu:
Breakfast: 5 sausage links
Snack: cheese stick
Lunch: few bites of steak, leftover grilled zuchini.
Snack: 1/2 cucumber
Dinner: rest of steak, 1/2 cucumber and a dab of salad

Yeah I planned the cheat day every two weeks so that I am not tempted to cheat because I will just be looking forward to the cheat day to get it all outta my system. but it just wasnt as fulfilling as I imagined ya know.

Yeah my TOM has always been dreadful, i tried the BC to control it before but it made my blood pressure high then they gave me BC for high blood pressure everything just had my body going crazy, my mood changed it was like I had TOM every other week. It was so bad so I got off everything because it just made me so outta wack ya know, so now I have to deal with the severe cramps and mood swings and tiredness, I thought because I work out so much the cramps would go away but NO NO NO. My flow is lighter and it doesnt last as long so there have been some improvements.


Yeah you said it Emergencies really do SUCK !!!!!!!!!!!


Yeah I will have fun I guess, I have a dressing room complex from way back when I was younger but I may have to put that to the side and just try some things on.

Yeah I need new dress pants for work because they so baggy, but I will wait a few more sizes.

Congrats on your weight loss!!!!!!! what are your menus like ?

Slimdiva: Sorry to hear about your dressing room complex. I hate them too. Really anywhere that someone has to think about me getting undressed.

My menu, in a typical day, is something like this:

Breakfast: Atkins Shake and vitamins/supplements
Lunch: Shredded Pork and Salad
Snack: Fried Cheese Tostada (with refried beans, taco meat and sour cream)
Dinner: Chinese Chicken and Cabbage
Snacks: Beef Jerkey or Pork Rind Nachos

I may eat more or less, just depends on how hungry I am for the day. To kill my sweet tooth I usually have a shot of whip cream (I have regular and chocolate in the fridge). I'm a big eater so I don't do well on diets that restrict how much I can eat.

hi divas congrates on all ur losses , tom is here and its really pissin me off cuz of course the scale aint moving!!!! so i been in an awfull mood so thats why i been staying away from the boards hopefully this will go away soon and ill see a drop in the scale ..... hate going a week with out loss its the worst feeling. hugs to u alll

I had a great weekend.

Rode a bike for 8 miles on Saturday. Sunday, I had a yummy omelete! For dinner, hubby put a roast in the crock pot. Then he chopped up the meat real fine and ate it on flour tortilla shells. I put a pile of lettuce on my plate with cheese, meat, sour cream and a little salsa. MMMM!!!

Today, I weighed, and the scale finally moved! Woo hoo!!! I can't wait to get out of these 280's! Only .8 to go!

Awesome Joy! Glad to hear from you about a good weekend AND a cooperative scale!!

I can't believe this, but I am staying off of the scales - i just didn't weigh for a few days - and I really want to right now b/c I've been exercising more, but I'm also about to get tom, I think, so probably better that I don't. I'm just going to wait until the end of the month.

Jenn - that fried cheese tostada sounds good - these wonderful ladies introduced me to the wonders of fried cheese, but I hadn't thought of it like that! Thanks!! Something I have tried is to eat it w/ my eggs and meat for breakfast - it almost takes the place of the toast you'd normally have.

I just have to say that I am amazed - no, stunned that I have been on this wol for almost a month - 5/14 will be a month!! I've never, never, never been this faithful - and I owe all of you and your support and friendship a lot of thanks!!! I truly feel like it's more like a no brainer now - a real habit, a way of life instead of something that I'm making myself do, almost as a punishment, for as long as possible until I absolutely burst and eat everything in sight!! A good feeling to know that you're being proactive in your health!!

Played tennis again tonight and cleaned through my daughter's total mess of a room - made me feel terrible that it was so messy, but I got a workout taking loads and loads to The Blind!! I love to de-clutter!

magic - good to hear from you - hang in there - give yourself a break (not a cheat, but maybe another type of treat for yourself!!) I know that you'll come through with flying colors!!!!

And about the dressing rooms - it was not that long ago, before the birth of my last child, that I really didn't mind going into dressing rooms. I wasn't skinny, but I was happy w/ me and felt I looked cute. What I do mind is that, for some insane reason, although I can see #s on the scale, I expect to go in and still feel cute - and I see rolls!!! I'm dreaming of the day I can just go in and see a cute outfit on me instead of all of my negatives!! For example, I gain weight in my stomach - always have. I can gain a lot and not show it in my legs much, so I always took advantage of that and wore cute but bulky short dresses or t-shirt dresses, etc. with sandals or tall boots, etc. I want to be able to do that again!! Right now, I'll see a cute dress and be so excited to try it on, and then be totally depressed b/c of the way it looks on me! For some reason, maybe a way to cope, I still imagine my body the way it was - although I can see how heavy I am in pictures!!
I'll have to add that to my list - be able to wear a cute, short dress w/ pride again!

Good Morning Divas!

Today will be a fun day for me since I get to help my Sister-In-Law paint her house (which is my old house and it DEFINITELY needs a good paint job... I've been wanting to paint that bad boy since 2000 when I moved in there!). So between washing the walls and taping and painting I'm sure I'll burn some pretty decent calories.

Yesterday I Spring Cleaned my bedroom... a project that I thought would take a few hours and instead it took all day. Oh well. Win some lose some. The upside is I got a ton of clutter out of there and now it feels big and roomy again! Yeah!!!!

Dressing Room Complex: it stems form when I was younger my sis was always the small cute little cheerleader type and I was the one the chunky one, it wasnt like now they have jr. plus etc. but I had to wear womans clothing etc. so the fashion was older and it was like things still wouldnt fit, my sis would be in the dressing room helping try to squeeze it on and my mom would be out there searching for something larger I am tearin up as I write this she use to get so frustrated and upset and then I would have to be on diets etc while my brother and sis ate reg food. So I would just get an attitude and cry. It just painful to be in a dressing room because I remember my traumatic experiences, I mean even up to Senior prom, to get a dress it was insane shopping with her !!!! of course she is a size 6/8 it was just hard for me and it still is I hoping I can get over that. I am def the best dressed in the Family now because I am a Diva in everyway I just try my clothes on at home. Ok I have to get to class.

Cara, It doesn't seem like you've been with us a month...time flies. Keep on posting. You're doing awesome.

Jenn, Spring cleaning.....hmmm...that's all I've been doing lately. This past weekend, I finished kitchen drawers and cupboards. Tonight after work, I will steam clean the carpet in the living room. Trying to keep moving at night, as I sit on my caboose all day.

Slimdiva, The only difference between you as a little girl in the dressing room and you today is that you have confidence girl! I can remember the same thing, I had to wear women's clothes. I have two smaller sisters who are pretty fit....but guess what .....that isn't me. I AM ME. Tackle that dressing room as you lose weight. You will win!

Jennifer, Fancy, Heather, Where are you?

Magic, TOM gave me issues this time around too. The weight will come off...we all know its just a matter of time.

SlimDiva: Don't let your past haunt you. Own it and show it who you are now! Don't let a crazy memory keep you from doing the things you want to.

I have a similar experience with working out. Even now I have a major complex when I go to the gym... I just feel like all the skinny girls and muscled out boys are silently judging me... but I have to remind myself that at least I'm AT the gym and at least I'm TRYING to do something about it. Those memories can suck caboodle.

Todays Menu:

B: atkins shake and 2 scrambled eggs

S: Popcorn chicken
D: probably have a snack, I'm really not hungry, maybe that last SF jello taunting me in the fridge?
E: Went shopping, primered a room, took the spring cleaning trash to the road (8 or so trips)

I've been really busy today and slacking in the water department so my goal is to drink AT LEAST a bottle of water before bed... 2 if I can hack it. I'd better get started now!

Hi Everyone, I am late checking in for today and having problems with my internet (dial-up) Arghhh!! Hope I get this posted. Not been able to read everyone's posts, but will hopefully get caught up tomorrow. Hope you are all have a blessed week. Been busy in this neck of the woods.

Trying to stay off the scale for a few days. Feeling good, but been a little lazy today. Of course, I think some days it is good to rest and be a little lazy. Anyhow, gonna try to post this and then get ready for bed. Have a super hump day tomorrow!!

Happy Workout Wednesday everyone!

Today, I will try to do my best at exercising whenever possible. Whether it be walking more at work, walking on my break, or extra cleaning at home tonight and a walk at sunset.

I biffed my day yesterday! Why? Why?
I was getting a lot of laundry & housework done and I wanted to be done by 7 for American Idol, so I ran to McD's for an iced tea and a salad. I originally intended on making a huge salad at home as I bought lots of good fixins. I looked at the Big Mac staring at me on the menu board, and the love was there, so I decided that I would buy one with my tea and ditch the bun. I ate the damn thing...bun and all. I had a stomach ache almost immediately, so was it worth it? Was it worth another stall? Nope! Hopefully that was an eye opener and I can remain cheat free the rest of this week. Saturday, my husband and I are touring the fitness and wellness center we learned about at a meeting at work Monday, and joining for at least a month or two....just to see if it is something we want to do. I am limited with my arthritis, but there are machines I can do, therefore how do I know my limits if I do not try. I would give anything to walk long distances again.

Today's menu:
Breakfast: 4 sausage links, 2 scrambled eggs
Snack: forgot at home
Lunch: 2 hot dogs
Dinner: large chef salad, I am slacked on veggies today.
Snack: 3 W's, WATER, WORKOUT, WILLPOWER

Sorry I am late gettin on !!!! But I had a great work out before lunch, Its amazing I feel the muscles now

Jenn- I know what mean about the gym, I was like that at first but I was thinking those little skinny chick and the buff guys got that way by being in the gym thats my motivation lookin at tha little skinny heiffas (hahaha) thinkin I am going to get there and be the motivation for someone else ya know. Please Im on the ellip. everyday, its a lil more testing to take the classes and look at myself but I am dealin with that too.
